Obiagu1: Yes, indirectly you implicated him. You posted articles about brain development to justify your assertion that a 17 year old is not matured enough to have sex. All those articles were talking about brain development and maturity of an individual.
You, unknowingly, acknowledged you had sex before the known time a brain is fully matured and developed to make rational independent decisions and topped it off by questioning your current state of frontal lobe development. So it means that you had sex when you were not yet matured enough to make independent decisions on your own, so your ex-husband is guilty of what you call others. Secondly, you are not even matured enough to continue having sex until your brain is fully developed. So cease having sex immediately. Caution: Your frontal lobe development is showing... |

GustavoFring: Your articles did not specify the exact moment a teenager becomes emotionally mature.
Your articles did not specify why teenagers with underdeveloped brains who are clearly incapable of fully understanding their personal issues, are allowed a say in issues of society by being allowed to vote.
I appreciate you have expressed your personal opinion that teenagers should not be allowed to vote- presumably because of their underdeveloped frontal lobes
Now I read on this thread, that you first had sex aged 21- Can you prove that your own frontal lobe was developed at that time? This was your only question: Can you prove that your own frontal lobe was developed at that time? I believe I answered it. |

Obiagu1: ... and science said that a 17 year old girl cannot or is incapable of having sex? Or did science say that sex is dangerous and harmful to a 17 year old?
Where did you obtain this your so called science from? Your own imaginations or what? Here you go. GustavoFring: So when are they fully developed?
Does a teenager magically become a master of his/her emotions the second he/she turns twenty?
You say that they are not developed enough to fully understand the choices they make that directly affect their lives...yet Society trusts that an 18 year old is mature enough to choose a president to rule a nation?
I call BS
Modern society has come up with some ridiculous constructs viz a viz teenage sexuality and it's ironic that societal mores seem to be in direct contradiction of legal edicts.
I dont honestly understand how people can complain about this case, when the legal age of consent where I live is 16 years. Infact, the government is planning to drop it to 15! I'm you're huckleberry...(quote from the movie Tombstone) it means, "I'm right here, bring it on!" The part of the teen brain not yet fully developed is the frontal lobe, which is the part of the brain that manages impulse control, judgment, insight, and emotional control. So when teens engage in risky and/or foolish behavior, it's not just that they don't have life experience to know better, but that their brains have difficulty assessing consequences. Basically, teens have less myelin (the fatty coating that surrounds nerve cells). Nerve cells need myelin to send signals throughout the brain. So in teen brains, the synapses that are supposed to connect the frontal lobe to the rest of the brain are not working as well as they should. As a result, teens can't access those skills based in the frontal lobe easily. http://health.howstuffworks.com/human-body/systems/nervous-system/are-teens-brains-fully-developed.htmF In adults, various parts of the brain work together to evaluate choices, make decisions and act accordingly in each situation. The teenage brain doesn't appear to work like this. For comparison's sake, think of the teenage brain as an entertainment center that hasn't been fully hooked up. There are loose wires, so that the speaker system isn't working with the DVD player, which in turn hasn't been formatted to work with the television yet. And to top it all off, the remote control hasn't even arrived! http://science.howstuffworks.com/life/teenage-brain1.htmhttp://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=124119468http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publications/the-teen-brain-still-under-construction/http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/teenbrain/work/adolescent.htmlhttp://www.healthychildren.org/English/ages-stages/teen/Pages/Whats-Going-On-in-the-Teenage-Brain.aspxhttp://www.urmc.rochester.edu/encyclopedia/content.aspx?ContentTypeID=1&ContentID=3051 |

Obiagu1: It's not by being rude, you think you are making sense in what you say.
Now it is common sense and decency. Whose common sense? Your own common sense or the public's common sense that made the laws?
Whose decency? Your own definition of decency? I'm now telling you my own decency dictates that it is wrong to have sex before you turn 25, how about that? As I said...if you have no common sense or decency, there is the science. |
Romance › Re: She Is Seriously Tempting Me by texanomaly(f): 5:23pm On Dec 05, 2013 |
Obiagu1: Just address/answer my questions... The answer to both questions is the same. Common Sense and decency. Then there is the science, if you have neither of those. It is a fact that teenagers are not fully developed emotionally and mentally. |
