A lead character must have....well, CHARACTER. The perfect male lead is one who is assertive, abrasive, strong, smart, intuitive, sometimes aggressive. His harmatia(tragic flaw) could be his temper, his inability to use logic over emotions etc. He MUST have one or many ANTAGONIST(S)- Tayo is the only HM with antagonists. Yes, it's okay to be predictable, afterall we all knew that Andre and Lola would fight and make-up and fight again, swear off each other, make up again and keep going in that circle (MY HEART BEATS FOR LOLA). We all knew Idris would jump in Ella's bed after professing his love to Goitse, isn't that predictable? Where is his suspense? Moving on...The lead character must be able to draw out emotions from viewers, you should laugh with the protagonist, cry with the antagonist, get angry at the protagonist, as in so angry you wish you could slap him. At some points you feel his pain and wish you could hug him. When he confronts rivals, you cheer him on. You hope things get better for him at certain points, but you have it in mind that it could be worse.....THIS IS NOT TAYO'S STORY. Just a synopsis, I want everyone to know what a STORY is before I tell you Tayo's story. It will come later in the day hopefully

Even among thieves morals are cherished that's why there's the saying "there's such a thing as honor among thieves. And there are certain moral qualities that we expect more from women than men. Thats the way it is and its not a bad thing.

Lol Lily wanted to "mess up" Tayo's game by begging him to beat the drum so she could twerk. People (Nigerians) immediately called for her eviction. Lily then didn't go to comfort Tayo as a friend, after one incident like that. Someone even went as far as to assume she is doing it to pick favor with Nigerians, while Tayo is viewed in a bad light.
Lily was a disgrace yet Esther praised and loved by Nigerians. I'm guessing mainly due to her friendship with Tayo (Melvin/Dillish crap all over again).

You might disagree and that is fine but Ellah did play a good game earlier...not the way I would play it but it was working until...we know what happened...

Now onto your question...my dear I do not concur to the "Lilian is shameful" story and I still do not know where that comes from...Lily's crime was only being a contestant at the same time with Tayo who is a really strong character and showed the different dimensions to his personality very early in the show...If Tayo was Arthur and Lily was a Dillish...believe me she would still be on the show...that is the reality...

I actually replied based on the gender talk and never saw the lily is shameful question...

We all know Dillish played a calculative game. But what I'm stressing is those who provided entertainment while still displaying "good morals."

I just want people to drop that self-righteous act they always put on when concerning female housemates. BBA is rated 18+ for a reason. It is assumed that everyone is mature enough for the content of the show. Why suggest someone that's lively be sacrificed on the show because they aren't acting like Sister Mary? Yet the Sister Mary's of the show add absolutely NOTHING to the house. Imagine Dillish being used as the yardstick of someone playing the game. If we continue to toe that line, BBA will continue going DOWN-HILL AND STRAIGHT TO THE DOGS.

Last year when the chasemates started, Beverly was obviously the favourite over Melvin at the beginning (at least for me and majority of people I know) but as time went by we all know the story...her antics and conversations became shameful to say the least (bear in mind I aint judging her cos no one is perfect but just saying the fact we all saw)...then Melvin with his good boy attitude became the Naija favorite as people decided to accept there was probably a quiet side to Nigerians and not just loudness...however Melvin was never gonna win it...never! Now onto this year, Lilian came with her own swag and all that but she was no match for Tayo's own character...dude is crazy and loveable at the same time...Lilian always seemed to be one way while Tayo showed all sort of colours most especially in the first two weeks with all the crying, apologising and sometimes bipolar attitudes...trust me honestly take a sample of the population and how many people wouldnt want to see more of that in a show that's supposed to be all about entertainment.

I would like a bba where the Naija female rep gets more love than the guy, however until we learn that "its a man's world but the women who know their onions are actually in control" the male reps will keep coming out tops. Look at Ellah who had all it takes to win even the sympathy vote as Uganda has never won it but she threw it all away after playing a great game for weeks...so that's the reality...men do not need to do so much but unfortunately the women need to get smarter and make extra efforts to take what belongs to them and they can...afterall every man is born of a woman...Dillish is a typical example...

For starters, Beverly was NEVER the preferred housemate, maybe only among your friends and a few other Nigerians, but not with the majority.

As far as I'm concerned, Dillish was a BORITE, over-hyped and sold to Africans by Nigerians because of her good looks, famzing, and association with Melvin. That is how she clinched the money. The balance of good character and entertainment didn't come from her either.


Ellah was not the least bit entertaining. Her "man-hungry" antics were her only talking points this season. So she was entertaining when she was playing her game with a married man, KC Moore? Please don't mention Ellah either.
EMPHASIS ON GOOD CHARACTER

It's not whether Tayo was preferred or not, my grouse was why should someone say a vibrant Lily is "shameful" amongst all the ladies and should be sent home for it. I asked who provided "entertainment coupled with class" this season and he couldn't even answer the question. We all know the answer is NOBODY. And then these same folks have the audacity to COMPLAIN about this season.

But why am I even bothering myself anyway? After all, an adulterer carried the money home in Season 2, so I shouldn't expect too much from Africans.

I disagree to an extent.

(1) When Vina failed to pick up in the entertainment department, Nigerians quickly ported to Karen as the preferred Naija rep. Yes, Nigerians were judging Karen hard in the beginning on their "morality" grounds as usual. I never argued that. I said the tied turned in her favor around week 5.
I was on all those same forum pages too, and I can tell you Nigerians were the ones to defend her when other countries kept insulting her due to her various fights with other housemates.

(2) I disagree. I remember all the arguments I myself and my other Nigerian pals got into defending Karen. After fighting with almost everyone in the house, she was hated on by almost every other country. As for Vina, most couldn't stand her oyinbo accent, and called her more British than Nigerian. Especially when she tried to downplay people that speak Pigin English.
Yes Karen sold herself, but do you really Karen's win had nothing to do with Nigerians selling her to Africa? Especially how harshly females are judged on this show? If she didn't have the backing of her country, she wouldn't have won. Simple. Which is why I think it was 50/50.

The balance between being a lady and being fun is very difficult to achieve but gives you an edge. And the fact is most of Denrele's girls can't spell the word ':Lady' though they are fun lovers.

Uhhhhh..... Yet Karen won, didn't she? She was Denrele's girl and was not very lady-like or "moral" at all. But guess what? Nigerians hyped her, defended her, argued for her, convinced others to overlook her flaws, and focus on her energetic/fun side. IT WORKED. We even nicknamed her "diamond in the rough." By week 5 it went from most Africans hating her to most of them loving her.
It's 50 percent of conduct in the house and the other 50 percent is how the viewers sell you to Africa.

Nigerians have learnt to be humble and asking for votes nicely from other countries. Melvin's loss was majorly due to the fact that most nigerians were really overconfident and kept insulting other countries thinking that it has become a trend for our reps to always win. But this yr, it is different. I think we have learnt our lessons and it is really paying off. I see Tayo winning this.

I highly doubt that was the case. People simply didn't vote for him coupled with the fact that Nigerians hyped and "sold" Dillish to Africa more than our own reps. That is the TRUTH.
