My name is Paul Nwosu Light, and I am the founder of Edutu.

For several years, I have worked with students, graduates and young African leaders. During that time, I noticed a painful pattern.

Many talented Nigerians miss life-changing opportunities, not because they are unqualified or lack potential, but because they:

1. Never hear about the opportunity.
2. See it after the deadline.
3. Do not understand whether they are eligible.
4. Apply without knowing how to position themselves.
5. Save dozens of links but forget to return to them.
6. Become overwhelmed by the amount of information online.

Scholarships, internships, fellowships, grants, graduate programmes and career opportunities are scattered across university websites, company pages, newsletters, LinkedIn posts, WhatsApp groups, Telegram channels and social media pages.

A person can spend hours searching and still not know which opportunity actually fits his or her qualifications, interests, country, educational background or career goals.

That is the problem we are building Edutu to solve.


WHAT IS EDUTU?

Edutu is a Nigerian AI-powered opportunity and career platform designed to help students, graduates, NYSC members, job seekers and young professionals discover opportunities that are relevant to them.

Instead of presenting everybody with the same endless list of links, Edutu is being developed to understand a user’s profile and goals, then help that person focus on opportunities that are more suitable.

These may include:

- Undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships
- Internships
- Fellowships
- Grants
- Graduate trainee programmes
- Competitions and challenges
- Training programmes
- Leadership programmes
- Career development opportunities
- Global programmes open to Nigerians and Africans


WHAT CAN YOU DO ON EDUTU?

On Edutu, users can:

1. Browse current opportunities

Users can search through scholarships, internships, fellowships, grants and career programmes in one place.

2. Receive more relevant recommendations

Edutu uses information about a person’s background, interests and goals to help narrow down the opportunities that may be suitable.

This is important because somebody with a 2:2, for example, should not waste time applying for programmes that strictly require a first class degree. There may be other strong opportunities for which that person is qualified.

3. Understand what to do next

Finding an opportunity is only the beginning.

Edutu provides roadmaps and guidance intended to help users understand the application requirements, prepare their documents and take the right steps before the deadline.

4. Save and track opportunities

Users can save opportunities they are interested in, monitor deadlines and organise their applications instead of depending only on screenshots or saved WhatsApp messages.

5. Access Edutu on different devices

Edutu can be accessed through the website, installed directly from a browser and accessed through the Android application.


WHY WE ARE NOT TRYING TO BUILD ANOTHER LISTING WEBSITE

There are already websites and social media pages that publish scholarship links.

The real challenge is what happens after somebody sees the link.

Does the person qualify?

What documents are required?

When is the deadline?

What should the person do first?

How can the person improve his or her application?

How can the person remember all the opportunities already saved?

Edutu’s long-term goal is to reduce the confusion between discovering an opportunity and submitting a well-prepared application.

We do not simply want people to see more opportunities. We want people to understand which opportunities fit them and how to prepare properly.

Our forefathers married at their 20s, 30s. When i mean forefathers, not 17th, 18th centuries. I meant 1930s down to 90s.

It shows how nigeria has changed alot(weak regime administrations).

Many generations from now might end up marrying in their 50s.

these days, phones are crazy expensive and not really worth it, i remember moving from redmi 8 to 10pro to 12pro plus and i made camera my focus and it seemed like it was actually getting worse, my best shots were from redmi8 gcam lol.
