Cmanforall:
Nigeria should start using homegrown players.

Nwabali, is homegrown, although he played for South African team.

Ndidi and Osimhen can be considered homegrown

Those players who played in Nigeria and featured in the National team before moving to Europe are homegrown!

Then people like that Maduka of a Goalkeeper (who shouldn’t be invited again), Troost, Iwobi, and their likes are not homegrown
I have been saying for ages that Nigeria is a powerhouse with no local football to show for it . A country that relies entirely on foreign aid when it comes to football

check the link U posted na, 2016, how much was suv in 2016....

And for Ur information no African country that is paying any players millions of dollars, mention one African player that is earning up to a million dollars..

And yes clubs pays more than countries.

And I repeat, no African country that can give 1 million dollars to all the players each
First, 2016 is not 50 years ago—SUVs were not cheap to the point you’re suggesting.

Second, you said no African player has earned up to a million—let’s correct that. About 16 years ago, Mabi Mputu turned down an offer linked to Arsène Wenger at Arsenal F.C. to stay at TP Mazembe.

Then he moved to Atlético Sport Aviação (ASA) (Kabuscop) in Angola and reportedly earned more than $1 million in 1 year.

So clearly, money exists in African football systems too.

Now imagine what a country with far greater resources could potentially mobilize—it’s not as impossible as you’re making it sound.

U can't compare na, the car was not even up to 35k dollars, my brother no African country can give each player a million dollars.... Even European countries cannot do that... Na only Arab nations fit do am.
Are you saying those brand-new SUVs cost less than $35K? In which country exactly?

Also, we have African players earning millions in Angola and across Europe—so are you saying clubs have more financial capacity than entire countries? That doesn’t really add up.

Then you're not getting the discussion... The country is rich with Many mineral resources, in fact one of the richest in the whole world... But non state actors are the one mining and controlling those things... 80 percent of the population lives in abject poverty..
If 80% of the population lives in abject poverty, that also means a small percentage controls a large share of the country’s wealth. So while I’m not saying the report about Congolese players being promised $1 million each is confirmed, it’s not impossible either—given the level of resources and wealth that exist in DR Congo.

Azazyel:
Wait o. Tell me the plenty of experience Jamaica has at the world cup cos I don't understand what you're talking about. Congo struggled as far I'm concerned. They could only score after extra time. Congo only qualified ahead of Nigeria cos the SE players started playing nonsense in the second half. They were protesting against the coach in a match that was very sensitive. They do this field politics a lot. Go back and watch the game against Congo. The Nigerian players switched off totally on purpose in the second half. Jamaica is one of the weakest teams in the qualifiers and Congo is quite lucky to face them. One thing I can tell you is Congo would crash out of the group stage with some walloping. With what I've seen so far, I'm not convinced that they'll get up to 3pts in that group. This naija team is the most talented I've seen in a long while but their onfield politics is too much and that's what affected them. Lastly, Jamaica would not have beaten us. Congo struggled to win that game. You can check a dictionary for the meaning of struggle. There would be no extra time in the world cup group stage so Congo better start scoring in 90mins
So Nigeria loses = internal politics. Congo wins = luck. Jamaica = weak. Everyone else is the problem except the result… got it. Bookmakers love this kind of analysis.

And maybe that’s why none of you ‘highly knowledgeable football analysts’ have been able to beat Nigerian bookmakers.

Also, Congo had two valid goals disallowed vs Nigeria—extra time shouldn’t have even happened.

It's called a WORLD cup so by inclusion every country should be represented even if we know they'll never win otherwise it wouldn't be a world cup then. Yes we all know it's not a certainty but when there's a higher chance that only a few select will win then it's predictable to a certain extent. I might not be a soothsayer but I can come up with 12 countries and I'll tell you that it's one of these 12 that will win the world cup
Sounds like you should be making millions off bookmakers by now.
SportsRe: DR Congo Beat Jamaica To Become The 47th Team Qualified For The 2026 World Cup by TheCongo2: 3:13pm On Apr 02
Semaj77:
If football isn't predictable why hasn't an African team won the world cup , why has only a few selected teams won , no matter how much you deny it there's a level of predictability to football , history tells us this.
I'm not even saying no African team will win a match but most , if not all , are coming home after the group stages , the rest will fall in the round of 32. If you doubt it place your bet
Football has patterns, not guarantees. If history alone decided outcomes, there would be no upsets, no surprises, and no need for bookmakers. The fact that only a few teams have won shows trends, not certainty—because trends get broken.

And by your logic, if we already know who is most likely to win the World Cup, then what’s the point of inviting so many nations? Why not just invite the few teams you think will win and let them play it among themselves?
SportsRe: DR Congo Beat Jamaica To Become The 47th Team Qualified For The 2026 World Cup by TheCongo2: 2:58pm On Apr 02
Semaj77:
I'm not predicting based on vibes , unless you're new to football or you're the one talking based on vibes you'll know I'm predicting on history and form. Maybe only Morocco may come out of the group stage , the rest are bound to crash out in the group stage or at the very best the round of 32. If you do not agree we can place our own bet here and see who's capping rubbish
No need for a personal bet—bookmakers already make money off people who think outcomes are this certain. If you were really using history and form, you’d know football isn’t that predictable—otherwise bookmakers wouldn’t exist.
