The second Heesen largest superyacht, 65-metre Galactica Star, was announced sold on July 25, with Fraser representing the seller and Burgess representing the buyer. The vessel was listed for sale earlier this year asking $ 42,000,000, as a result of a notorious corruption case in Nigeria.

Custom-built by Dutch yard Heesen in 2013, the vessel seconds only to the builder’s 70-metre Galactica Super Nova in terms of LOA. She features exterior styling by Omega Architects, engineering by Van Oossanen & Associates, finished by interiors from the boards of Bannenberg & Rowell.

In April 2019, the vessel was offered for sale in a sealed bid arrangement, proposed by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Republic of Nigeria and approved by U.S. federal court. The sale process roots back to a corruption case against two Nigerian nationals.

Allegedly, the superyacht was originally owned by Nigerian oil magnate Kolawole Aluko, who is one of four defendants accused of cheating Nigeria out of almost $1.8 billion in siphoned crude oil sales, reports The Marine News. The U.S. government also accused Aluko and another oil executive, Olajide Omokore, of laundering money in the United States and using it to acquire the yacht, among other assets.

The US and Nigerian governments received Federal Court approval to sell the arrested superyacht due to high maintenance and dockage fees, estimating the combined cost at around $170,000 per month. Managed by Fraser, the vessel was listed at $42,000,000.

Galactica Star accommodates up to 12 guests overnight in 6 cabins, comprising a master suite, 1 VIP stateroom, and 4 double cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Powered by 2 MTU 5,592 HP diesel engines and propelled by twin screw propellers, Galactica Star is capable of a top speed of 27 knots, and comfortably cruises at 24 knots. With her 90,000 fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,200 nautical miles at 14 knots. Her water tanks store around 30,000 litres of freshwater.

The yacht used to be popular for charter among celebrities, for instance, once rented by American music industry power couple, Jay Z and Beyonce for a holiday cruise as reported in the media.

The Tank Limo is probably the first and only stretched tank in the world that you can hire. It's situated in the U.K. and it's perfectly road legal. Now, just in case you're in the area and your son or daughter needs a ride for their prom night, you now have a new option. Why rent a Bentley or Rolls-Royce when you can be a bit (or a lot) different, right?

The tank limo started 30 years ago when Mead, the owner got two examples into his possession. At that time, his aim was to keep one and sell one. However, before he could even deliver, a company asked to rent one which returned more than half of the tank's value in just one day. From then on, he saw it as a business opportunity.

According to Mead, With its dimensions and massive weight, the Tank Limo is easy to manoeuvre. That's because it turns in the middle, which makes it more flexible than a stretched Hummer.

Rates start at £1,600 or around $2,000 at the current exchange rates, that's 750,000 naira.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has declared his administration’s readiness to partner with the government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the areas of traffic management and security.

The Governor disclosed this when he received the Consul-General of the UAE Consulate in Nigeria, Dr Abdulla Al-Mandoos in Alausa at the weekend.

Sanwo-Olu noted that UAE, in the last decade, had become a choice destination for Nigerian tourists and businessmen. This revelation, the Governor said, should deepen the existing bilateral agreements between Nigeria and UAE.

He said: “As a government, we have several things to learn from the story of UAE’s transformation. Dubai, which is the country’s commercial hub, shares so many similarities with Lagos. This is why I am elated to receive Dr. Al-mandoos and we welcome him.

"Let me disclose that, Lagos is ready to deepen the relationship between the two countries and we are working on collaborations in traffic management and security," the Governor reiterated.

Sanwo-Olu said there would also be collaborations in harnessing Lagos cultural potential to expand local tourism business. He expressed optimism that the envoy’s visit would deepen trade and yield positive results for both countries.

“We are hoping that in your tenure, we shall further expand and grow the relationship of the two countries,” the Governor said.

Responding, Dr. Al-mandoos said the aim of his visit was to get cooperation and support of Lagos government on various areas of interest between Lagos and UAE.

The diplomat promised there would be collaborations in the areas of security and education, noting that the partnership would assist the state to improve its tourism potential.

He said: “It’s my pleasure to meet the Governor of Lagos to consolidate our cooperation and good friendship over the years. My government is looking at supporting Lagos in several areas, which include education and security. This partnership, we believe, will promote businesses and stability of our countries.”

Dr Al-mandoos leveraged the meeting to push the consulate’s land request to the Governor to build its office and a cultural centre.

The envoy said the proposed cultural centre would assist the two countries to build a strong socio-cultural bond, which would further strengthen their relationship.

This decision marks the first time in history that the Olympic and Paralympic Games involve citizens and manufacture winning medals using recycled metal. Designed by Junichi Kawanishi, there are 5,000 medals in total that have been produced from those small electronic devices, thanks to people all over japan that contribute to this project. By recycling all those unused components, this project wants to show the world Japan’s effort to contribute to a sustainable society and it certainly becomes the legacy of Tokyo 2020 Games.

Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL) has responded to the plea by Lagosians with the addition of Obalende-Oshodi-Obalende route to the existing LBSL bus routes and operations.

The Managing Director of LBSL, Mr. Idowu Oguntona, who disclosed this today at Ikeja, said the introduction of the Oshodi-Obalende route is the response to the request by Lagosians calling for the extension of bus operation to the route in order to ease transportation challenges being faced daily by masses that ply the route.

While revealing that the bus fare for the new route is N200 (Two Hundred naira only) per one-way trip, he disclosed that LBSL management has introduced Point of Sales (POS) machine for the purchase of bus tickets on some routes across the metropolis.

According to him, the POS ticketing is presently available on Oshodi-Obalende-Oshodi, Berger-Oshodi-Berger, Berger-CMS/TBS-Berger, Oshodi-CMS/TBS-Oshodi routes and it is expected to be extended to others very soon.

Recall that the Lagos Bus Services Limited, which started operation on 1st of May, 2019 after the formal commissioning of the Oshodi bus terminal, commenced operations on five routes and has so far transported about 600,000 passengers with a fleet of 85 new buses

When you thought you have seen the weirdest of all innovations in this world, Nigerians kept coming up with theirs. We have seen a series of stuff danfo drivers use in controlling their buses and we seem not to get enough.

A driver is pictured in Lagos using a showerhead as his controlling gear in Lagos. According to the images obtained by AutoReportNG, we noticed that the real gear appears to be broken and very short, the creative driver decided to use the showerhead as a supplement to aide the new gear.

Who says Naija are not innovative?

Japanese car brand Nissan has extended its global partnership with City Football Group (CFG) and signed a new ambassador in Pep Guardiola.

Under the deal, Nissan will continue as the group’s Official Automotive Partner in the UK, US and Australia, with exposure at all CFG properties in those markets.

The rights include LED time and exposure at Manchester City men’s and women’s fixtures at the Etihad Stadium and Academy Stadium, and LED time at New York City’s Yankee Stadium, and Melbourne City’s AAMI Park.

Now, as part of a continuation of that deal, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been named a Nissan brand ambassador.

“Nissan was the first ever partner of City Football Group in 2014,” said the group’s senior VP of partnerships, Damian Willoughby. “It was the first global business to understand our vision and our objectives and see the value of using our multi-club model as a way to engage their audience in different key markets around the world. It is a great endorsement of our partnership that we are extending our relationship and will continue to work closely together. Nissan is a world-class brand and has set an incredibly high standard in sports marketing.

It's not every time we meet an amazing, creative and determined photographers. Nigeria is a home of talented photographers that are doing so well and are inspiration to the younger ones, photographers like Kelechi Amadi-Obi, TY Bello, Shola Animashaun and a lot of amazing and creative photographers who are trailing the trade and raising the game in terms of talent and getting the latest gadget though this costs a lot to get by the way. A professional Canon camera in Nigeria costs within 850,000 naira to 1.5million naira, this means the trade is not for the lazy and so every bit of shots taken counts.

Photography they say is a game of lights and creativity. For you to excel in this field, you must study the lights and be ready to make a good image out of it. The youths are doing amazing stuff in this regards, if we have to count them, we will be exhausted, they are doing wonderful works so well that even the international media is beginning to take notice of the uniqueness of our folks here.

AutoReportNG was on Twitter recently and we came across a young man named Adeolu. Adeolu is a Nigerian photographer that his editing, angel and lighting seem so unique than the regular we have seen in the past. We tried to go through some of his works and we are blown away. Adeolu caught our attention when he is soliciting for retweets for his works to be showcased on BET Networks but it seems the network is too busy to even notice all the retweets. We got across to him to seek his permission to use some of his images for this post which he gladly did.

One interesting area Deolu seems to focus on is nature, 80% of his works are base on nature- the waters, oceans, sky and lots more, don't let us bore you, you be the judge!
