Onneh, subtlety to me should be part of politicking and politics.
The notion of being used and dump is a function of individual perception. This is because a lot of middle beltans have benefited politically, socially and otherwise from our friendship with the core North more than any region in the country. From political office holders to civil servants either military or paramilitary.

As for the war, it was a necessary evil then, borne out of the collective goal of keeping the country one.
Nigeria have two definitions:
1. The people
2. The geographical location

In a sane society, number 1 defines number 2.

Keeping Nigeria one with reference to only number 2 is nothing but folly.
To be keep the boundaries one but have the people divided is a waste of time and energy.

Unite the people and make them one, and you dont have to fight to keep the territories.
Why do you think Gideon Orkar did what he did?

Imagine Fulani invading other peoples lands and killing them..so, where is the one Nigeria?
See, it is only a matter of time, another war will break out and it might not even be igbos this time around.
PoliticsRe: North Is North, There Is No Middle Belt — Yahaya Kwande by Terkimbi01: 6:03am On Aug 22, 2017

Geographically we are in the middle belt.
Geopolitically we are in the North.
Politically we align with any zone(s) or region(s) that protects our interest and gat our back simply because politics is all about interest.

Our identity is more in our culture and conviction than the language we speak because of our diverse ethnicity.

Politically we are the most strategic region or zone among others. This is what the core North understand earlier and better than our near southern neighbour.

Unfortunately our most near-southern neighbour the SE thinks political interest should be by parochialism of religion and proximity whereas the core North rightly thinks it should be political bargain. This of course has given the later the political advantage over the years.
You are very intelligent and I love your reasoning.
However, on the different approaches by the core north and the south east, I see the north as very subtle.

What they give to us is Greek gifts. we don't really wield any power. they use us at will and dump us at will.

The core north plays us like a game.

as for the East, I think its time we explore a handshake.
don't ignore the ignoble role we played during the war courtesy of the core north.

from all standards, the Igbo's are not violent, they are not killers. On these two accounts the core north can go to blazes.
PoliticsRe: North Is North, There Is No Middle Belt — Yahaya Kwande by Terkimbi01: 5:54am On Aug 22, 2017
Maybe we used to be north.
not any more.

if north is north, why are the Fulani invading our lands And killing us?

As a result of the pressure from the Biafrans and the resultant effect in the Middle Belt, Areas quickly handed over to Paul Unongo just like they gave power to Gowon during the war.

If things heat up, they will look for a middle beltan and hand over the presidency.

our people need to wise up now.

Nigerians Have The Right To Live Anywhere, But............
Fulani have the right to kill them...

In Northern Nigeria, Moslems have the right to kill anyone who they fancied as an enemy of Islam.

Moslems have the right to own their own law, their own police, their own courts and government.

I am sorry for voting APC and Buhari.
God will surely give us the courage we need to bring down the chains of bondage nd slavery in our own inheritance.

Gideon Orkar, you are long gone, but you lie forever in my memories.

I would have been so disappointed with Kanu of a character if he had cancelled the order just like that.
Election boycott is a great tool in dealing with obstinate leaders.

if the man cancelled the order just like that, i would have cancelled the hero award i have given to him.

In Nigeria, i have two heroes
Late Gideon Orkar and
Nnamdi Kanu.

These two men dared to challenge the status quo.
When the rest of us are living in fear, they came out boldly and sacrificed even their lives.

Gideon died in the process.
I pray Kanu succeeds.

One thing is clear though,
Nigeria cannot remain the same..
The Middle Belt cannot continue to bleed...

The concept of election boycott as a tool in protest in a civilised society appeals to me.

I bought the idea, and even began to wish it extends to Benue.

imagine pulling the carpet off the feet of our opportunists politicians.

I was also happy when I saw news that Southern leaders are considering election boycott in 2019 unless there Nigeria is restructured.

It is my wish that Anambra people with stand firm and see this through.

So, today when I read about the cancellation of the boycott order, I decided to verify.

I saw a link for Radio Biafra here on Nairaland and launched the site.

then I began to listen to Radio Biafra live...

I was happy to hear that the order still stands.

the news by Nigerian news media about the order is false.

Kanu only said he would discuss with the leadership of his movement. that he could not take decision alone.

no decision has been taken...

From now onwards, I will be listening to radio Biafra.

obailala:
And my point is, what makes you so convinced that the condemnation of hate speeches by Osinbajo is because you asked Fulani to leave Middle Belt?...

The most disturbing hate speeches in the Nigerian airwaves today is undoubtedly the quit notice by Arewa youths, followed by the ones spewed by the ipob gang; I doubt I've even heard of the quit notice by your people. So what on earth makes you feel Osinbajo's statement condemning hate speeches had anything to do with you?... I hope you now see why I termed your outburst 'guilty conscience'?
it is not about my convictions, nor is it about whom Osinbajo is referring to.

here is my point:

Hate killings has being going on and no body is punished. people like Osinbajo remained dumb.

between hate killings and hate speeches, which one is worse?

Ignoring the killings but reacting to speech is what I find very annoying.

last 3 weeks, Ankpa in Benue South came under another attack. people were killed.

did Osinbajo deploy do anything in order to bring the murdered to book?

you will see what will happen.

Guilty conscience is written all over this your ranting epistle.

The Ag. President proscribed ALL forms of hate speeches irrespective of where it's coming from, he didnt exonerate any group. So I wonder what all these your ranting is all about.
Perhaps you find it hard to comprehend simple essay.
For your information, I am simply asking where Osinbajo and his likes kept their mouths and authorities when the Fulani and Islamic murders from the north went on killing spree all these while?

Is it because those at the receiving end are saying enough is enough?

Yes, I am guilty!!!
I hate the killers who are bent on wiping us out for no reason.

Osinbajo is only paying lip service to the problem.
He is reading riot act to hate speeches, what has he done against the killings?

Why has he not read any riot act against the invaders?

Look at it this way,
Mr. A kills at will, no body says anything.
Mr. B says, if Mr A does not stop, i will fight him, hen it is hate speech.

Just watch out, while Osinbajo is busy hunting for those with hate speeches, the Fulani will carry out another hate killings.
Osinbajo's lips will be glued at that one.

Did we wake up one morning and say Fulani should leave the middle belt?

PoliticsHate Speech Vs Hate Killings: Osinbajo Please Shut Up! by Terkimbi01(op): 9:35am On Aug 18, 2017
There has been so much hate killings in Nigeria.
And one particular section of the country has been the champion of these hate killings.

There is no part of Nigeria the Fulani has not gone on their killing expeditions.

The killings in the North as a result of hate for other religions by Moslems is numerous.

The Government has never taken any measures to stop the Fulani vampires and the Moslem Jihardists.

Xenophobic attacks in Nigeria by Nigerians against fellow Nigerians is far worse than all the Xenophobic attacks the world over.

The Nigerian government has done nothing.

Now, Moslems kill a non moslem in broad day light in the streets of Kano, the government will preach religious tolerance. no body will be arrested, no one will be punished.

Also, if the Fulani invades a Benue Community at 2.00 hours, burning houses, maiming and killing both the young and old, the Government will preach peace and tolerance.

No soldiers are deployed. No one is arrested, no one is punished.

On the other hand, if Terkimbi says Fulani must leave the Middle Belt so we can have our peace back, that's hate speech.

If Terkimbi says, we shall retaliate if the Fulani kill us again, that's terrorism.

And if Terkimbi says Nigeria is a failed country ruled by idiots, and we are better off in an independent nation, that becomes treason.

if Osinbajo does not know what to do in this chaos created by people like him by refusing to be leaders in deed, he should just shut up.

Yes Terkimbi hates violent men who kill and maim for no reason.

Yes, Terkimbi hate Nigeria, an open wound in the conscience of Britain. under the leadership of idiots.

Nonsense.

At what stage is a statement a hate speech?

Is it when a President says his government will only favour the part of a country that gave him 95% vote?

Is it when a traditional ruler says that if a particular group of people do not vote for his candidate they should be thrown into the Lagoon?

When a president is asked to resume work or resign after 100 days?

or when in particular? Please Nigerians I want to be educated.

When Fulani invades Benue Community killing and maiming, our people, its a farmers / herdsmen clash.

but when Terkimbi says Fulani must leave our lands, that's hate speech.

now, if Terkimbi says we shall retaliate further attacks on our people, that's terrorism.

and if Terkimbi were to say the middle belt want to be on her, own. that Nigeria is a failed state, that's treason.
