Balogun Eko is an Indigene of Eko from the Tapa Oshodi Family
Tapa Oshodi was the Balogun of Lagos under Oba Kosoko.
Both Father and Grandfather of the speaker were Balogun Eko (War Minister of Eko)

He too has told you that Benin Collected Taxes from Traders going to its Isale Eko market

Lagos Island doesn't belong to Benin
It was the Slave Market that belonged to Benin because Alaafin and Awori had granted Benin Permission to have a trading Post there
and that was on Awori Yoruba Land

Oba of Lagos was Babaloja of the Isale Eko Slave Market
That was why his income was from Trading and taxing Traders there
Bros! There is no part of Lagos that belongs to Benin ( the permission to set up a post in a tiny area around the Island was given by a Yoruba king). The Binis know, the Igbos know, everybody knows!

Igbos only think the only way to get back at Yorubas for keeping them in their place in Lagos is by steering up the Benin controversy every time but they will eventually see the opposite of what they plan to achieve with that; an average Yoruba is now more interested in the politics of Lagos now than ever. What they should rather plan to do is to simply come and carry Lagos through all the South Western states and plant it in other region.

Engagements is what these guys seek and you are giving them the attention they want. If somebody says the master bedroom inside your apartment is not part of your house you will quickly realize that it's either the person is completely m@d or plainly mischievous and desperately seek attention.

Better to ignore them until they come around to carry Lagos.

So you don't even consider the Yoruba Awori and Ijebu among the Owners of Lagos

No wonder they chased your fathers out of Port Harcourt and Calabar

When you want to buy Land in Lagos please make sure you pay for it in the Oba of Benin's Palace so your money can disappear and don't bother the Yorubas afterwards
We are not interested

Bye
Ignore him. He's nursing the pain of generational defeat and only grasping at straws, the oro declared around governorship election period that Obidients are still crying about till today, was it a Bini, Igbo or Hausa oro? 😆

Its not easy to come from a clan of losers and I can only sympathise with him.

Ibadan was created in 1829, hundreds of years after Lagos was already mentioned in maps and also mentioned as being a part of Benin. You basically don't know a thing about history, all you do is propagate fairytales which you confuse with history.
Chinedu, go and recruit strong men from Oba of Benin's palace and come and carry Lagos and after carrying Lagos, pass through Ogun state, part of Oyo state and Ondo state, then plant it in one of the four Local Governments in Benin.

Congratulations, you have now achieved your aim, Lagos no longer belong to the Yorubas or South West. 🎉 🎉 🎉

Regional government is dead!
Gowon killed it.

Aguiyi Ironsi killed our regional government not Gowon

Try and say the truth for once, Igbos killed our regional Government in Nigeria because of desperation to rule over others.

The irony of this thread is that the loudest negative responses are from people who have not read a single work by either Soyinka or Achebe.

Literary illiterates and mental midgets who care overwhelmingly more about the “tribe” of the writer than his literary output.
The fact that Achebe's work make more sense to you doesn't mean that Soyinka's work won't make more sense to the majority.

You talk like a typical Obidient.

Ndume has been in the national assembly since 2023, that's 21 years (will be 25 years by 2027 when he would be seeking reelection again).

He's one of the most corrupt senators alive, always defending rubbish all these years but since he has attacked Tinubu this time, he has turned "saints" to the Igbos.

$BTC will outperform most ALTs in the long run.

BTC dey always humble everybody. It’s very funny how everybody kept saying BTC might never touch 56k this year.

BTC touched 56K and stayed in that region for weeks to show everybody that nobody can tell it what to do.

No one knows what’s gonna happen to BTC next, BTC could go another massive dump to 35k today and stay there for years and BTC could also rally up within hours to 60k,70, 80k.

I am nursing my loss but I can HODL. But I am taking profit all across boards whenever ETH hit 4k
You have a good point. And that is why nobody with long term plans should ignore $BTC just because "it is now expensive" or "it won't make you rich like altcoins" talks.

$BTC can go to 20k tomorrow morning but it will eventually outperform and outlive all the coins in existence today.

Can we all just give this a rest?

Geographically, Lagos is Yoruba land and practices most of the sociocultural beliefs of the general Yoruba traditions.

Non-Yorubas seriously need to stop being obsessed by what other ethnic groups do.

Some Igbos staying in the south east should stop making life difficult for other southern ethnic groups residing in the south west with thier silly games of one upmanship.

If the Oba of Lagos says Lagos is not part of Yoruba land, leave him to his own people sharing boundaries and culture to discuss.
Thank you. Na the Igbos obsession gangan make me dey more interested in Lagos politics now. 😆

btw, if you read that interview Oba of Lagos never said Lagos is not Yoruba land, he was only talking about the cosmopolitan nature of Lagos.

So sorry about that bro.

I wanted to type an epistle for you but your moniker is comforting enough. Your story is a bit related to my past (I even thought I would hit millions before my 21st birthday) but one thing I later realized is that in life, the number of times we will fail may be more than the number of times we win, but what matters is that we win big eventually.

I wish you well.

You're not smart as you claim.
I sometimes approach life in a political way. If a politician is very popular and loved somewhere, the easiest way for an unknown one to be recognized is to keep attacking that popular one (he can even start forming activist) and the best thing that can happen to that unknown person is for that popular person to start replying. So if I know I'm already popular somewhere I pretend like all those "unknown" attackers don't exist.

This post is not about me. cool

Why did you people keep spreading lies. Was Obasanjo the Yorubas choice in 1999. It is on record that igbos voted massively for Tofa against Abiola. You are the hypocrite so I will quote you.
Lol I be wan ignore the clo.wn before jare.

They voted Shagari against Awolowo, they voted Tofa against Abiola, even when Northerners zoned presidency to SW in 1999 to compensate for Abiola's saga of 1993, Igbos politicians still contested the primaries against the Yorubas but were roundly defeated.

They only voted for Obasanjo because the election was Yoruba vs Yoruba and they went for the one Yorubas didn't want at that time. 😆

Some tribalistic idiots will now flood this peaceful thread with their stupidity forgetting that they are just being brainwashed by the political elites!!

How can someone lie to you that igbos vote on tribalism and you believe? In this country, igbos have voted massively for Hausas (Yaradua, Shagari, Atiku) and also voted yorubas (Obasanjo, MKO)

Please can anyone show me when in the history of this country has the Hausas and Yorubas massively voted for an igbo man?

2023 election was the only time igbos wanted to vote their own but you call them tribalistic!
Is that not hypocrisy?

I know you're already thinking I'm igbo but guess what??

I DON'T CARE grin grin

If you cannot tell me when in the history of this country has Yorubas or Hausas massively voted for an igbo man to be president, dont quote me with your hypocrisy! grin grin grin
How is this related to the topic? Una no dey tire??

People will create posts that have absolutely nothing to do with Igbos, then you people will flood it with "if it's Igbo", "Igbo this, Igbo that etc etc" and when people start replying you the right way, the same you Igbos will start crying that "how does this post concern Igbo now?", "remove Igbo from your mouth" yen yen yen

There was so much noise when $BTC hit 1k USD for the first time in the late 2013 but the retracement that followed (more than 70% dip) discouraged some of us that were building up interest then. It took $BTC another 3 years to hit the 1k again and I remember my friend who was more into crypto then saying BTC will still dip back to around 500 but today it is almost 60k. For every upward move $BTC had up till 2020, he always thought $BTC will do what it did in 2013/2014. That is the same way $BTC will leave many of us behind. 😆

$BTC is currently not doing anything different from what it has always done, the problem is that we keep analysing it on daily basis which I feel is not too healthy. $BTC can play around for months (we call it accumulation) and have the expected/anticipated move within 3 days, even the 100k BTC most influencers are anticipating now may happen within a week.

So guys calm down, relax, get busy and distracted, concentrate on your normal job, but don't forget to keep investing what you can afford in $BTC so that you can retire early and enjoy your middle/old age.

Gracias.

Whatever gain you are making on alts/memes, try to buy BTC with a percentage from it. Always pay your tithe to BTC, that's your "priest" in this crypto space lol...

98.9876% of the current memes/alts won't be here in the next 10-20 years but $BTC will transcend this generation.

I'm totally convinced that $BTC will be sold for at least 500k USD in our life time.

Given how you people packaged Obi, I am disappointed in the timing of that kangaroo election. It is better to not even conduct the election at all. How is conducting election two months to the tenure expiration different from a governor borrowing money few weeks to the end of his administration.

If you had any integrity in you, you would have moral questions about the timing of that election. Even in the link you provided, it was stated that the election was mostly a sham in many local governments.

I have absolutely no problem with Obi, but his supporters. You guys elevated him above every Nigerian politician, even though he has many baggages that were carefully suppressed by Obidients. You viciously attack those who are curious enough to find him out.

Obi does not deserve the hype Obidient make of him. He is just like any other politician that is deceitful, greedy, pretentious and pseudo-democratic.

A better pitch for Obi presidency would have been to have a president of Igbo ethnicity, which is very valid given that the SE have been excluded politically at the federal level. Due to arrogance, cunning and deceit, Obidients decided to market his as some messiah with impeccable admistrative credentials. Shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God bless you 🙏
