7. Tomacco Predicted: 1999 Came true : 2011 When Homer Simpson tests his skills in growing crops, he mixes in plutonium to ensure his tomatoes grow faster and larger. Homer ends up creating an extremely addictive vegetable that is a cross between a tomato and tobacco. Although it sounds impossible, it happened in reality. When disaster struck in the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan it resulted in radiation leaking into fish and crops. Farmers found some really deformed tomatoes! |
8. Hover Cars Predicted: 1992 Came true : 2017 “The Simpsons” gave us another look into the future, and this time it was 40 years later, so 2032. As Homer and Bart were walking to the cinema, they were passed by a Star Trek-style hover car. In 1992, this seemed impossible, but flying car prototypes have already been unveiled, and are completely backed up by Larry Page, Google’s co-founder….and it’s only 2018. |
9. Baby Translator Predicted: 1992 Came true : 2015 Every parent wishes they could understand their baby’s babbling. Well, Homer’s brother, Herb, invented a device, back in 1992, that interpreted the sounds baby Maggie was making. Fast forward 23 years, Taiwanese researchers enhanced a prototype that translates 200,000 sounds from hundreds of babies, and can tell you what their mood is based on the sound of their crying. |
10. Gone Fishing Prediction : 1990 Came true : 2011 Everyone remembers “Blinky”, the three-eyed fish, which was mutated by nuclear runoff waste. The episode even won the Environmental Media Award! Well 20 years later, an Argentine fisherman caught a wolf fish in a reservoir beside a nuclear plant. The fisherman were shocked to discover that the fish had three eyes, bringing Blinky into reality. |
11. Tiger Attack Predicted: 1993 Came true : 2003 On “The Simpsons”, Springfield decides to legalize gambling, causing Mr. Burns to open up a casino. He invites German magicians, Gunter and Ernst, to come and perform. During the performance, their own tiger attacks them! 10 years later, during Siegfried and Roy’s long-running Las Vegas circus act, their white Bengal tiger surprisingly mauls them on stage. Coincidence? We don’t think so. On a side note, the attack left them both partially paralyzed and obviously ended their performance days. |
12. Curling Isn’t Just For the Swedes Predicted: 2010 Came true : 2018 The United States is known for being strong in some sports, but curling is definitely not one of them. Curling requires the shuffling of a disk on ice, and the Swedish are known for being the ultimate champions of the sport. In 2010, the show depicted Marge and Homer making it to the US mixed doubles curling team, and managing to beat the favored Swedish team. 8 years later, Team USA’s men curling team defeated Sweden at the 2018 Olympics, winning the US their first gold medal in the sport! |
13. The Beginning of Autocorrect Predicted: 1994 Came true : 2007 During an assembly at Springfield Elementary School, Kearney asks his fellow bully, Dolph, to type “Beat up Martin” on his “Newton” – the earliest iPhone. When the device comprehends the message, it changes the text to “Eat up Martha”. This foreshadows Apple users’ common annoyance – messaging errors – that are immediately blamed on iPhone’s autocorrect technology. Funny enough, Apple’s director of engineering mentions that “Eat up Martha” is referenced when the keyboard needs to be fixed. |
14. Sugar Truck Stealing Predicted: 1994 Came true : 2009 Homer decided to steal hundreds of pounds of sugar he found at the site of a truck accident, and then sell it door-to-door. A second mistake Simpson made was keeping the pile of sugar in his backyard. Unfortunately, the sugar quickly attracted bees, and then due to the rain, the sugar began to dissolve. As random as it sounds, a similar scenario happened 15 years later. Two kids in India were arrested for stealing a sugar truck! |
15. Facetiming Predicted: 1995 Came true : 2010 When “Lisa’s Wedding” first aired, watching Lisa have a face to face online chat with her mother to announce her engagement seemed outrageous. But, 15 years later, Apple announced the ‘newly’ developed “FaceTime” which allowed people to chat face to face with anyone across the globe, through technological devices. Too bad it wasn’t a completely new concept thanks to “The Simpsons”. |
16. Smartwatches Predicted: 1995 Came true: 2014 Lisa visits a fortune-teller at a renaissance fair which transports her 15 years into the future (to 2010). Lisa, at 23 years old, meets her husband-to-be who organizes a proposal through his wristwatch. Yes, he is talking to his watch! In 1995, this seemed crazy, but in 2009, Samsung ‘introduced’ the concept of a smartwatch, and now its a common accessory. |
17. When Life Gives You Lemons… Predicted: 1995 Came true : 2011 During “Lemons of Troy”, the kids from the neighboring city stole Springfield’s beloved lemon tree. This event only became significant when, in 2011, a couple in Wisconsin woke up to find their lemon tree missing. |
18. Fox and the Mouse Predicted: 1998 Came true: 2017 The Simpsons joked, back in 1998, that 20th Century Fox would fall under the control of Walt Disney. Well, twenty years later, Disney acquired most of 20th Century Fox in a blockbuster deal worth $52 billion. The deal transferred ownership of multiple films, television series and characters to the control of Disney – including The Simpsons! |
19. Super Bowl Winners – Three Years Running Predicted: January 23, 1992 Came true : January 26, 1992 (and for the following three years) Lisa and Homer were having some father-daughter bonding time through sports gambling. During the episode, Lisa tells Homer that if Washington wins the Super Bowl against Buffalo, then she will still love him. The game ends with a win for Washington, and all is right in the family. Just 3 days later, during the Super Bowl, Jim Kelly throws four interceptions, and Washington goes on to win! For three years, FOX re-aired the episode, updating the teams for the specific Super Bowls, and somehow continuously managed to predict the winners correctly. |
20. Futuristic Vending Machine Predicted: 1995 Came true: 2010 “The Simpsons” completely nailed this one! When the famous family was transported into the future, we saw Lisa’s husband-to-be purchasing a soy snack with a credit card in a vending machine. Currently, less and less people are carrying around cash, and more and more “enjoy” soy snacks. What are we…cavemen? |
The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical depiction of working-class life, epitomized by the Simpson family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield and parodies American culture and society, television, and the human condition. In recent times, the longest running American scripted primetime television series has gained massive following all over the world due to their "super-accurate predictions" of future events. Since its debut on December 17, 1989, the Simpsons has been absolutely spot on in over 50 predictions and counting. But I would be giving you the most shocking of them all which would definitely blow your mind. Ready? |

Love - probably the most used word of the last year or two. Love - the most complex but 'easy-thing-to-say'. At some point in our lives, we've all come in contact with this word but do we really know the meaning? I am considered to be very "strange" amongst my friends because I have never uttered that word - love. Like the old man said, always say what you know and truth is, I don't know what love means. I may tell a girl - " Oh, I really like you" or "I think we make a great team" but not in a romantic way like most opposites would fancy. Is this weird? Love - does it mean "like" or fancy? Or understanding? Or partnership? Or some one-time ticket to Paradise? What does love mean to you? Source: The LA Love Doctor |
brunofarad:Is that you trying too hard? LMFAO.... |
brunofarad:My answer? Turning blames won't help. Better to stand with the devil than drown in the deep, blue sea. |
IdioticNLmods:Hmmm... Whatever makes you leave my country is fine by me. |
brunofarad:Turning blames won't help. Better to stand with the devil than drown in the deep, blue sea. |
IdioticNLmods:Hehehe. You call your own brothers names?! Always washing your dirty linen in public... not surprised. And by the way, hope you'll ask Israel to help you develop educational system. |
TimFisher2:Dude. My great granddad died in that massacre. You think I didn't go through the history books before concluding about the Igbos? Shortly before the Asaba massacre, Biafran soldiers retreated from their Asaba base when they learnt the Nigerian soldiers where approaching... They burnt (or blew up) the Bridge linking two cities thus trapping civilians. Some stories had it that they didn't even let Asaba people know.... Is that how you treat a so-called ally? Nigeria and Biafra didn't do Asaba, Delta and the Niger Delta region any good. Both wanted their resources and nothing more but as they say, the devil you know... |
IdioticNLmods:Sure. I'll remind you of this sh*t when your brothers are spilling about "SS/SE". And it won't be long... |
