Romance › Re: My Boyfriend Always Dodges Responsibilities by texanomaly(f): 2:25am On Feb 06, 2017 |
Curioussme: Hi peeps, I've been dating this guy for almost 4 years now, and I've noticed when I need a major financial assistance from him, he'll just enter low key and be giving flimsy excuses like he doesn't have plans for me.
The most recent one that happened is that I need to pay my rent and the money with me isn't enough he's also giving excuses that he has commitments.
Sincerely, am tired of these excuses, I can't imagine getting married to a man who can't support me while am single what will he now do when we're married. He acts like someone who dodges responsibilities by all means.
Am confused right now,is he just a stingy person or what? The last time I needed money from him, I had to quarrel with him about it before he finally gave me money Guys pls help me out You've been dating for 4 years? You don't have to worry about wondering if this guy will make a good husband. He obviously has no intention of marrying you. Who can blame him? You expect him to support you already? Are you dating your father? You are not married, and it sounds like you have your own place. If he wanted to pay for sex he could get it with a lot less hassles. |

River of Dreams by Tex
Ever changing It flows As it consciously cascades over and along its path.
Bending and twisting It flows As it steadily streams toward the sea.
Like life's blood It flows As it roars rapidly over rocky terrain.
Staying the course It flows As it buoyantly bears my box of dreams.
Unceasingly It flows Washing away worries and woes, As it spills into a sea of tranquility. 1 Like 1 Share |
Romance › Re: Why Do Ugly Girls Marry Earlier Than Pretty Ones by texanomaly(f): 2:54am On Feb 05, 2017 |
Maybe she is not ugly to him. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Or...
Maybe he figures she is more wholesome and clean living
........
Maybe he figures she is more likely a virgin.
........
Maybe he thinks she is less likely to cheat or have the opertunity to cheat.
........
He knows the home is taken care of, the wife is loyal, and not likely to question his moves or leave him. He can now cheat with all the "pretty" girls he wants and not worry about reprisals.
Maybe... |

HAIKU
Nobody Cares Anyway
A lonely owl's cry Into the night sky he flies Sap dripping from trees
Butterflies
Natures blanket wrapped From humble beginnings till gossamer wings fly
Tarzan
Swooping down from above He who swings from tree tops high Calling Mary Jane
9/11
Like snow in winter Ashes floating to the ground Cold forgetful hearts
Into Thy Arms Oh Lord
A lifetime of love Golden leaves fall gracefully And the sun sets
Intolerance
Intelligent life? Lapdogs loudly bark Elephants go stomping
Love or Hate
Seeds that drift aloft Propagating fruits thereof In our hearts dwelling 2 Likes 2 Shares |

JackBizzle: So clueless.
Nigerian culture generally does not include cremation.
People are usually buried in their houses/backyards/cemeteries etc
Great idea, wrong place. I am well aware of the bolded. That is why I'm asking. I'm curious about what NLers think of this idea...if any would ever consider this. Why or why not? |

CFCman: Results have been mixed Some politicians have had their illicit assets seized by the EFCC, but official corruption still thrives. Just within the last 3 weeks, the FG discovered that wages were being paid to over 50,000 "ghost workers" Well at least some of them are being caught. |

Aside the fact that the health system in Nigeria is also full of those who rob, cheat and steal from the populous. |
Celebrities › Re: Gay Activist Bisi Alimi Blast Nigeria Celebs: Stop Begging For Money When Sick by texanomaly(f): 1:32am On Jan 02, 2017 |
CFCman: It could be a single-payer system or government and private insurance scheme existing together.
People who are employed by a company may be provided health insurance by their companies; or those who are unemployed (and earn less than a certain amount annually) could benefit from a public insurance program to be jointly run by the federal government and the states. A portion of the trillion Naira tax revenue and/or proceeds from royalties could fund the govt program.
Of course, celebrities who earn millions every year, would have to buy health insurance on their own. And you think those who rob the government coffers regularly will be willing to give up the funds to supply health insurance for a people they obviously care nothing about...hence the thievery? |

Untitled By Tex
A lonesome sound whispers on the wind. It ruffles my hair and chokes my cries, As if to remind me of a closeness long forgotten. An unremembered melody, Like a sigh that floats upon the air.
It dances and sways among the trees, Blowing through the windows of my mind, Scattering leaves across the floor in hues of red and gold. A pungent scent, unrecognized, yet familiar Ascends to set in motion its proliferation.
It's fragrance swirls around the room. A gust picks it up and carries it Across the threshold of my memory, Into the empty spaces of my heart To settle there, as if to stay.
With this influx, an expansion begins. It ebbs and flows, hollowing out closed off spaces And filling them with its sweet music. Like an amphitheater, the sound echoes off the walls. It fills the air...no longer consigned to oblivion. 2 Likes 1 Share |

plaetton: What I am saying, which I trust that you fully understand, is that something like death, the cessation of life, what happens at moment of death , and afterwards, cannot be fully explained until an individual experiences the very phenomenon of death. I find it interesting that a man who claims to believe in logic and science would make such a statement as the bolded. Life, in its simplest form, is energy. Energy never ceases to exist. It simply changes form. So why do you believe we cease. Is it not logic to believe we continue in another form? plaetton: Everything woven around the phenomenon are simply legends, myths and illusions. Simple science can be applied here to deduce the outcome. Since spiritual energy cannot be quantified, in the end, I suppose, technically this theory is only hypothesis till it can be proven. In which case, it can only be proven in death. Anyway, logic and science still have sway here. plaetton: For example, I imagine you as a lanky, tall, dark complexion man with a slightly receding hairline. I imagine you to be somewhat snobbish and introverted , until you reach a level of comfort with people , before you liven up to unleash your WORD SORCERY on hapless souls. Deepsight is real. But these are my illusions of Deepsight.
Only the EXPERIENCE of meeting you in person would prove these illusions right or completely wrong. So close, and yet so far. plaetton: In a way , yes.
If you haven't been to the city of Paris, everything, every fantasy you have about the city of Paris are mere illusions, until such a time that you have the experience of visiting or being in Paris. Same thing with NEW York city, or Hollywood. I think you are confusing illusion and fantasy. Paris is not an illusion. It is, in fact, a real place. I'm not sure this is the best example to use to prove your point. DeepSight: No, really they are imaginations or projections of what Paris might be like.
You still have not got the point: get it now: An illusion would be actually visiting Paris- but understanding that what one sees and perceives is actually a simulation. Its not really there. It's an existential illusion. The existential illusion we live in prior to death. Somehow when existentialism becomes all consuming, we forget to "live" and begin to only exist.Even if life itself is only and illusion, it is still the "reality" we currently find ourselves in. Isn't it then wiser to attend to living in this reality? If only, for nothing else but to save our own sanity. If we are, as you seem to think, just a lab experiment, why simply exist to eventually die? Why not live? Who's to say our observers do not wish us well? Perhaps those who fail to flourish in this illusion are merely "failed experiments". |
