My point was that every state in the United States contributes to the overall economy of the country. It’s impossible for every state to have it all, it’s just not realistic. I doubt there is any county in the world like this. So what’s with the useless comparisons here? As long as it’s the east and people are moving about within the region, i don’t see the big deal.

Yes!!! But I heard the sponsors and the network make more money from BBNaija alone. The amount of money made just from Nigerians is astronomical. I doubt if BBA will come back if this is the case. It might just be BBNaija and BBMzansi for now.

My only issue with BBA is the voting style, they should get rid of country voting and keep it at raw percentage votes. Someone might only win a majority of votes in two countries and have a lower overall percentage of total votes vs another person that may have a higher total percentage of votes without actually winning a majority vote in any country and ultimately still be sent home. The current voting system promotes nationalism and takes away from the show by rewarding undeserving housemates.

Karen most definitely would have been thrown to the wolves even if the male rep was deaf and dumb. Vina was really Karen’s saving grace. Amen for that.

Let’s also not forget how Nigerians were still cursing Goldie, even in death, because of her behavior in the BBA house. EVEN IN DEATH! Imagine! Sick society!

People will call nina all types of names while praising miracle and absolving him of all crimes. At some point. People were foolishly trying to make miracle out as a victim. Imagine attacking only Nina for the sin both committed

It was so sad seeing people put Nina under miracle and act as if all she achieved was because of miracle.
Even when her fans voted for her and gave her 15% of votes to keep her in the house. Some people still tried to attribute her continued stay in the House to miracle.

Some People only liked her when she made miracle happy. When she and miracle had their fights, these same people would throw all blames to her and she would be called all types of names. While saint miracle who is never wrong gets a pass, they would attack her for the littlest things, while explain away all of miracle's faults. They never liked to Praise Nina alone. They treated Nina as a prop for miracle.
It was too sad.

The reason I mentioned women is because they are the largest viewers and voters of these kind of shows. I would not doubt that most of Miracles votes came from women. Yes men definitely create the sexist environment and perpetuate it, but far too many women go along with it which continues its cycle. We have to stop enabling men by no longer treating each other like dirt and holding men accountable and to the same standards that they set for us.

Reading what you said about the viewers attitude towards Nina pissed me off. I do not regret tuning out one bit. I cannot stand it.

Most women coming to this show should just have it in mind to come for free self-promotion or for simply for the experience, because there’s a 99% chance, they will leave without the grand prize.

I am just going to do what I can for myself and my loved ones, I was done with being a Naira land messiah a long time ago. Many women have Stockholm syndrome and they like being treated unfairly and relegated to the background.

Look at Bisola of last year BBN, she is clearly more entertaining than dull efe who won, she was far more lively and vivacious but she didn't win. Let's turn the tables and assume Bisola was male and efe was female, efe would never have won just because of poverty stories when a more entertaining Bisola was there.

Even up til now it is more glaring everyday that efe was the wrong choice because apart from his failed music career what else is he known for? Bisola has done and is still doing a string of adverts, movies and hosting gigs while efe and his poverty stories have faded into oblivion.

I washed my hands of anything Big Brother related when i realized Nigeria has a serious problem supporting their female reps/housemates. I used to watch BBA and noticed this pattern during season 8 when people tried to sell Melvin, the piece of furniture, over lively and sweet-spirited Beverly. We even promoted Dilish more than Beverly and Melvin combined, and she ultimately won the prize. We were played for suckers.

Nigerians began to repeat the same foolish behavior the following season with Lillian and Tayo, and picking favor with the small girl from Uganda (Tayo’s friend) over our own female rep. Calling her ashawo and all types of names. For what? When another housemate disrespected her by throwing a condom at her, no outrage from Nigerians. They could only get defensive where Tayo was concerned. She was evicted early and that’s when i decided to wash my hands of this show. Never in the history of BBA has Nigeria voted their female rep over their male rep, even when she is clearly more deserving. We are literally the ONLY African country that does this. We truly hate our women.

I always say thank God Karen Igho was paired up with another female rep, otherwise, she would have gone home empty handed. That was the only time in Big Brother history where Nigerians were FORCED to support a female rep for once in their miserable lives.

Big Brother, as far as Nigeria is concerned,is just a show where the men are in actual competition to win the money while the women are just used for entertainment purposes and to ultimately escort one of the male housemates to the grand prize.

Despite Nigerians and their fake holier than thou attitude, a serial fornicator on live TV garnered enough votes and won the grand prize. This goes to show that a female with high entertainment value, even on her BEST behavior, can never ever win the prize. That’s the message that was just sent yesterday. Imagine people campaigning that they will “sacrifice” Nina for Miracle. *rolls eyes*

Our moral compass is selective AF and only applies to women. Look at how Nina was shamed but Miracle is still praised and can garner enough votes to win the money. Are we alright?

Women, we are our own worst enemies. We continue the cycle of sexism and misogyny in our society because the first teacher of children is the mother; culture, values, and the whole lot is instilled in us by our mothers. Nigerian women, stop being foolish.

Nigerians needs a serious wake-up call.

Of course the female foricator gets evicted weeks ago while the male fornicator can still garner votes and win the money. Nigerians with their selective moral compass. Everyone wants to put on their morality pants when it comes to Cee-C, Nina, or other women. I stumbled upon this thread while googling for something else, but it took me five minutes of scrolling to realize why I stopped coming to NL in the first place. People really have nothing better to do than to boast about their states that cant even compete with the most basic city in South Africa or Angola. LMAO. We need to have small shame, please.

On another note, one should not expect EVERY STATE in Nigeria to be like Lagos. Even in the United States, such is not the case.

There are states that serve the sole purpose of extracting natural resources (Wyoming, West Virginia)
There are states that mainly serve the purpose of leisure/tourism (Hawaii, Florida, Nevada)
There are states that serve as financial centers (New York)
There are states that serve the purpose of manufacturing (New Jersey, Michigan, Ohio)
There are also states that serve the purpose of all of the above (California)

Do people not understand that at one point, there was only the eastern region? And later they created Anambra and Imo State from the Eastern region? Anambra state had Enugu as it's adminstrative capital and Onitsha as its financial capital; Awka, Nnewi, Abakaliki, etc were just small towns then. Imo state also had Owerri as its adminstrative Capital and Aba as its financial capital; Orlu, Okigwe, Umuahia, etc were also just small towns then. So the infrastructure that makes Aba and Onitsha what it is has existed long before there were 5 newly created eastern states. That's why I'm not understanding the arguments here. While governors need to make more of an effort to invest in their state, remember some states lost their entire economy when divided, therefore no longer have that luxury of building on top of what was already there.

If a person in Nebraska studied computer engineering or IT, the likelihood that they'll move to California to find a job in the tech industry is very high. That is normal here. People move where they're are jobs. Not everywhere in America is going to have silicon valley at it's doorstep. Why don't Nigerians grasp this concept or are they blinded by pride and tribalism?? As far as it is the east, what is the big deal?

And for the person who keeps mentioning Port Harcourt, please don't even go there. Port Harcourt is only heavily populated because people ran down in droves thinking they'll get a share of the oil money. Unfortunately, that was not the reality for 99% of the people who found themselves there. This is why Port Harcourt is so poorly planned and unorganized littered with shanty bungalows everywhere you turn. The city has since decayed into a disorganized slum, which is why crime is ripe there, making it the most dangerous city in Nigeria. This is not an attack, this is an honest observation. For those of you complaining about "equal number of slots," I'm sorry to inform you that such actions WILL NOT curb regional voting. Of what benefit is adding West African slots? If there is a final 5, it'll still come down to who is the last standing person in their region. (For example: 2 WA, 2 EA, 1 SADC) and the SADC person wins, no?

The solution is to change the voting system entirely. Spade's suggestion of percentage voting is the best option. No need adding a bunch of WA slots that Nigerians would most likely want to use at their disposal anyway. Rewind to BBA The Chase with the Eilkem-SL vote in the final; Folks wanted Elikem gone to have all the WA votes for Melvin. I ask again, what will adding slots really do to curb regionalism? NOT A DAMN THING.

Only reason Sierra Leone didn't come this season is because of the Ebola crisis plaguing the country.

If such slots should be added in WA, I only see Cameroon being useful.
