TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Theadoredone(f):
Hello Hello my people! smiley

Please has anyone recently extended/renewed a Skilled Worker Dependant child Visa (Under 9 years old) within the UK?

Did you have to take your child (ren) physically to a Biometric center in the UK or were you able to use the App for Biometrics?

My husband and I were able to use the Biometrics App for ours but I'm wondering if it'll be the same for children or they'll just ask us to upload documents and that'll be all..

This information will be really helpful in planning but I can't seem to find a specific answer on the gov.uk website.

Many thanks my people

Hi Osoderi,

First, give yourself a pat on the back for coming this far and always listen to your "inner coach" , not your "inner critic".
There's always something to learn from an interview experience.

When you get their feedback, look through it and if there's an area/part you supposedly scored low, develop on it and use that to prepare for your next interview.

Admin jobs are usually competitive and one would need to demonstrate one's knowledge /skill with practical examples similar to what they expect of you on the job. Your qualification should also give you an edge - I suppose what you have is higher than what they're asking for sef right? (Most typically ask for GCSE or A-Level, depending on the organisation)

Maybe they had an internal candidate who's already used to the system or even previously worked with the boss in a different capacity, or they had another strong candidate coming from a previous role within the UK and was also able to knock the interview out of the park.
Either way, I have no doubt you were a strong candidate for you to have made it to the final stage.

You could also start looking at lesser-known firms: It might be a lot easier to get a job with those... get your UK experience there, and then reapply to the big four.

Keep at it! Wishing you God's best.

Osoderi:
I am not happy here, after putting in all my best in job interview for a PA role in one of the big four accounting firm, i was successful in the first stage I did in Nigeria, the final interview was in uk , I was asked the same questions which I knew I did well, just for me to receive a regret mail that I was unsuccessful, I keep asking my self what went wrong, is it because I don't have UK experience? I put in my best and have years of experience in the role. What went wrong ( feeling so sad). I need advice please.

What can I do to get adminstrative jobs in the UK, honestly I have been applying. I know the job that I can easily get is care work, but I don't really like it. Please I need advice to stand my feet in this UK what best to start doing.

Just need advice to be strong in this UK.

Please if there is anybody living in Northampton kindly let me know, I am really feeling alone here.

Many thanks

Many thanks @Missjekyll

Do you know if registering the business (with the government) is a requirement for Google listing?

My business is unregistered in the UK and I currently operate from home as I plan to take on paid employment as well.

I'm fairly new here and not ready to start dealing with all the paperwork associated with business registration just yet.

The Hairdresser Lady, leave your number at the African shops near you.
Also list your business on Google.

That's where I get my hairdressers from.

Monthly rent of £570 for a 3 bed though undecided
Isn't this too good to be true..

teeebest:
Hello, please I need advice/suggestions.

I will be travelling to the UK in January with my family as an international student. While searching for accommodation, I got a 3 bedroom flat in Durham. Unfortunately, I couldn't get someone to do viewing for me (though the landlady immediately agreed that I sent someone and also dropped her phone numbers). So, I opted for virtual viewing and everything looks good.

She is not yet married and she said she's been in the UK for 6 years. Can someone co-own a property in UK in this short period?(She's Ghanaian and the other person is Nigerian). I was told to pay a deposit of £500 while I will pay the monthly rent of £570 when we are ready to move in. She didn't request for a guarantor as well.

She always sound nice and ready to help. Infact, she agreed that I can pay half of the deposit now and the balance in January before we arrive.

Elders, is it possible that this woman want to scam me or it's just one of those things? I got to know about the co-owner when I got the rent contract and according to her, she has a lower share in the property. The account number for payment is also hers.

Can I proceed please?

Please, I will appreciate sharing of UKVI mail or how to contact them. It's been almost 44working days since my wife application, and we've not received anything. She did her biometrics 20,October. Perhaps, sending them a paid mail or call will help if anyone can share how to get that done. Thanks

"Have residence rights in the UK"

Does "residence right" in this context include someone who has a BRP, regardless of whether the person is a citizen or not?

Lifeisgoody:
This is not true
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Theadoredone(f):
Not yet o, 33 working days now.
Tracking changed to Transferred to VAC on Tuesday but hasn't moved since then.
Is your "biometrics done" row still on red or has it changed to green?

gistbite:
Thank you. Have you received yours?
