livingseed:With your TRV, you can only study in Canada for a program that is six months or less ... For your one 1yr pgc, you definitely need a study permit. |
kkokoma:Now that is what I call e-chocolate! Thanks for the kind gesture. |
kkokoma:So how do we get hold of the chocolate that you bought for us? |
ibegirl007:Just seeing this now. So the storm is over. Congratulations!!! |
spyder880:Don't worry! The management of Tigerkenn Group of Companies will buy a helicopter for you in 2016 for your survey activities. If you believe it, shout a loud AMEN! |
spyder880:Another knock please to clear this surprise from the eyes of the surprised Spyderman. So you have been doing "sleeping mulu Anya" at our estate, abi? |
spyder880:Please someone should reach out his or her hand and help me to knock spyder880 on the head! Please!!! |

justwise:And honestly ...I do not have the answer to that question too. Any update on the status of my data request? |
justwise:Yes I do need data. I need evidence that Nigerians persistently and consistently lie and submit fake documents to embassy officials. This is a bold statement (more like a stamp) that has to be backed up with data. If you can't back up a statement, why make the statement in the first place? Data is one of the things that separate facts from assumptions. And honestly ... I do not have the answer to your question. ![]() |
justwise:Unfortunately ... none of us have data to show that foreign embassies are fed up with Nigerians and don't trust them because they persistently and relentlessly submit fake/forged documents. |
I do not believe that the Canadian Deputy High Commission is taking advantage of us. Neither do I believe the perceived submission of false documents leading to public mistrust (mistrustocide ) is the cause of visa denials. For the visa officers, they have laid down procedures and checklists which they abide by and do not bring in emotions when processing our applications. The fact that all applications are prejudiced before review (i.e. all applicants are immigrants) places the burden of proof on the applicant i.e. working from the answer to the question . CIC is not known for being service/people oriented, but policy oriented. If I have to compare them with the US, I can say that the US Department of State is focused on improving the user experience of their customers while maintaining the integrity of their immigration policies. That is important to them. But CIC is focused on the strict implementation of the immigration policies while being resistant to the introduction of current process improvement ideas. (Late to use VFS, late to start biometrics, late to start online applications). For we the applicants, it is a possibility of mistakes, omissions or just not being diligent with your application that leads to denials. If we only knew why we are denied in the first place, it will surely make the learning curve shorter for applicants. I have to give props to the UK for that. Their refusal letters are detailed. Canada and US use their generic forms that leave applicants puzzled after each denial. However, Canada gives you (actually gives people living in Canada) the right to request for such information via GCMS. So for me, the perception that visas are denied because the general populace submits fake documents is not a rational one. I am aware that false representation (submission of false documents) leads to visa application bans. I guess the focus of the application process is on the credibility of the applicant's intent rather than on the applicant's documents. Cheers! |

I just got a call from my dad. Unfortunately, the outcome was not favorable. So ... back to the drawing board. |
friendly101:I don't really know. You will get an acknowledgement of your inquiry almost immediately. But I am not sure of when they will actually respond. Good luck! |
friendly101:Have you tried using the Case Specific Enquiry Form? Also you could try contacting their Call Centre via mail at Question@cic.gc.ca. Cheers! |
eyeshaveseen:Thanks so much for the update. |
friendly101:Hello friendly101! Have you heard from VFS/CDHC yet? Yesterday, my dad got an email notification from VFS with the following message: Dear Applicant, We would like to inform you that your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office, on 14 Dec 2015 to the Canada Visa Application Centre. You can track the status of your application through our website mentioned below using your tracking number. Tracking Number:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada On tracking it on the VFS website, it states Visa application, tracking ID No.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX – Passport has been couriered from the Canada Visa Application Centre on 14/12/2015 vide courier partner. To track the status of the shipment, please visit courier partner website. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC Website. Funny... they did not give me the tracking number. Does anyone know which courier VFS uses? We applied on 26th October 2015 via the paper application route and the passport was returned to VFS on 14 December 2015 (after 50 calendar days). I look forward to a favorable outcome. |
friendly101:If you submitted your application via the paper route, you can contact VFS for an update on the status of your application. However, if you submitted your application via the online route, you may have to contact the Canadian Deputy High Commission with a Case Specific Enquiry form (https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=lagos&_ga=1.109887621.102859316.1416763527). Cheers! |
snowhity85:My advice to you will be to renew your passport before you apply. On a good day, the Canadian Deputy High Commission issues visas till the validity of the passport. Earlier in the year, I applied for visas for my mum and dad and they were both issued visas. Because of validity of their passports, my dad's visa expires this 2015, but my mum's visa expires in 2018. So I had to apply again for my dad this year. Applying for a Canadian visa is not something you would love to do twice in a year 110 days processing time.I am sure that if you like Canada, you may love to visit again. Besides the current validity your passport is less 9 months. So, when you apply in January, the validity of your passport will be 8 months. On the receipt of your visa, after 55 days, the validity of your passport will be 6 months. Because of the short time left, you may be forced to renew your passport before you travel. So why not renew your passport now? Cheers! |
spyder880:And I guess they will also ask for nri-ani for the 20 plots? Or is it nri-uzo? |
Sleek5:Hi! Congratulations on the safe delivery of your baby. Could you please confirm if you are a permanent resident or a temporary resident (i.e. work, study or tourism)? If you are a permanent resident, you could file for family immigration for her or apply for a supervisa. If you are a student or a temporary worker, you could invite her over as a visitor. I'm not sure if visitors can invite other visitors though! Also I am not sure which is better and faster between the paper and the online application routes. But I know that the online application route is easier for a candidate with a scanner and an internet connection. However, for both routes, you still need to visit a VAC to submit your application. For the paper route, you only need to visit the VAC once (minimum) to submit your application and your passport, but the CDHC get to hold onto your passport for as long as they like. You can pay for the VAC to return your application back to you. For the online route, you have to visit the VAC twice, the first after you submit your application online to do your bio-metrics and the second to submit your passport if your application is successful. But your passport is only required if your application is successful, thereby shortening your passport's stay in the vault of the CDHC. For the documents you need to submit, I advise you to visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/apply-how.asp and confirm the documents that are needed. All applications and applicants have different circumstances and travel reasons, therefore the burden of proof for each applicant varies greatly. Cheers! |
ifyalways:10 bags of cement? ... |
spyder880:Please do not change your name from Spyder880 to TigerkennHomes!!!!!!!!!!! Also why are you insisting that the cost of the land is only NGN700,000.00? Are your forgetting the fencing money and nri-ani? Do they not add to the cost of the land? Managing people's expectation properly is a great asset in projects such as this. |
spyder880:Spyder880, I do not want to sound mean or anything like that, but is the owner of Plot 1 completing payment alongside with the fencing money? If there is any serious member amongst us, who is interested in aquiring more plots, he or she should be free to do so. You do not have to wait for appreciation because I do not see how selling the plots when it has appreciated benefits any of us (you maybe). Also, for avoidance of doubt, any plot of land available for sale is now NGN830,000.00, or is it NGN855,000.00?Also, it is time for you to get more professional with information sharing. The issue of fencing money and nri-ani (or is it ala) was discussed on nairaland. We can discuss issues here, but final notification should be via email and text. I like the work you are doing, but be reminded that I did not pay any money to spyder880, rather I paid to Tigerkenn Homes. So I expect to be notified for fencing money and nri-ani by Tigerkenn Homes and not spyder880. Besides, I am certain that there isn't any survey document registered under the name ifyalways. ![]() |
Has anyone ever heard of the Cops Construction Company Limited? http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/enugu-awards-more-road-contracts/226238/ Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi with the State Executive Council on Friday awarded contract for the construction of an additional road, located at Emene - a satellite town in Enugu. The road which is known as Orie-Emene-Adoration road will be done by Cops Construction Company Limited. A statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Louis Amoke, quoted the State Commissioner for information, Dr. Godwin Udeuhele disclosed that the new road when completed, would decongest and enhance easy transportation in the area. It will be recalled that Governor Ugwuanyi recently inaugurated the construction of eight urban and rural roads across the three senatorial districts of Enugu State, marking the commencement of aggressive road development in the state. The statement stated that the Information Commissioner said that the council considered the road which leads to the popular Adoration Ministry praying ground due to its importance to Christian faithful and the inherent economic benefits to the state. It further disclosed that the Council in a bid to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state also appointed a private company, Bricks Data Limited to generate revenue on landed property through geographic information system approach. According to the statement, Udeuhele noted that the process will streamline the activities of revenue collection on landed property in the state and avoid the ugly incident of multiple payments of such fees, among others. He further disclosed that an inter-ministerial committee was equally set-up to review the terms of agreement with the company. |

Lotalways:Congratulations! I presume that the expiration of the visas matched the expiration of the passports. Is that correct? |
romefe:It is rare for an airline to keep a reservation beyond 2 or 3 days without payment. You could try booking with another bank's debit card and see if that works. |
romefe:If the flight is not part of the booking from Nigeria, it may be considered as an internal flight and you may be charged for your bags depending on the class of ticket you have. Your best bet is to verify your allowance on the AC website with your PNR or booking reference. |
