With regard to Biden, most of his support comes from elderly voters within the party, with those under 40 mostly supporting either Warren, Sanders or Harris. If the Dems want to turn out their liberal base (which largely stayed home in the swing states in 2016), they would need as many under 40 voters as they can muster by offering them a true progressive roadmap for the country. And I don’t see Biden as the guy who would motivate the liberal base to turn out enmasse in 2020.
