I Hate 9ja: u wld only sustain this bizness if only
1. U re focused
2. U av a target goal/aim
3. If u dont drink
4. If u dont womanize
5. Pray 4 Gods favour&blessings.
Goodluck
u still haven't given me how he will sustain himself as a business starter with that amount and no other source of income coming in .
the best way to move up in life is to have multiple streams of income and this is what i have given him
get a job even if it 20k a month
buy a land not more than 300k and resell it after 2 months ,
use the remaining 150k to be doing little little trading to support but the time he knows he will be have money coming in from 3 sources , if he dares plunge all that money in one business i pity him , he will grow leaner than prisoner inside kirikiri prison

akonucheinfo: Good advise, but is such advise for N500k? I doubt. Easier said than done.divide it into two, use half to invest on Landhuh That's 250k for Land lol. Pls where can I buy such land cos am interested.
he needs a job , that money is not enough to sustain him and grow a business in nigeria , he can get a land in Nigeria for 300k it doesn't have to be in Lagos , it may be in Ibadan or somewhere , land appreciates in Nigeria almost on a monthly basis , if he buys a plot of land for 300k in July and resells it in august for 330k the point is he is keeping his cash , he must find another biz to do to supplement his salary , the salary will be for his up keeping while he manages to grow the money he has left from the 500k

GoodSamaritan: Young man, listen to me, and listen real good. Am a businessman with 10 years experience. I registered my company during my NYSC. I advise u do the same now.

If u hv never been in business before, pls do not invest that money yet. Keep it in the bank & go and learn a trade first. Otherwise, u'll waste that money. MARK MY WORDS.

U don't need a paid job if u're an igbo guy with such an amount of money. Hope u know what I mean. Honestly, u don't need a paid job. What u hv is enough to make u an employer of labor.

If u are a Yoruba boy, I strongly advise u not to attend any party for the next 5 years till ur business is well-established. Am not tribalistic; Am just being honest here. Yorubas love to enjoy or party even when they have nothing. Pls be disciplined.

Swallow ur pride, put ur certificate aside, humble urself and learn a trade first. Your master may be an illiterate, just be humble enough to learn.

I can assure u that one day along the line an opportunity would show up & u'll use ur registered company or business name to contract and make cool money, using ur N500,000 as capital without borrowing or begging anyone or leaking the contract to anyone
dis one na long journey angry

dapo338: if u buy a land of 250k, omo onile will take that land back from u so no point in buying land if u don't have money to develop it.
That is what many of u don't understand, land appreciates in nigeria on a monthly basis.if he buys a plot of land for 250k by the end of the second month he can sell it for 300 to 350k depending on the location
500k is not enough to sit down on and say u won't get a job, there multimillionaires out there but still they go to their salary paying jobs everyday.at most times the job u are doing will open up the kind of business u can invest in.remeber in that 500k he will be feeding and also remeber profits won't start coming in immediately
NYSC › Re: What Business Can I Do with N500k, Advice Pls by texaco1: 6:42pm On Jul 09, 2013
First of all get a job ,even with that money u still need a regular salary job
Second divide the money into two
Use half of it on a fixed asset like land or something that u are sure will appreciate
Thirdly use the remaining half on importation business
or services sector try to identify an area ppl need aSsistance and exploit it
Pls don't go into products making or anything like that, the nigerian business climate is not too rosy
I'm also curious about the above. I have seen this many times with jewelry, what you see so glossy on Aliexpress, then you go to one of the big markets here, you see the very same thing, selling at some dirt cheap price. Two plausible deductions, either our Igbo brothers actually brought in container loads of these items, with its attendant cheaper prices, which validates what someone some pages back suggested people should look into. Another deduction could be that these same people went to the chinese to re-negotiate the quality of the ones we see on AE. Well, which is it?

For the importer, the golden word is caution. Don't be too much in a hurry to do what everybody is doing. Do your research very well before launching out. Look out for products that you believe haven't flooded the market yet, don't go overboard in your purchases; Try out with a few samples first to gauge the response from your target market. As much as possible, if you can team up with some trusted other importers, the better for you in order to get your stuff even far cheaper than the retail prices. So much to say... Hope someone will benefit from this.
Thank u sister ,I made mention of this issue then most of people running to aliexpress now will eventually lose out.what u are ordering at 100 dollars a piece and buying it in single like 2 pieces ,big heavy traders are going to china direct to negotiate and buy thousands at the rate of 40 dollars each.I advised ppl here to come together and pool their resources together to get a competitive bargain and price.but it seems everyone wants to be a importation boss.now the tablet market I am sure is already saturated, the jewellery too because big traders are going to dubai and saudi arabia to buy.at the end of the day ppl buying from aliexpress in singles will eventually lose out.the only option available for u guys interested in importing goods is to form a solid group among urselves like an investment group and secondly have dedicated marketers from this forum or elsewhere who will be to market ur goods at competitive prices
Without these most people here are just dashing aliexpress sellers money
Why is it always drug traficking? Hell yeah Igbos love doing business, business that pays with huge money. But y'll know pretty much that your hard earned money will be taken away from you and you stand a chance of spending the rest of your life in jail if you are caught doing fraud or drug traficking. Why are people so careless, doing risky things and stubborn? Dangote is celebrated everywhere in Nigeria but drug trafickers will never be celebrated anywhere. If you are on here and intending to go do drug business in any part of the world, i say shame on you and on who raised you. Pathetic human beings. Plus I'm Igbo.
This is the kind of statement that we need from ibo people.this sort of statement will help fellow nigerians in realizing that not all ibo ppl are criminally minded
