The problem with the Igbos was basically longthroat but they shot themselves in the leg.
When I read the history of Nigeria, lots of versions,I put most of the blame on the Igbos.,.a little on the whites.....
Igbos thought the Hausa Fulanis....because they were not so educated...would be overridden but things went haywire and the Hausa Fulanis became experts in the act of politics, divide and rule, deceit and betrayals.
Thank you! You just said it well.

Meanwhile, the Yorubas and other South minorities they tried to relegate to the background politically found a way to become relevant.

All the people that moved against secession pre and post independence were Igbos. They thought the odds will always favour them.

pasol4real:
South west should not contest at all, they should leave the two major parties to present a candidate from the south east just the way it was done in 1999.
Anything short of this the south east will support the north to retain power.
There’s a reason for this. The se is not necessarily avoiding a duel with the sw, but we all know that the odds are in favor of the sw.This is because the apc is currently in power n the apc is the major party of the Yorubas just as the pdp is the major party of the igbos.
Truth is the odds will always be on the side of the ruling party.
All things been equal the igbos would defeat the yorubas resoundingly in any political contest in Nigeria.
You think APC will risk losing out on the presidencyhuh

Your last statement (the bolded) is just a comic relief though. I'm sure you don't believe it yourself. cool

Yes SW overwhelmingly supported in 2011 but still it doesn't justify the betrayal in 2015 ,you know?
If you actually studied the general elections of 2015 you will notice that the religion card and regional card was played then. That's a fact .
That's why GEJ won massively in SE, SS (PDP strongholds) just like Buhari won massively in NW, NE and significantly NC. Buhari been a northerner normally had majority of northerners support. This was the kind of support southerners should have given GEJ but SW rather queued behind buhari at the expense of their fellow southerner GEJ. You may choose to call it whatever you like but that's sheer betrayal .You may think that was just PDP Vs APC but everyone knows that election was anchored on regional sentiments.
You have a jaundiced view of the whole thing. You are not a politician.

If i could generalize both the SW and the SE have at one point or the other betrayed the whole South in the past.
You are not wrong.

If Buhari will not handover to SW, he will simply do like OBJ did and look for someone from SS (Obj did that in form of Vice president when he paired Jonathan with Yaradua because he knows what it means to have SE on the ticket). A SS candidate have far more national appeal than SE in Nigeria any day. They will rule Nigeria again before SE ever smell it. cool

Oga lukumonu, the SS that you insult and betrayed in 2015 dislike you even more than the SE. There is no single state in SS controlled your party today.

The 'Edo nor be lagos' slogan in the SS is clearly a protest against yoruba style of politics. And yet these are the Edos you claim are your closest cousins in the SS. grin

The signs are very clear that the rest of the south dislikes you and greedy style if politics but in the usual yoruba utopian way of deceiving themselves, you lots are too daft to embrace the bitter truth that stares you right in the face. grin

If presidency is given to only Igbomen in APC and PDP,which party do you think the Igbos will vote for? grin

Have the Igbos ever played any other card than the one they are planning to play in 2023?

They kept doing the same thing and kept wallowing in sorrow.
That short history you displayed with that picture only showed how Igbos have been betraying the whole South in the past. They even did worse before Independence just because according to them... "WE WANT TO DOMINATE WEST AFRICA!" hahaha

Definitely not a yoruba. Mr ewedu muslim, The chances are hugely against you yorubas if you've not gotten the memo with all that is going on in APC, you better get it now.

Moreover the rest of the South are totally against you yoruba, so where will you get your votes, how can you win when you've lost 8 out of 11 national elections since 1959?
This is only in your imagination. Stop taking NL noise very seriously. The kind of shock you guys will get when you realise how SS will support Yoruba presidency over the North will send you to the underworld... grin

Now, Kaduna is also letting us know that they're not Lagos "Economically"

This is good for our democracy....

Tinubu has destroyed the Jewel of the SW politically, economically and morally.
Any bad news about Lagos is always openly celebrated by you guys.

Your parents celebrated on major highways when FCT was moved from Lagos to Abuja in the early 1990s as if they have been granted Biafra. They thought that would be the end of Lagos.

But whenever there is a major development today, you are always quick to say "Lagos is a former FCT", "Lagos is a no man's land", etc... Who do una like thishuh

Yari said South. He didn't say South East. It is the reporter (probably an Igbo man) that was trying to raise you guys hope. There is no part of what Yari said that suggested that he's supporting an Igbo man, go and read again. SW and SS are all South. cool

speak for yourself. I have always known it was Igbo's turn to rule. I predicted it from the day buhari won as a civilian president. The Igbo 2023 presidential flag bearer already knows himself. No long story here.
You can achieve your Presidential ambition in PDP. That is the only thing that make sense.

Expecting APC that you guys hate with perfect hatred, APC that you all call Hausa and Yoruba party, APC that is highly demonized in your region to field an Igbo candidate is just insane.

I know if APC zone it to the East you will still not vote that candidate, so what's the pointhuh

Whenever a Northerner make a comment against 2023 Southern presidency, the Igbos will start mocking Tinubu, filling every thread here with tantrums against Tinubu... saying "Tinubu how market?"

But when a Northerner make a comment in support of Southern 2023 presidency, they quickly forget to mention Tinubu and start shouting "Igbo presidency".

Let me remind my Igbo brethren that South is SS, SW, SE. It can go to any of the 3 zones that is ready to play real politics. cool
