FreeStuffsNG: This life ehn. Pride goeth before a fall.
So all the crude oil from the South East doesn't even add up enough to the quantity of crude oil produced in Lagos yet all the VAT keeps going to South East and some ungrateful folks from the South Eaat call other Nigerians parasite. Empty barrels make the loudest noise. Smh..
Lagos State will catch up and overtake others ahead of it on this list some day.
The SouthWest is the future of Nigeria's petroleum industry. Very soon, Ogun State will join this list.
This is why we need more investments in oil and gas investments in Lagos State. Invest in Lagos today. May God bless Nigeria for ever! Even if ALL Nigeria's oil is produced in Lagos.. There's no guarantee that It would make your life any better. No be everything be competition! |

Politics › Re: Benin, Togo Owe Nigeria $8.8m Electricity Debt — FG by TechBaron: 12:42pm On Mar 25, 2025 |
Heroesworths: Nigeria supplies electricity to Togo and Benin Republic based on long-standing bilateral agreements. One key reason is to prevent these countries from building dams on the River Niger, which could reduce the water flow needed for Nigeria’s hydroelectric power plants like Kainji, Shiroro, and Jebba. Without this agreement, Nigeria’s power generation capacity could be severely affected.
Yes, it’s frustrating that Nigerians experience inconsistent electricity while these neighboring countries enjoy uninterrupted supply. However, the reality is that if they restrict the River Niger’s flow, our own power situation could get even worse.
At the same time, these countries are supposed to pay for the electricity supplied, though they sometimes owe debts. The bigger issue remains Nigeria’s internal power generation and distribution challenges, which must be addressed for stable electricity at home. Posts like these are meant to be highlighted and pinned to the frontpage. |

I used to underestimate that street quote "if person explain Nigeria give you, and you understand, the person no explain well give you be that"
How on earth would I believe that Nigeria supplies Benin/Togo with electricity?
Last year I was in these two countries for about 3 months. During my time there, I can count the number of times that the power went off.. Even when our national grid collapsed for days, there was still steady power.
Like how?
What magic is Nigeria doing, that is enabling these countries to have steady power, that we can't do for ourselves?
And you need to even see the infrastructure that enables them to have light 24/7... Nothing special.
Everyone taps light directly from the pole and they have their prepaid meters outside their houses, sometimes at the main road sef...

In Donald Trump's voice...
Imagine this state having 100% control over her resources.

pansophist: Senegal is saved. It's an islamic country, so they've given their life to Allah. But in term of security, then yes, Senegal is very safe.
Going by road will take you at least three days from Nigeria. And if you don't have a passport, you'll just subject yourself to series of harassment and rounds of scamming from different border officials.
Make sure you get your passport before going, because if you plus all the bribe you'll pay on the way for not having it, it would have gotten you one already. And if you meet a wicked officer, you'll regret ever leaving naija.
Your passport is your green card across West Africa. It accords you diplomatic protection, free visa entry, and protect you from being scammed. And to register yourself in Senegal and do official stuff, you need it. Get it. You have obviously never been to Senegal. You can travel round west Africa with your Driver's License! |
