You're proud of Nigeria because you made it out of Nigeria. Go to the streets of Nigeria and ask people (mostly young people with liveable future) why they shouldn't be proud of Nigeria and they'd give you 200 reasons. So Alajika (the woman who owns an oil well because she was close to Mrs Babangida) is richer than Oprah Winfrey, and according to you the richest black woman? Rubbish! |
March 15 will live in infamy beyond the murder of Julius Caesar. Here are 10 events that occurred on that date: 1. Assassination of Julius Caesar, 44 B.C. Conspirators led by Marcus Junius Brutus stab dictator-for-life Julius Caesar to death before the Roman senate. Caesar was 55. 2. A Raid on Southern England, 1360 A French raiding party begins a 48-hour spree of rape, pillage and murder in southern England. King Edward III interrupts his own pillaging spree in France to launch reprisals, writes historian Barbara Tuchman, “on discovering that the French could act as viciously in his realm as the English did in France.” 3. Samoan Cyclone, 1889 A cyclone wrecks six warships—three U.S., three German—in the harbor at Apia, Samoa, leaving more than 200 sailors dead. (On the other hand, the ships represented each nation’s show of force in a competition to see who would annex the Samoan islands; the disaster averted a likely war.) 4. Czar Nicholas II Abdicates His Throne, 1917 Czar Nicholas II of Russia signs his abdication papers, ending a 304-year-old royal dynasty and ushering in Bolshevik rule. He and his family are taken captive and, in July 1918, executed before a firing squad. 5. Germany Occupies Czechoslovakia, 1939 Just six months after Czechoslovak leaders ceded the Sudetenland, Nazi troops seize the provinces of Bohemia and Moravia, effectively wiping Czechoslovakia off the map. 6. A Deadly Blizzard on the Great Plains, 1941 A Saturday-night blizzard strikes the northern Great Plains, leaving at least 60 people dead in North Dakota and Minnesota and six more in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. A light evening snow did not deter people from going out—“after all, Saturday night was the time for socializing,” Diane Boit of Hendrum, Minnesota, would recall—but “suddenly the wind switched, and a rumbling sound could be heard as 60 mile-an-hour winds swept down out of the north.” 7. World Record Rainfall, 1952 Rain falls on the Indian Ocean island of La Réunion—and keeps falling, hard enough to register the world’s most voluminous 24-hour rainfall: 73.62 inches. 8. CBS Cancels the “Ed Sullivan Show,” 1971 Word leaks that CBS-TV is canceling “The Ed Sullivan Show” after 23 years on the network, which also dumped Red Skelton and Jackie Gleason in the preceding month. A generation mourns. 9. Disappearing Ozone Layer, 1988 NASA reports that the ozone layer over the Northern Hemisphere has been depleted three times faster than predicted. 10. A New Global Health Scare, 2003 After accumulating reports of a mysterious respiratory disease afflicting patients and healthcare workers in China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada, the World Health Organization issues a heightened global health alert. The disease will soon become famous under the acronym SARS (for Sudden Acute Respiratory Syndrome).

Beto's in for 2020. Three-term Rep. Beto O'Rourke, D-Texas, noted for his Bobby Kennedy resemblance, Jack Kerouac-style road trips, stream-of-consciousness ramblings and an oh-so-close bid to topple Texas Sen. Ted Cruz last year, ended months of speculation by announcing a White House bid in a video he sent to supporters sometime in the wee hours of Thursday morning. "Amy and I are happy to share with you that I’m running to serve you as the next president of the United States of America," O'Rourke said. "This is a defining moment of truth for this country and for every single one of us. The challenges we face right now, the interconnected crises in our democracy, and our climate have never been greater.” 2020 DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFULS TO TAKE STAGE AT SXSW; BETO O'ROURKE TO ATTEND FILM PREMIERE ABOUT FAILED SENATE BID The congressman from El Paso grabbed national attention last summer and autumn, as he challenged Republican Cruz in the 2018 midterm elections. O’Rourke raked in an eye-popping $80 million during his campaign, thanks in part to his uplifting message and his mastery of social media. He quickly became a Democratic rock star. And like Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, another darling of the party’s progressive base, O’Rourke quickly reached celebrity status, being referenced only by his first name. O’Rourke narrowly lost to Cruz - by just over 200,000 votes out of more than eight million cast. After his better-than-expected performance against the GOP incumbent, there were immediate calls by some Democrats for O’Rourke to run for president. After saying days after the November elections that "I will not be a candidate for president in 2020,” O’Rourke quickly changed his tune, explaining that "I haven't made any decisions about anything yet.” By mid-December, he acknowledged at a town hall that was considering a White House run. FULL COVERAGE OF 2020 ELECTION Two national groups urging O’Rourke to launch a campaign sprung up just weeks after the 2018 midterms. In the ensuing months the groups held house parties and other events in the early voting primary and caucus states as they built up lists of O’Rourke supporters. In early January, with Beto mania at a fever pitch, O’Rourke live-streamed a visit to his dentist, which while going viral was also greeted with plenty of derision on social media. Days later, as the Democratic presidential contenders were busy building organizations and making frequent stops in the early voting states, O’Rourke tried to find clarity. So he embarked on a solo road trip across the country, posting frequent travel log dispatches on Medium, the on-line publishing platform. In a much anticipated early February interview with Oprah Winfrey, O’Rourke said he’d make a 2020 decisions “really soon… before the end of this month.” |
Beto O'Rourke to launch presidential bid... Hahaha! Another drunken F Demonrats trying so hard to figure out who's going to beat Trump? |

Former FBI legal counsel Lisa Page testified to Congress that the Justice Department ordered the FBI not to charge former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with “gross negligence” by mishandling classified information. Transcripts of Page’s closed-door testimony in July 2018 were released Tuesday by Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) on Tuesday, which included the following exchange with Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX): RATCLIFFE: So let me if I can, I know I’m testing your memory. But when you say advice you got from the Department, you’re making it sound like it was the Department that told you: You’re not going to charge gross negligence because we’re the prosecutors and we’re telling you we’re not going to … PAGE: That is correct. RATFLIFFE: …bring a case based on that. Ratcliffe highlighted the exchange on Twitter.... Page confirmed that the Department of Justice led by Attorney General Loretta Lynch had “multiple conversations” about charging Clinton with gross negligence but noted that it would be a rare decision. “[T]hey did not feel they could sustain a charge,” she said, referring to the Department of Justice. President Donald Trump reacted to the reports on Wednesday. “The just revealed FBI Agent Lisa Page transcripts make the Obama Justice Department look exactly like it was, a broken and corrupt machine,” he wrote. “Hopefully, justice will finally be served. Much more to come!” |

But media other than Fox doesnt care because it's not Trump. I'd be waiting for when we get an obstruction of Justice investigation. Obama? That Kenyan that's filled with evil but will always try to cover it up with his evil smile. |

"Empire" actor Jussie Smollett has been indicted on 16 felony counts following his Chicago attack allegations. The Cook County grand jury indictment, dated Thursday and made public on Friday, gives details of the disorderly conduct charge against Smollett, according to The Associated Press. It elaborates on the allegation that he falsely reported that he'd been attacked in late January. The indictment — eight counts from what he told the officer who responded to the report of the attack and eight for what he later told a detective — comes a little more than two weeks after prosecutors announced one felony count of the same charge. JUSSIE SMOLLETT'S 'EMPIRE' ROLE CUT FROM SEASON'S FINAL EPISODES, CREATORS SAY Following the news, attorney Mark Geragos — who is representing Smollett — said in a statement obtained by Fox News on Friday that "the fact of an indictment was not unexpected." Smollett could be facing up to 48 years in prison after being hit with an additional 15 counts of filing a false police report. Smollett was hit with the 15 additional felony disorderly conduct charges by a grand jury on March 7. He may also be forced to pay a fine of up to $400,000.

House Democrats votes in favor of illegal immigrant voting By Stephen Dinan - The Washington Times - Friday, March 8, 2019 House Democrats voted Friday to defend localities that allow illegal immigrants to vote in their elections, turning back a GOP attempt to discourage the practice. The vote marks a stunning reversal from just six months ago, when the chamber — then under GOP control — voted to decry illegal immigrant voting. “We are prepared to open up the political process and let all of the people come in,” Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat and hero of the civil rights movement, told colleagues as he led opposition to the GOP measure. |
