Family › Re: My Wife Insisting That Her Pastor Must officiate our child naming ceremony. by Teymanhenry(f): 7:21am On Jul 19, 2024 |
BlindAngel: That's the church she was attending before we got married, so I don't want to stop her in order for it not to seems like I'm wicked and for her not to call me names.
Yesterday she reminded me that after our marriage my family forced her to do thanks giving at our church. She has been saying this for long, but stopped, until yesterday.
I told her that doing thanks giving at our church is now a bad thing or something that's forceful?
She cried a lot yesterday because of our argument of this naming.
Same tears she used in forcing me into getting married to her when I wasn't in anyway ready. We don't know you nor your wife, but from the story you gave us, if true then your wife is clearly manipulating you. Her former pastor does hold the utmost right to spearhead the naming ceremony of your child. Sometimes a man must take drastic decisions no matter how much his wife will nag or cry. Why is she insisting he takes the ceremony? Why is the decision almost causing you both the marriage? Ask these questions, in fact you can call the pastor yourself and speak with him straight up. That is my counsel, from one married man to another. |

In Lafia, Nasarawa state, the death toll especially amongst men has been on the rise recently due to this economic hardship. The aged are dying of hypertension/high blood pressure while the young are committing suicide daily. I used to wonder what would make a man commit suicide until I became depressed around March this year. Thank God for my friend Victor who stayed with me for weeks, comforted and encouraged me. Depression is not a place to be |

Politics › Re: Minimum Wage : Tinubu, Labour To Resume Talks Thursday by Teymanhenry(f): 7:52am On Jul 16, 2024 |
Increase the minimum wage and these are the following possible consequences 1. Increase in salaries for both private and government sectors and taxes will drastically increase. 2. Private school teachers( primary, secondary and tertiary) salaries will increase thus students tuition will drastically increase. 3. Financial institutions will have to increase their loan interest rates, tarrifs, unit cost and all other charges in order to meet up with the required minimum wage. 4. Farmers will have to increase the cost of food cos most of them operate on loans. 5. All other sectors will have to find ways of increasing bills in other to pay workers. The list goes on and on. 6. Traders will definitely increase prices of commodities knowing we have influx of cash in the country..
The most likely result will be : 1. the devaluation of the naira 2. Increased hardship especially for none salary earners 3. Increase insecurity |

fergie001: Tinubu will not withhold it, the Govs are a powerful unit so much that when they gang up, it is almost impossible to beat them.
The best Tinubu will do is give them time before the end of the year to conduct LG elections. So you think it's the responsibility of the governors to conduct elections? Are they not the independent Electoral body? |

reiddecuti: And those ronus thinking that Dangote refinery will be the game changer instead of pressing government neck to revive at least 2 out of the 4 government own refinery, they said no.
This is how the government (the really cabals) have sworn never to see the petroleum sector work, hence the reason Dangote might find it difficult sourcing crude from Nigeria.
The eldorado we yell in this country is still far. Are you aware that Dangote is complaining that Nigeria and it's marketers have refused to sell him crude oil that they prefer exporting to foreign buyers? |

Jman06: Closer to which masses Yeye
Watch as those so called chairmen (who are mostly touts) would use the funds from FG to buy the security apparatus over to keep the so called grassroots far far away!
I honestly think the state governors would do better works at the local government levels. This is because governors are usually more refined and experienced in leadership than the LG chairmen!
Some Nigerian politicians like to take hasty and uninformed decisions just for the spur of the moment. That is how I see the judgement Just have a rethink of when LGA have autonomy, we complained but things were 1 million times better. Absolute power corrupt absolutely they say right? That's why governors become absolutely corrupt |

helinues: The LG in Nigeria would really have a tough time with the state governors and their puppets state assembly for this autonomy issue.
Imagine under the cage of the state governor, the Kosofe LG boss still able to do something meaningful. Now imagine being in full control of LG funds directly from FG If this LGA autonomy is implemented. It's a massive win for democracy. LGA chairmen are closer to the masses than the governors and hence will be easily held accountable. Elections will be more competitive. I'm assuming for sum LGA elections will be more important than Governorship elections |
