It appears the poverty stricken situation in Nigeria is playing a role there.Many of the voters may be poor and would wanna associate with a house mate whose story they can relate too.I don't think the situation would have happened if Nigeria were a well off country and prosperous. They won't attach too much emotions into voting.Maybe.But then Nigerians are known to show pity a lot.For instance,look at those beggars on the street. Some of them have allegedly built houses and done fabulous things through begging until they were caught.Like they pity the beggars on the street and give them money,they will continue the housemate who appear poor on their screens whether he actually entertains them or not,or whether he deserves to win the money or not

I've heard posters talk about bandwagon a lot of times. But I'm still at a loss at what bandwagon means within the context of this show.

The fact that someone is a favorite - liked by a majority does connote that such followership is bandwagonism. Or are you saying that an overwhelming majority cannot take a liking to someone?

For example, if I like you because you're beautiful, is it not possible that there are other multitude of people that will also like you for the same reason or for other reasons other than the beauty?

Somehow, the fans of the favorite are always accused of herd mentality on this show - Mercy, Laycon and now WM. Do you not think that if your light shines bright enough, there is the likelihood that a huge number of people will see it?

If I support, say Tega will i also be accused of bangwagonism?

My point is that people like various things for different reasons and you cant ask them to stop simply because a majority already like that same thing lest they be accused of herd mentality.

Band wagonism occur a lot in the Nigerian bbn viewing community When a certain housemate is being hyped for some reason, then others just assume the guy or lady must be the right Choice and start following en masse.Yes there are some who make their choices independently, but for the vast majority of youths, they just follow the housemate who for some reason trended early into the show and pick as their favorite. The fact is that a lot of Nigerians aren't mature enough for reality show viewing. Also they attach too much see emotions to the show.Vengeful votes , going to lambast housemates on their pages for perceived offences against their favorites etc.It has also become very ,very toxic

At this stage of the season, there should only be like half of the original housemates remaining. Having brought in additional housemates they should have evicted more housemates prior to this time.But they even gave them one free week. That' was nonsensical. There was a time they even evicted two , when they should have evicted more and Tega ended up being safe.There are now trying to balance things up by clearing out a lot of them today at once.Anyway, good riddance to the prospective evictees today.Hope a lot of the delawoods leave
