Is it at this point that we pay the 18 410 naira for home delivery or we still wait.

Also since the passports are in the same envelope, is it one fee we are supposed to pay or we pay for each person?

Pls how many days will it take UPS to deliver the passport. VFS sent a message since on Friday that they have sent it through their courier partner but UPS is yet to send a tracking number. Please will UPS send a tracking number for the package or should we just wait for them to come deliver? Thank you

I think the study route for the Canada is better. You can’t do anything with visitor visa if you don’t have a spouse on study permit or PR. You can search for the Canada study visa thread and ask your questions there on how to get started. And yes, you guys need POF.

So I and my family were planning to go to Uk via study route by Jan 2024, but with this clamp down on dependent visa it might not be possible again. So we have been looking at the option of going to Canada via the visitor/tourist visa as my husband has his relatives there already or to any other European country like Netherlands or Luxembourg via school.
What are our chances of getting the Canada visitor/tourist visa without travel history? Does the visa require POF? If so how much? How long does it take? Should we settle for Europe instead of Canada?

We have been thinking of doing this because of the VFS delay in sending back passport. We just don’t know if it will be possible for the officer to attend to the sowp when coming in.

All he has to do is take the sowp ppr letter with him when he is traveling to Canada he should inform cbsa officers and show them the letter he would be stamp sowp sticker at entry ... Or rather still go to any Canada/Us border for stamping its just 30mins stuff no need for vfs delay

Please is it VFS OR IRCC should I contact? The VFS people are just something else.

You’ll need to send document for Sowp stamping. Contact that if it’s possible.

We apply for the visitor visa October 2022, but when it was taking time, we apply for the SOWP april 8th 2023.

Two things are possible :
1. after his medicals for the SOWP, I will expect that the SOWP process is almost complete. if there is no urgent need to travel, he can wait to complete it before leaving Nigeria.
2. after his medicals, he can travel to Canada. once they request his passport in Canada, he can send them an email that he is currently in Canada on a visitor visa and that they should advise him of where he can send his passport in Canada. if there are other options, IRCC will let him know.

N.B= I once submitted my passport to a CIC office in Canada while other members of my family were still in Nigeria and they sent theirs to Ghana.

We got a medical request for his SOWP application the next morning. Please can he travel to Canada with the visitor visa and get the SOWP at the point of entry or flag polling? You are absolutely correct. Yes, sowp is better than visitor visa for spouse. And yes, it’s a travel document and you don’t even need to buy a return ticket with this.

What do you mean by Sowp is not a travel document? Sowp is even preferred to vv for those with spouse in Canada. If you enter with vv, you’ll still need to covert to open work permit if you want to remain and work in Canada.

But don't carry chicken flavored food like
Knorr chicken, indomie chicken, Benny chicken stock.

Whatever you're carrying make sure it's dried
But don't forget to declare whatever food stuff
If you don't and the dog sniff it....they carry your hubby for secondary checking.

And he'll be fined for not declaring those food items

Must most people I know don't declare. They just try their luck and luckily the dog won't sniff it, but not everybody's luck is the same

For those that have collected their visitors visa from VFS....... please I beg you

1. Book a return ticket

2. Travel light (one luggage) for two weeks

3. Make a hotel/Airbnb reservations

4. Don't carry winter outfits (because summer
is approaching)

5. Carry at least a thousand dollars with you in
Cash

6. Don't carry certificate or resumé with you

7. If you have anything that will implicate you
on your phone delete it or a chat with a
Canadian boyfriend or girlfriend delete it

8. If that thing is so important and you don't want to loose, I suggest you save it on the cloud and delete it from your device or better still format your device

9. The CBSA officer have every right to go through your device and can still send you back home (yea....they have that right). That's why i strongly advice against flagpolling when converting your visitors visa to study or work permit at the border.

Because you didn't state truthfully at the airport when you arrived that you'll be looking for job or study and remain in Canada

So you'll have to prove THIS if you flagpole

SUGGESTION
Apply online instead from inside Canada using the new public policy (140 days processing time).

But if your blood dey hot and you can't wait for the processing time of 140 days, then go ahead and flagpole......it's your funeral.

It’s application fee. Probably there was a charge back on the card used for the payment. Did she pay herself or used agent?

Modified: Just saw she used an agent. The person probably used a fraudulent card or did a charge back after making payment. Your sister in-law should send a mail or webform explaining what happened and make the payment. She might be reconsidered. She’s really lucky to have escaped 5yrs ban.
