Attorney General is usually a politician and it's strictly on appointment (Minister for federal and commissioner in the states)
They are usually addressed as Hon Minister of Justice and Attorney General (in the case of federal) or Him commissioner of Justice and Attorney General in thecase of state.

However, Solicitor General is the admin head of the ministry of justice being a career officer. He also doubles as the permanent secretary both in the state and federal level. They are called SG/PS

That's so not true. Being a civil servant in the state I can tell u categorically that is lie.
Fayemi did not pay us Sept 2014 salary and it was obvious even to the blind it was because the state allocation due was not paid until the day fayose was sworn in as governor in October
