Google has launched a report, conducted by research group Alpha Beta, on the economic impact of geospatial services in Nigeria. The study shows that digital geospatial tools like Maps are making positive economic contributions around the globe to employment, emergency response and time management.

From next year, Nigeria’s first locally manufactured electric and solar powered cars will be on the streets. This follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by a firm, Oldang International Limited with Chinese companies, Halkoff Logistics and Hornson Development Limited, to produce non-fossil energy cars that should begin Nigeria’s entry into the global shift to electric cars. The project has strong backing of the Sokoto State government.

The team took home the first prize of N1,000,000.00 with an acceptance into an incubation programme superintended by the NCC through the USPF.

The number of active mobile network subscribers in Nigeria has increased to 139 million in August from 138 million that was recorded in July. The monthly Subscriber Technology Data published on the website of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has shown. The report indicates an increase of 295,685 in August over July.
