The Durban police have confirmed a heart-wrenching incident that took place on Friday night, where popular rapper Kiernon "AKA" Forbes was shot dead in a drive-by shooting.

The incident occurred on Florida Road, outside the Wish Restaurant, where AKA was reportedly standing at the time. Two cars are believed to have opened fire on the rapper, resulting in the loss of his life.

The tragedy didn't stop there as another person, who is believed to be AKA's bodyguard, was also shot and sustained injuries. A third person, who is reportedly a close friend of the rapper, was also shot and killed. The identity of this third individual is unknown at the moment.

The incident took place just before 10 pm, and the police immediately cordoned off the area. Shocked patrons of nearby restaurants confirmed that AKA was standing outside Wish when he was tragically shot.

Garrith Jamieson, a spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, confirmed that Florida Road has been closed off and that two people have been confirmed dead.

According to social media posts, AKA was scheduled to perform at a Durban night club, YUGO, as part of his birthday celebrations. However, this performance will now forever remain a painful memory for his fans.
