olukaygold:I really don't know about Innoson, but it would definitely be like the Asian designs which is synonymous to that of Europe It would look like this

One advantage i like about them is that they are easier to park unlike the Americans...Lagos can be congested, and the smaller the head, the better ![]() I also don't like them because it doesn't give much free space to work on the engine .. Very annoyingAlso, in the case of an accident, the driver can be very much affected Okay...At least, we can differentiate between both if we see them Bye everyone.. ![]() |

They come with beds (two, in some cases), air conditioning, TV and the current models also come with microwaves too.. Also, in the event of an accident, the engine is first impacted before it gets to the cabin. So, the driver is likely to be protected. They are very easy to fall in love with sha |
We see trucks everyday, but do you know that you can actually differentiate between a truck built for the American market and that built for Europe? ![]() Yes, you can even without knowing about Trucks. The difference is in the design of THE CABIN. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/2f/fa/20/2ffa209bb0eef61f8e172f18dafd1e6e.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/bd/Volvo_FH_stand_Volvo_Truckstarfestival_Assen_%289408932678%29_%282%29.jpg/640px-Volvo_FH_stand_Volvo_Truckstarfestival_Assen_%289408932678%29_%282%29.jpg The two pictures above shows the same carmaker (Volvo) with two different designs of trucks. The first picture shows a truck that is made for the American market, and the other shows a truck made for the European market. In the American made designs, the Cabin is behind the engine In the European designs, the Cabin is on top of the engine |
Tomorrow is going to be very busy for me, but let me type this down here. I'll start the sourcing tomorrow ![]() These are the parts I need to assemble a Bogie Axle Tunnel table Bundle spring Tunnel Housing Tunnel U-bolt Tunnel bushing Tunnel Oil seal Tunnel Washer Tunnel Nut Tunnel Cover Tunnel Plate Axle Seating Spring Cap Spring Cap rubber Wear plate Spring Cap U-bolt And.... Single Axles So these are all I need... Tomorrow, we would be sourcing for the parts, and then I'll let us know the number I need for each one ![]() |
Okay,....First things first ![]() When trying to buy parts for trailers in Lagos, there are two major markets you can source for parts.. 1) Berger (This is on Apapa Oshodi Expressway) 2) Trade fair (This is on Lagos Badagry expressway) The former is known for Tokunboh (second hand) parts, while the latter is known for New parts.. I have just discovered that there is a particular part that I can't get the new one currently... It has to be a Tokunboh ![]()
|
Sorry guys, I've been busy ![]() So, it seems the thread is no longer possible because the aim cannot be achieved. So we bought it new. But I'll still continue with the thread though. Let's see if it's worth it |
So a recap of what we want.. We want to buy all the parts of a Bogie axle and couple it, maybe it may be less than #2,200,000 The particular spec is a 28T Bogie Axle, or Super 30 Bogie (In our Nigerian English )This is what it looks like
|
Hello everyone.. It's been a very long time I created a thread. Sorry about that...Been busy ![]() So, recently I had some Bogie Axles for sale...All sold. ![]() Then I had someone that wants to buy a Bogie Axle, but sadly, my own is finished. Then I found another seller, but his is #2,200,000. ![]() So, we decided to check if we could couple it and maybe reduce the cost.... The purpose of the thread is to see if it's possible to do so, and still save some cash So....Leggo ![]() |

These are what would be used to build a road tanker Thanks for your time. Bye ![]() |
9) Handler You need just one piece 10) Sight glass You need 3 pieces 11) Discharge cable You need 2 rolls 12) Adaptors You need one piece
|
5) API Valve You need 3 pieces 6) Dust Cap You need 3 pieces 7) Mechanical operator You need just 1 piece 8 ) Dip tube You need 3 pieces
|
1) Manhole covers You need 3 pieces 2) Flange for Manhole covers You need 3 pieces 3) Bottom Valves You need 3 pieces 4) Flange for API Valves You need 3 pieces
|
Another local name for it is Manhole, for Tankers. Below is the list of the components you need to build a road tanker 1) Manhole covers 2) Flange for Manhole covers 3) Bottom Valves 4) Flange for API Valve 5) API Adopter Valve 6) Dust Cap 7) Mechanical operator 8 ) Dip Tube 9) Handler 10) Sight glass 11) Discharge cable 12) Male and Female Adaptor |
Ever seen a road tanker like this? ![]() https://www.independent.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/NNPC%E2%80%99s-fuel-tankers-queue-for-fuel.jpg I bet everybody has. This is called a Tanker It is usually built locally especially to transport Diesel, Petrol and Kerosene. I don't think Nigeria has the expertise to build an LPG tank (That is way above our knowledge for now) ![]() But anyways, you need to have a particular component to build a Tanker. That component is called TANKER FITTINGS They are installed in specific parts of the tank to aid the discharge of the product, and the keep them intact too. I'll use this thread to show us some of the components, incase we come across them ![]() |
Nuts www.nairaland.com/attachments/12736947_img20201124105924_jpeg1e24c400652a3691865cb3f31ac8e6a1 Cones www.nairaland.com/attachments/12736953_img20201124105908_jpeg3e41539eb2081363ee03337377c9a718 Sleeves www.nairaland.com/attachments/12736962_img20201124105850_jpeg0cc9e0131e2caf9f461eb10937f9c1c4 19*22 short adopter www.nairaland.com/attachments/12736995_img20201124105751_jpeg50609a0a796108f2a03b7f4a28956d38 Washer (This is the picture of the big one. So this is a list of all the items you need to prepare a Brake and Electrical System for a Trailer body Nuts Cones Sleeves 19*22 short adopter Small Washer Brake pipe Air Coupler Coupler fitting 22*27 short adopter Big Washer 22*27 Elbow adopter (Big L) 9 Hole Valve 4 Hole Valve Tank Valve Rear light 7 core Cable 22 T-junction Lock Nut Socket Light Reverse Alarm Brake pot/Servo Quick Release Valve I'll attach pictures in the next post ![]() |
Now, preparing the Brake and Electrical System of a Trailer body is dependent on the type of suspension the trailer is carrying Remember we have two common types of suspensions we use The Bogie Tri-axle, commonly called Langa-Langa I would go into the details later on for each, but I just want is to know what we need to build a brake system |
These are what we call Trailers https://3.imimg.com/data3/CG/OY/MY-9830796/elbow-500x500.png https://2.imimg.com/data2/DN/FD/MY-4340081/oil-tanker-500x500.jpg https://www.driverknowledgetests.com/resources/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/skeletal-trailer-3-768x576.jpg So, you see that a Tractor pulls a Trailer. A trailer is just what is attached to a tractor ![]() Now it is it's brake system we want to talk about (not the tractor) |
Before I begin, I would like us to understand what a Trailer is, and what a tractor is. Have you ever seen a something like this? https://p.globalsources.com/IMAGES/PDT/BIG/488/B1172247488.jpg This is what is called a Tractor. It is what pulls a Trailer Now let's see what a Trailer looks like |
Hello Guys, So I'd like to create a thread on what we need to prepare a Brake System for a Trailer body ![]() |
Fixed:Yes, we have the Double Axle Suspension. I'm sure you meant something like this
|
pacino26:We would be glad to provide the necessary suspension you'll need. ![]() What type of suspension do you want to fix in it? |

.. Very annoying
