rvp20182: How have your exceeded their projection when WB is predicting 2.0 and you're at 2.1% before the last Q data is out. WB predicted 1.7% for 2019 and 2.0% for 2020-21, its in ur post, dammit! |

rvp20182: Nigeria federal budget is stuck at 24-29B dollars the last few years while Kenya has inched to 30-31B dollars.
For 2020 - Buhari is thinking of jumping to 34B dollars. but that FG's $29b budget is still bigger than kenya's $30-$31b budget in their respective countries, right? |

rvp20182: Let me help you with Basic English comprehension. That WB paragraph says Nigeria in 2019 year would have grown by 2.0% ( so far you're doing 2.1% - awaiting the Q4 data for final figure). Unless you perform miracles in last Q - World Bank look to be very close.
They expect you'll grow at 2.1% for 2020 and 2021. u're not getting my point either.... i know its a prediction by WB, all i'm saying is we've exceeded their prediction. Simple. |

Let us just say this is BEYOND YOUR PAYGRADE. haha, u're asking me to take my bile to d WB, lol where's d bile? Did u see me add YoY or not? U're crazy. |

rvp20182: I doubt the final figures for 2019 are already out. Maybe Q1, Q2 and Q3 data are out. Nigeria growing at 2.3% is nothing to celebrate when pop growth rate is 2.6% annually. You're becoming poorer. Not growing at all. calm down and read ur previous post again, no time for shenanigans. I presume ur article was posted prior to 2019 cos it said Nigeria's gdp is forecasted to grow at 1.7% in 2019 and 2.0% in 2020-21, but our gdp grew at 2.3% in Q4 2019 YoY. U can fck off with ur remaining ramblings. |

rvp20182: World Bank 2020 Africa prospect
Nigeria to continue to underperform with negative gdp growth per capita and gdp growth rate of 2% for next few years.
1) In Nigeria, the country with the largest number of poor people in the region, per capita GDP growth has remained negative. Accelerated demographic transition will have an important role to play in the region’s economic development. However, there is significant heterogeneity in growth prospects across countries in the region. • For resource-intensive countries, growth is projected at 1.7 percent in 2019 and 2.0 percent in 2020–21, well below population growth, largely reflecting the continued slow recovery in the large economies. In Nigeria, growth is projected at 2.0 percent in 2019 (0.1 percentage point lower than the April forecast) and 2.1 percent in 2020 and 2021 (0.1 and 0.3 percentage point lower than the April forecasts, respectively). The economic recovery in Nigeria is expected to continue at a slow pace in the absence of structural reforms. The medium-term growth outlook continues to be constrained by a weak macroeconomic policy environment and slow policy implementation. Multiple exchange rates, foreign exchange restrictions, high inflation, and low non-oil revenues persist along with severe infrastructural constraints and heightened insecurity in parts of the country. so why did Nigeria grew at 2.3% last year? |
