What is the criteria and procedure for being a DGO for VConnect?
Because the process described on VConnect website seems not to be working.
Ask systematically... Then I pick it up from there, or you drop your email so that I'll send it to you.

Lol... Ain't a geek though, but am gonna try my very best. wink
Rooting of a phone simply means getting the full access to restricted areas of your phone. Like manufacturers feared one might be inexperience in handling/navigating through those areas, so they decided to put in a stop to reduce the risk of getting your phone bricked or damaged, and that's the reason why most MANUFACTURER says after a phone has been rooted you can't claim any warranty... But good news is, you can unroot a phone after which you've rooted it. Now that you've known that rooting is all about breaking restrictions and getting more freedom in exploring your phone.
What are the benefits?
You'll be free to try out any tricks that developers bring out. You'll download apps that basically without rooting you won't be able to use them. A very close example is running whatsapp+ on your phone, you can't run it without rooting it. And over time you'll see other benefits.

I actually don't know the basis for this question. The guy I quoted said his friend is "uneducated", hence, my response.

..&& no, people with secondary school certificates are not illiterates.

What success is to you may not necessarily be what I see as success. && no where in my post did I tag being an higher education graduate as being successful (except when such person sees it as one).
But you didn't part ways with poly and uni's controversy?
EducationRe: 10 Reasons Why A Polytechnic Graduate Can Never Equate To A University Graduate. by tempem: 5:33pm On Oct 25, 2014
padeolu:
In that context, I meant formal education.
oh, my bad! Didn't see well.
So, do you think only formal education could make a success?
Do people with informal education makes it out in life?
Can we call people who had both primary and secondary certificates illiterate?
And If we can't, why are we tagging only higher institutions with success?

Am so sure if someone should table that matter of poly or uni to your friend now, he might be mad at the person... No time to check on time... Let's be concern on how to secure a good Job....

This part of your post is so unnecessary. You don't have to be jobless to post on a forum, moreso, today is Saturday.

He isn't ranting about it. If you are well informed as I think you are (judgment based on ur posts from other threads), you'd have heard of a recent debate in the federal chambers concerning elevating polytechnic degree to tally at thesame level as the University degree. Having such debate on here isn't as bad as you have painted it to be.

you don't need to own a huge account, private jet or latest car to be considered as being successful. Success is attaining a goal you set for urself. Mere having a B.Sc degree is success to some.

if he will tell you truth, ask him that one thing that makes him sad. No matter how wealthy or successful you are, being uneducated is a sure way to drive mood swing each time the thought of being uneducated comes to ones mind.
And how would you define the word "Education"?

Look for a construction firm around you no matter how small. Offer yourself to work for free during long vacations. Don't wait till your school mandates you to go for SIWES. You can even attach yourself to a building contractor or any practicing civil engineer you know, as apprentice. There is Voluntary Industrial Experience (VIE) in developed countries whereby students can walk in to any company and apply to work for free just for the experience. It's unfortunate that's not the trend here. The point is, try to get as much work experience as you can before graduating. Proficiency in the use of civil engineering software like AUTO CAD, before graduating, will also be an advantage.
Yeah, I've learnt that too... Thank though. I'll keep all these to mind.

kayusbrown:
It all depends on your future plans.

Since you are interested in Engineering, I'll advise you go for ND. With ND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, you stand a chance of securing placement as Production Operator or Technician in many multinational companies and earn unbelievable income. You can work for 3years, save enough money and go to the UK for 2-years top-up degree in Engineering. Your 3years experience will give you an edge after your degree in the UK thereby landing you a juicy offer back here in Nigeria. That's a good plan, though it's not that straightforward or easy.

Alternatively, you can go for your pre-degree. Admission to 100level is guaranteed in most schools if you pass your pre-degree exams and meet the jamb cut-off (because most schools do register their pre-degree students for utme to regularise with jamb). That way you'll graduate at 26 (suppose there is no ASUU strike... lol) which is still ok. Most companies still set age limit of 28 in their graduate trainee programmes and all things being equal, you'll be less than that on completion of NYSC. So you are still on track. It is however more challenging to secure a job as fresh engineering graduate with a degree/HND than ND. One Engineer (degree/HND) is needed to supervise four Technicians (ND).

Experience is key in engineering. If you however don't have the intention to practice, perhaps you are interested in lecturing or want to be an engineering scientist, don't go the ND route. Get your first degree and proceed to masters and Ph.D thereafter.
Any help for civil engineering student? I mean how he could enjoy his stay being in school and chances of getting employed.. Currently in part2, if things works out fine, I should graduate by the age of 23... Hope that's OK too? Bro, what other things do you think I could learn that's in line with my course of study...

Christianity EtcRe: Is It Right For Our Sleep To Be Dosturbed Because Of Religious Crusade? by tempem: 3:55am On Oct 23, 2014
abatically:
First of all, before people start attacking me, I am a christian and I'm not here to discriminate anybody. For a long time now I hardly sleep at night because of one prayer or the other from the different churches in my neighbourhood. Yes, there are about 11 churches in my street alone. grin grin.

Anyway, there is this particular church that normally have program every night (seriously every night) and they have this really loud microphone. My sleep is so much dosturbed that I hardly get 2 hours of sleep because of their noise,. U can imagine when u are trying to sleep and what u keep hearing is DIE DIE DEI DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE from ur sleep. Its like everything about that church is DIE DIE DIE. Tell me how can someone sleep. I have thought about making a complaint to the community or local govt, but I'm afraid they might call me a sadist. But truth be told, this shouldn't be happening in a residential area. I thought we are battling a spiritual battle, so why can't they pray silently, or shout they want without using microphone (I'm sure everyone inside the church will hear even if they don't use microphone). Most of the people in that church don't have a work they are going in the morning so why disturb those that have work?

Everyone has a freedom of religion, be it christian, Islam, traditional or even occult. So my question is this, let's say I am a traditionist, and every night me and my occult crew do our things and make noise every night with loud microphone worshipping our idols doing ERIWO YAAAA. AYA GBO, AYA TO, every night... What will people say? I'm sure they would call the police to get me arrested. The irony here is white men brought religion into this country, but in their country u will never find churches disturbing the peace of neighbours in the night. So how come na we come carry am for head.? If u try this in the UK or the U.S. the neighbours would call the police and the church will be shut down if they don't take to correction.

So I am calling the religion experts. What do u think about this. Should I keep suffering and get woken up every night by sound of DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE, or what advice would u give me? Is it right for churches to disturb the peace of a neighbouhood? If that was a shrine what would u guys say?
It's so, so, alarming! I hate public disturbance though........... Churches like that should put in mind that God hates those who doesn't put others into consideration

the just 1 thing that is stopping you from making extra cash with autocad is that you have not approached people and inform them that you can help them with their autocad services (marketing). learn to market your skill and you have an extra source of income. if you will be interested in importation business refer to the link i posted at the top of this page as everything you will require is their. importation is very lucrative and you will surely bite your finger for discovering it this late. your success is my pride.

good evening to everyone on the thread
Lately, with what my school is turning us into- we go on strike day in day out, not to even mention suspensions, am sick of what life could eventually offer... A civil engineering student to be precise, studying at a college of technology;am just confused and thinking what can I do while am still at school to earn money and which is in line with my area of discipline.
Am into autocad, but just feeling like I learnt it for learning sake...
NB.... Never mind the way I poured out my feelings, couldn't know how to perfect my sayings than this... I'd be glad if even with little encouragement, you'd help.
