Why do we, as human beings, concern ourselve with questions like this? We should be asking what we can do to help our neighbor. We should be asking what we can do to bring a smile to someone's face. We should be asking what we can do to improve ourselves so we can improve the situation of others. *sighs*

I have long considered agriculture the future of Nigeria. The information in this post is on point. It is undeniable that agriculture can be a major player in the developing economy. So where does Nigeria go from here? How does the FG implement a plan that will ultimately help ALL Nigerians?

Infrastructure is a place to start. Without access to markets there can be no agricultural progress. Improved roads and railways with access to major markets and ports is a necessity. These improvements will also create jobs. If the government wants to create jobs that will benefit all Nigerians, improve infrastructure. While this infrastructural revolution is going on the FG can begin to educate farmers on new and improved methods, provide farm subsidies, and give incentives for students who begin agricultural studies at Uni.

Not only should the FG invest in these areas, they can apply for grants that will provide $$$ for the development of agriculture in African countries. These organizations should be sought out and utilized. There are programs at universities throughout the USA that provide education and help for developing countries in agriculture. Nigeria could easily become a leading exporter of goods not just an importer.
