Emaprince: Did you say Barkley?
I can't believe that some Chelsea fans actually trust Barkley ?
As in...wetin that one sabi? A midfield with no brain. Only thing he does is run or probably shoot.
Can Barkley play defense splitting passes? Mtcheew I think you didn’t watch his last few games before the pandemic. Which other new options of midf attack do we have? We not playing city that would need tight middlemen Jorginho Kante Kovacic, even against Pool Barkley was influential. His pass to Pedro in one of our last games is not splitting enough? So it’s Kovacic & Kante that can make defense splitting passes? |

Ibime, that chloroquine paper you referenced few days ago has been retracted after lots of discrepancies found therein. It was highly scrutinized by group of over 200 medical researchers, statisticians, clinicians and ethicist worldwide who dispute the findings, citing no ethics review, inadequate adjustment for confounders (dose used, disease severity, etc), adverse statistics, hiding countries and hospitals where the study was conducted and other reasons.
WHO that initially pause the trial due to this study are continuing today. A good news for the Team Chloroquine?

Ibime: Oga talk better tin abeg. I read somewhere that that Remdesevir is apparently $1k per dose. If true, that is not a workable solution for 99% of the Worlds population. True, but It can give us something to work with in the mean time before vaccines. How Remdesivir will work on targeting the ACE-2 receptor for covid-19 is still what we trying to figure out. Then synergy study between it & other cheap antiv drugs will prove vital economic wise. |

Ibime: This is the most comprehensive retrospective study on Chloroquine so far.
https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)31180-6/fulltext
It be like say I go reconsider membership of team Chloroquine, although one counterargument is that all these patients where hospitalised, mostly in the West which indicates advanced viral replication as they only hospitalise you in the West when water done pass Garri. Chloroquine advocates always argue it is too late at this stage. However the study also included a key control which is that patients had to have had Chloroquine within 2 days of Covid diagnosis. So far no study has set such criteria which favours the "taking Chloroquine early" argument, however there is still wiggle room for Chloroquine advocates to argue that Hospitalisation itself is an indicator of advanced disease in the West, as they will not admit you till things done dey red.
Of 96,000 patients analysed in hospitals, 15,000 patients were given Chloroquine sometimes in combination with a macrolide like azimothrycin. Patients treated more than 2 days after diagnosis were excluded as were patients on ventilators.
The death rates of the treated groups were: hydroxychloroquine 18%; chloroquine 16.4%; control group 9%. Those treated with hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine in combination with antibiotics had an even higher death rate.
Age/Race/Sex/Co-morbidities were fairly evernly spread between the Chloroquine groups and Control Groups.
The only argument left for team Chloroquine is to focus on the Hospitalisation argument that the virus has already proliferated by hospitalisation stage, also you have time lag between Hospitalisation and diagnosis turnaround time plus up to 2 days allowed by the study meaning these patients could be anything from 10-30 days into infection by the time Chloroquine was prescribed. There may also be Doctor bias in the Chloroquine group with the more sicker patients being prescribed Chloroquine in comparison to the control group.
Afrodoc2, TheCassanova, Victornezzar, do you think this argument may still be valid for Team Chloroquine? Also how about other Zinc Ionophores such as Quercetin etc? Any benefit in that? More research needed, a colleague of mine is working on that day and night, but I promise you Chloroquine will not be the savior. Even the allergy reactions says something. Me I’ve been focusing on them ginger, honey, lemon, vitamin c (500mg), tangerine per day since covid19. Me & few colleagues wrote a manuscript detailing the mechanism of action of some FDA approved repurposed drugs, most especially Remdesivir for the virus therapeutic management. I’d rather look inward to Remdesivir (& ritonavir) as it’s in phase 2 clinical trial, same with tocilizumab, both works to inhibit RNA Dep & interleukin-6 respectively. A critical stage that prevent the viral synthesis & decreases inflammation. Will share the link once published in few days. |

gensteejay: As a former Muslim, I understand your view quite well. I even have the literature you made that quote from here.
By the time you learn the history of older religions that predate Christianity and Islam, you will realize your religion isn't the origin of virtually every concept in it.
Almost every aspect of your religion has its roots in old paganistic beliefs.
Both Qur'an and the Bible were plagiarized from older religious texts. So both religions have many paganistic practices.
Christians are celebrating Easter now. But most of them don't know it's a festival with roots in paganism.
Who was Easter (Ishtar)? There are many resources online about the ancient goddess.
Science didn't just start today, even from the books on histories of religions I read, older (extinct) civilizations were more technologically advanced than us.
When Allah tells you in the Qur'an that he created man, he didn't use magic. He used science (biogenetics).
Yahweh also makes the same (creation) claim in the Bible. If you study texts of old Egyptian religions, you will see how their gods and goddesses designed a vessel (body) and put a soul in it.
In ancient Egypt, it was a common practice among the gods and goddesses there to capture a soul in a container.
All these technologies the gods and goddesses used are lost/hidden and are very advanced, much more than today's science.
Comparing ancient sciences with modern ones is like comparing a 10,000-year old institution to another one that's less than a thousand years old.
Science and technology isn't new, as most tend to believe.
In conclusion, it's important to read wide and learn history.
When you do that, you'll realize most of the things in your religion didn't originate from it, but from much older religions, who are now dead.
Just as people die, religions, languages also do. And today's religions will face the same fate (death) of the older religions. First, where is your proof of plagiarism? How do you tell if it was plagiarized or revealed truly? Since this was different from past science. Second bolded, we not comparing ancient science to modern one. I’m comparing scientific scriptures in ancient days (where the scriptures was Believed to be false as at then) to modern science. And now modern science show same relationship. For example Of the two bolded, a 7th century scripture says “the earth is egg-shape” , do you consider it to have been plagiarized or an ancient science theory? When we know quite alright that the earth was considered flat by 7th century scientist of old & only during 1500’s it was considered cycle before affirmative geo-spherical. What do you mean today’s religion will face death when a particular religion have been since 7th century with no death in view. tell me when it will face death then. |

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind"- Albert Einstein 1954
In the 80's Prof Keith Moore, a renowned professor of embryology in Canada authored 3rd edition of a book "The Developing Human" (one of the best medical book written by a single author) using some facts he came across in the Qur'an. Complete embryological stage of human development was stepwise narrated and Dr Keith Moore attests to this. No human without a divine origin over 1400 years ago will have predicted correctly the form of embryo & three veils of foetus darkness without a microscope. Even the Prof had no knowledge at then that the embryo in the initial stage appears like a leech, not until he observed with a powerful microscope. Prof Moore upon reading & verifying the scriptures he said, "If I was asked these questions thirty years ago, I wouldn't have been able to answer half of them for lack of scientific information, hence the verse must truly have come from a divine origin". Dr Joe Leigh Simpson chairman of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Baylor college Houston USA even attest to these scriptures and expressed that religion may guide science by past revelation to scientific approaches.
Another Prof, Tagatat Tejasen acclaimed a scientific fact. Sense of feeling and pain was thought to depend only on the brain, not until studies prove that there are pain receptors underneath the skin. IF the pain receptors are burned & destroyed you can't feel pain any more. That's why doctors use a pinprick to verify the degree of burns. However, the Qur'an already mentioned this 1400 years ago. The Professor of anatomy after spending a great amount of time on research on pain receptor couldn't believe this when shown the verse, he verified it & converted. There are many more of the modern scientific facts in past scriptures like that acknowledged by 18th 19th-century scientists.
You can't tell me many science theories collaborated in holy scriptures written around 7th-century that relates to 21st-century modern astronomy (earth egg-shaped, the orbit of sun & moon), embryology, physics (splitting of an atom), oceanology (physical barrier when two oceans meet), biology (all creation made out of water etc), botany (everything made in pairs, plants & animals), zoology (ants lifestyle) and so on are not from a divine origin.
Every Aboki with hin kettle abeg, believe what you believe with verifiable evidence. |

That’s over 40 days after arrival which is already more than the WHO 14 days incubation & at that time corona hasn’t been an outbreak in Europe. The earliest you can be in quarantine from covid-19 infection is if you came into the country mid/late February. Either its just malaria/typhoid etc or the virus has been silently spreading locally in Nigeria like timbros speculated. I'm patiently waiting for his test result. Mount & Barkley in midfield tells you that we can generate lots of goal contributing via the midfield, couple with fast wingers that’s orgasm. Asides that we may be vulnerable against big teams. |
