Politics / BREAKING :Sen Boroffice Demands Deputy Governorship Slot From Gov Akeredolu by TheHope: 1:03pm On Jul 18, 2020
... gives other conditions to support Akeredolu

Report says Senator Ajayi Borofice, the Nigerian senate deputy majority leader has tabled a six points of demands to be met before he could support the reelection of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for second term.

It was gathered that Boroffice among other demands sought to present Akeredolu’s running mate in the forthcoming Governorship poll.

Although the conditions are yet to be officially unveiled, a source revealed that the Senator tabled the demands to the APC National Reconcilaition Committee for Ondo State led by the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sanni Bello.

Governor Sanni Bello-led committee was in Akure on Friday where it met stakeholders, especially aspirants including Governor Akeredolu as part of efforts to stem further crisis in the APC.

However, the push for the position of deputy governor, ostensibly for a crony, has polarised the Unity Forum as the senator, without consultation, is rooting for one of the aspirants, Jimi Odimayo.

Aside deputy governorship slot, Boroffice seeks the following.

…an unreserved apology from the governor

….establishment of a Governor Advisory Council to advise the Governor on critical issues

…concession of key Ministries to the Unity Forum.

…all members of the Unity Forum holding elective positions in the State and National Assembly must be given automatic return tickets for re – election

…dissolution of state, local and ward executive committes of the APC in Ondo State.

Curiously, Odimayo who is on the cards in the camp of the Senator for the position of deputy governor had short after the announcement of the Primary election Committee, described Governor Yahaya Bello as a vote robber.

Odimayo, who spoke through a short post on the facebook page of his Director of Media and Communication, Mr. Yemi Akintomide, specifically said Bello is the most notorious and deadly votes robber.

The demands by the senator means that aside Odimayo, other aspirants of the APC have commenced covert moves to become running mate to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu after the party primary.

By this development such governorship aspirants appear to have given up on their chances and the prospects of their ambition.

Politics / Disqualify Ondo D-gov For Manipulating Delegates’ List, pdp Leaders Tell Secondus by TheHope: 8:51am On Jul 13, 2020
Some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State have called for the disqualification of Hon. Agboola Ajayi, the deputy governor of Ondo State and for the immediate arrest of Mr Kingsley Chinda, the Secretary of the PDP Ward congresses Electoral Committee for Ondo State, over alleged injection 101 fake delegates into the Adhoc delegates’ list of the PDP ahead of the party primary on July 22, 2020.

The PDP leaders who gathered in Akure from across the three Senatorial Districts of Ondo State made the call while addressing newsmen on Sunday.

Starnews NG reports that the PDP leaders were led by their spokesman, Hon Bitire Solomon, a former council boss and a chieftain of the party from Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State.

“Agboola Ajayi must be disqualified for fraudulently injecting 101 fake delegates into the Adhoc delegates list of Ondo State PDP in collusion with Kingsley Chinda, the Secretary of the PDP Ward congresses Electoral Committee.”

“It could be recalled that three days ago while the Electoral panel was collating the results of the ad-hoc delegates Congresses, there were heavy protests by Party members who were chanting war songs and raining curses on Ajayi and Chinda at the front of Heritage Hotel in Akure after information filtered in that both of them were tampering with the delegates list.”

“Suddenly after the protests, members of the panel disappeared into tin air and thereafter converged in a hotel in Lagos to hatch the evil plot”

“As we speak, over 101 names have been injected into the Adhoc delegates list ahead of the PDP primary by Ajayi and Mr Chinda, the Secretary of the panel.”

“We are here to call on the leadership of the party to immediately arrest Chinda and disqualify the deputy governor for fraudulently manipulating the delegates list”

Meanwhile, Okunomo Campaign Organisation has vowed to stop at nothing in commencing full legal action if the doctored list is not reversed by the leadership of the party.

Speaking through its spokesman, Mr Akinrinlola Olumide in a telephone interview on Sunday, Okunomo said they would take the party to court if justice is not done by the leadership of the party to revert to the original delegates list.

Politics / BREAKING: Presidency Favours Akeredolu, Tinubu’s Camp In Shock Over Abraham by TheHope: 8:27am On Jul 12, 2020
Ruling party nets N258.75m from forms Ahead of the July 20 Ondo governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Rotimi Akeredolu seems to be the favoured candidate of the presidency.

This is just as members of the camp of the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu are expressing shock over the purported disqualification of their preferred candidate, Segun Abraham. Ondo govt should assist us tackle ocean incursion All eyes on new EFCC helmsman, Mohammed Umar The Tijani Tumsa–led Screening Committee had on Friday announced the disqualification of one the contenders. No name was mentioned but sources in the party said it was Abraham. Feelers in the presidency said Akeredolu still enjoys President Muhammadu Buhari’s support. The support of the presidency in 2016 gave Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) an edge over the preferred candidate of Tinubu, Abraham in the September primary of the party. Akeredolu polled 669 votes to defeat Abraham who garnered 635.

Since then the relationship between Akeredolu and the APC leader and former Lagos State Governor has been far from smooth. In fact, the Ondo primary was one of the factors which fuelled the APC crisis during the tenure of pioneer Chairman of the party, Chief Odigie Oyegun. Tinubu also faulted the process which led to the emergence of the governor who is now very keen about the second term. Daily Trust on Sunday learnt that Governor Akeredolu still enjoys the support of the presidency to continue in office for another term of four years.

Sources said the presence of President Buhari in Ondo State to officially commission Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub and Flyover Interchange was a tacit endorsement of Akeredolu. Aside from the presidency’s support, Akeredolu enjoys the support of his colleagues, members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), chaired by the Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu. The party’s caretaker committee is being chaired by one of his colleagues, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State. For Akeredolu, the hope of securing the support of the Bourdillon seems to be shrinking as the election draws nearer in the state. The APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is said to be indisposed to back the second term ambition of Akeredolu despite several entreaties by stakeholders backing the governor’s second term ambition.

It would be recalled that Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, who is the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum had led Akeredolu on a reconciliation mission to Asiwaju in May as the politicking takes shape ahead of the APC primaries. But the mission was said to have gone awry as they were unable to secure the commitment of the APC National Leader to support his reelection. According to sources, instead of declaring support for Akeredolu’s second term, Asiwaju impressed it on them that he has no candidate for the election. And true to his words, Asiwaju is said to have stood aloof watching the events as they unfold. “If at all the APC leader has a candidate, he must be keeping it under his chest,” said one of the sources who is familiar with the politicking ahead of the Ondo election.

The source added that Tinubu also told his visitors that the members of the party should be allowed to decide who flies the party’s flag, thus giving a subtle approval to the conduct of direct primary to choose a candidate for the party. Top members of the Tinubu’s camp said Abraham was being considered until Friday’s purported disqualification.

The camp was still studying the latest development, one of them said. However, Akeredolu’s preference for indirect primary scaled through as the party has adopted it. But a faction of the APC in the state insists on the conduct of direct primary which was the method used in conducting Edo APC primaries during which Osagie Ize-Iyamu emerged as the APC candidate. Observers believe the incumbent is now wary of the direct primary method which makes it easy to deny a first-term governor the right to second term when such governor is not in harmony with the party machinery.

It was learnt that the APC governors are concerned about the recent fate of Edo governor, Godwin Obaseki, who had to dump the party and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after being denied the former’s ticket. The factional APC Chairman in the state, Hon. Henry Olatuja, had blamed Governor Fayemi, Governor Nasiru El-Rufai of Kaduna, and Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi as those behind the move by the faction loyal to the governor to conduct the indirect primary. The media aide to Tinubu, Mr. Tunde Rahman, who was contacted is yet to respond to our correspondent’s inquiry as of the time of filing this report.

‘Tinubu will support any candidate who emerges in a fair process’ A chieftain of the party, Mr. Rotimi Fashakin, however cautioned on Saturday against being too straightforward in making insinuations on the outcome of the primaries. He said Tinubu being the National Leader of the party has repeatedly called for a free and fair process in choosing the party’s candidate just as he assured that he would support anyone that emerges. Besides, Fashakin, a former spokesman of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC), also noted that any aggrieved aspirant still has an opportunity for appeal.

“The party has put a lot of machinery in place to ensure a lot of transparency, fairness and justice. If the screening committee has done its disqualification, there is still a lot of opportunity for an aggrieved aspirant to appeal against the action of the committee,” he said. According to him, it was not true that Asiwaju did not support Akeredolu. He stated that what Asiwaju said was that he would support any aspirant that emerged as the party’s candidate.

“He has invested a lot in APC. He is going to play his role as the National Leader of the party to ensure the party remains a progressive party,” Fashakin added. Another chieftain of the party who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity said a lot of people assumed Asiwaju backed Abraham without feeling his impulse. Party nets N258.75m from forms Daily Trust on Sunday reports that 12 aspirants have boosted the revenue of the party with N258.75m from the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms.

Each of the governorship aspirants paid N22.5m, including N2.5m for expression of interest form and N20m for the nomination form. The 12 aspirants, who bought the forms including one female contender, are Governor Akeredolu, Joseph Olusola Iji, Odimayo Okunjimi, Olayide Owolabi Adelami, Isaac Duerimini Kekemeke, Olusola Oke Alex, Ifeoluwa Olusola Oyedele, Awodeyi Akinsehinwa Akinola Colinus, Olubukola Olarogba Okunola Adetula, Dr Abraham Olusegun Michael, Dr Nathaniel Olumuyiwa Adojutelegan, and Olajumoke Olubusola Anifowoshe.

The aspirants were screened by Tijjani Tumusa-led Screening Committee on Wednesday and Thursday. While the party settled for indirect or delegates primary, 11 out of the 12 governorship aspirants on the platform of the party preferred direct primary which allows every card-carrying member to participate in the decision to choose governorship candidate.

A leading governorship aspirant, Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, has said that the ruling party cannot use indirect primary to elect its flagbearer because of polarization and pending court cases over the leadership. Oke warned against a repeat of the Zamfara State experience in his home state if the delegates method was used without compliance with the provision of Article 13 of the party constitution.

Politics / Ondo Ssg, Ifedayo Sunday Abegunde, Reveals Why He Resigned by TheHope: 7:34am On Jul 07, 2020
.... SAYS AKEREDOLU DIDN’T WIN 2016 POLL, BACKS ABRAHAM FOR GOVERNOR

Reveals how Akeredolu gives all Ondo contracts to wife, son, in-laws

Former Secretary to the Ondo state government who resigned his appointment this morning, Hon. Ifedayo Sunday Abegunde, has disclosed that he left the Rotimi Akeredolu-led administration as a result of the cold wars between him and his erstwhile principal.

Abegunde who was speaking on Crest FM In Akure this afternoon said that the ill treatment he did receive from Akeredolu made him to quit the administration.

According to the former SSG, the sufferings he underwent In the hands of Governor Akeredolu for the three and half years he held sway as the Secretary to his government were too much.

In his statements, Abegunde popularly known as Abena said he was unable to cater for the needs of all his followers because the governor didn’t release any money for his office grants.

Reacting on the N5 million which Governor Akeredolu reportedly said he was giving him as office grants monthly, Hon. Abegunde said the governor was only telling lies, adding that he should come forward with an evidence regarding that.

His words: “I was suffering in his administration because he didn’t release any fund for my office grants. He has been telling lies that he was giving me N5m every month even when he knew he didn’t give me such money.

“Where on Earth did the governor give me such funds? Recently, I reported him to Governor Fayemi of Ekiti state and he promised to invite both of us to Abuja for settlement. I remember that I told Fayemi that I was going to spit on the face of Akeredolu if he repeated the lie that he was giving me N5m monthly, and I would then return to Akure to resign and as well Inform the public of his looting sprees”

On the 2016 governorship poll, Abena explained that Akeredolu lost the election to the PDP candidate, Eyitayo Jegede.

According to him, it was through the powers from him (Abena) and other APC pillars that made INEC declare Akeredolu as governor after he had lost it.

His words: “Akeredolu didn’t win the election in 2016 but we made it possible for him to become governor. We were the pillars behind him and we will not support him again. He will lose this time around”

Abegunde further said that he resigned because he could no longer be part of a government that makes its subjects to pass through hardship.

He said: “The government of Akeredolu is making the entire people of the state to suffer and I cannot be part of that any longer. Everyone is suffering. He doesn’t pay salaries at the right time. As a matter of fact, Akeredolu has not performed to the expectations of the masses apart from the roads he is building.

“Akeredolu has turned Former Governor Mimiko to a saint with his own abysmal performance. We now see that Mimiko did well as governor because he gave his people enough funds to enable them cater for the needs of their own supporters. I had worked with three governor’s, and I can say that in the history of Ondo state, Akeredolu is the worst governor”

Abegunde pressed further that the people that enjoy this government are Akeredolu’s wife, son and In-laws from Imo state.

His words: “Akeredolu has reduced the government to the property of his wife, son and in-laws from Imo state. All the contracts in the state are being given to his wife, son and the people from Imo state”

The former SSG however made it known that he has decided to support another aspirant from the APC, Mr. Segun Abraham, whom he described as the ‘Messiah’ that Ondo state needs.

Politics / Agboola Ajayi Came Empty And Left Empty : by TheHope: 8:44am On Jun 28, 2020
AGBOOLA AJAYI CAME EMPTY AND LEFT EMPTY :

WHAT A MANNER OF MAN WITH HISTORY OF CUSTOMIZED DECEIT, BETRAYAL & BACKSTABBING.

Every attempt by inordinate politician to answer or satisfy his/her political equation, he or she is likely to get more entrenched & discovery of more political disaster in the course of time and things.

The system may even become a fertile & potent engines for cunning, over ambitious, and unprincipled men to subvert & usurp a peaceful process for their own peril as it is presently playing out in Ondo state.

The political journey of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Aketi (SAN) began in the year 2011 without Agboola Ajayi as the former contested on the platform of defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN in the 2012 gubernatorial election while Agboola was in PDP.

The duo met in early 2016 at the airport enroute Abuja and Agboola clinched treacherously to Aketi because the latter believed he is such a humble servant. Aketi used him as compass to navigate the difficult terrain of Abuja because of his geographical understanding of the metropolis.

This boss-driver relationship that Ajayi enjoyed from open minded Aketi made Governor Akeredolu used Agboola's name as a dummy to be replaced later when the submission of forms were becoming late.

As cunning as tortoise, the Ese Odo born politician treacherously manipulated himself into the mind of the legal icon to permanently choose him as his running mate against all odds and warnings by the leaders of the party in the October 2016 gubernatorial election.

It is sad to note that less than a year into the administration of Aketi, Agboola Ajati started orchestrating a plan on how to oust his principal but thanks to the most High God who did not allow Agboola's evil political thirsty ground to succeed in draining Aketi's water.

It is equally instructive to note that Ajayi was the architect of government misadventures to Action Alliance, AA where he fielded his crony, Dr. Felder who now followed him to PDP against Lucky Ayedatiwa of APC in Ondo south senatorial election.

Ajayi's defection to Peoples Democratic Party PDP can be best valued when compared to the recently cross carpeting of Governor Obaseki and his deputy Shuaib from APC to PDP in Edo state.

It is on record that Obaseki and & his deputy Shuaib left APC for PDP with the followings:-
(i) Edo state House of Assembly Speaker and all members of Edo state House of Assembly
(ii) All Edo state cabinet members.
(iii) All the Local Government Council Chairmen in Edo state
(iv) All the state, Local Government and ward Executive members of APC.

This can be used clearly as a yardstick to measure value addition. One can now ask, who accompanied Agboola Ajayi to PDP? He began his treacherous move with the National Working Committee NWC of PDP where he sold a dummy to the national leadership of the party that he has the political wand and might to recapture Ondo for PDP. He was quoted to have assured that his formal defection to PDP will be greeted with retinues and armies of his followers and political bigwiggs across the state ranging from 9 House of Assembly members, 2 serving commissioners, 5 special advisers, party Executive members to other party leaders and faithfuls in the state.

Alas ! this turned out to be empty assurance and shadow propaganda by Ajayi that made the PDP National chairman, Prince Uche Secondus led a handful of party leaders to Akure, Ondo state capital to receive Ajayi and his co-political travellers as he promised.

Regrettably, Agboola was received by the national chairman of PDP empty handed. However, Prince Uche who had expected to see the new armies of decampees met with the shock of his life when he noticed that Ajayi was a serial political liar and this manifestation made him to ask the sinking deputy Governor, "where are the nine lawmakers and commissioners you promised would join you to defect, deputy Governor?" After the nicked dance in the open market, Prince Secondus left Akure back for Abuja empty handed and on a disappointed note.

While we wish Agboola journey mercies back to PDP, we which to remind his hosts the issue of integrity crisis that bothers on his credentials are still in doubt & shrouded in secrecy as highlighted by screaming headlines in some national dailies awaiting future litigations. This is in addition to contract-cheating & scam hanging on his political integrity as exposed in diploma mills and the counterfeiting of academic documents.

A relationship without trust is like having a phone with no service. And what do you do with a phone with no service? You play game with it. Agboola is a self acclaimed political commander without troops that will soon meet his ill-fate like a biblical Judas Iscariot.

Politics / Agboola Ajayi Replicating 1983 Akin Omoboriowo Politics In Ondo State by TheHope: 11:38am On Jun 22, 2020
THE SEASON OF BETRAYALS: AGBOOLA AJAYI REPLICATING 1983 AKIN OMOBORIOWO POLITICS IN ONDO STATE

Betrayals come in different shapes and forms. There are family betrayals, business betrayals, political betrayals, love betrayals etc. And they all have two things in common; relationship and trust. Without these two, you really cannot talk of a betrayal. Generally, the greater the relationship, the deeper the trust, the less expected and therefore, the more painful the betrayal. In many cases, people are blindsided because of their closeness to the perpetrators.

Political betrayals are everywhere. They dot the landscape in Nigeria. Political godsons betraying their godfathers. Political godfathers reneging on promises made to their godsons. Dogs not only biting, but savaging dogs. Just when we thought we had seen it all, there was the case of a son who betrayed his father who had installed him in high office when it came to choosing his successor.

The build up to October's election, has various shades of the last Ondo elections of the Second Republic.

Apart from sharing the same land of nativity, Ajasin and Akeredolu are same sons of similarity in governance and politicking. The belief in massive infrastructural development, independence of the State against political influence, raising the bar of trust in leadership and uncompromised welfare of workers and retirees are my convincing and compelling comparisons. On the same trend and tressure, Agboola has decided to play late Omoboriowo to Arakunrin Akeredolu, the story whose end Agboola knows very well as he mentioned 1983 scenario while trying to move out his personal belongings at the Government House in an argument with security men.

At the beginning of their administration, Aketi was very much attached and attentive to Agboola Ajayi. It is the betrayal of trust that soured their relationship. After the APC primary election that made Aketi the flagbearer did not go well with some leaders, while Aketi was trying to reconcile with them (leaders), Agboola was busy projecting himself to be used to fight his boss. Agboola never thought that rapprochement would ever be possible but politics is all about conflict resolution.

Let us give it to Agboola: he is a purveyor of puffery and player of political chicanery. To achieve his selfish aim, Agboola kept advising his boss in wrong direction so that Aketi could be committing infractions as to reduce him (Aketi) to political anonymity. All these played out in many political decisions that the State took and the timely reversals of many.

In politics, the love behind you is the hatred behind you. Agboola never knew that one of those following him to all these clandestine meetings had been taping him and all these could not be denied when Aketi confronted him with overwhelming evidence. Agboola begged and begged. He invited personalities to intercede on his behalf but he never changed.

Late last year, Aketi was sick. So he was away for weeks to attend to his health challenge. As human who is not exempted from the law of nature, Agboola was expected to act dutifully and fill the gap. Rather, he was busy seeking the support of House of Assembly Members and penciling down the names of his cabinet members in order to take over. As Africans, many believed that the illness was not ordinary and if Agboola didn't know about it he wouldn't have got so much audacity to act that way. God is not a man; Aketi survived and the State was thrown into jubilation on his arrival. Agboola went too far and there is no forgiveness in the matter of life and death.

In all these, nobody hears anything from Aketi. To me, Aketi has won great moral victory. Regardless of how we consider treachery, treason and trickery as political play in these climes, Agboola will live with moral burden of betrayal for the rest of his life. He has written uncharitable story for himself. Having been a Deputy for almost three and half years, he shares in the good and ugly of this administration. He lacks morality and morale to speak against this government.

Now that Agboola aspires to be the flagbearer of PDP and Aketi too seeks reelection in APC, I wish Agboola is given the ticket of PDP and Aketi too presented again by APC. The perfect history shall be repeated. Agboola shall have his share in the sword of betrayal. The dream is too tall to be realized by him. Political oblivion and ruthless ruin beacons on him.
Thank you!

Politics / Akeredolu-ajayi’s Tango: Unmasking The Villain by TheHope: 10:04pm On Jun 21, 2020
WHEN falsehood is allowed to fester in society for too long, it wears the garb of truth and may thus end up deceiving unsuspecting members of the public. However, truth is truth and will remain so till eternity, no matter the length of travel of lies.

It’s true that the embattled Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Agboola Ajayi and his principal, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, had enjoyed the best of principal-lieutenant relationship, which was the cynosure of all eyes, until very recently when things began to go south between them. A part of the cause of the seeming parting of ways will be revealed in the course of this article.

It’s also an incontrovertible fact that the duo had collaborated in 2016 to rescue the state from power buccaneers and their backers within and without on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The resultant effect of their efforts was what catapulted the APC to the gubernatorial seat of the state in the October 2016 election. Although there were forces who prevailed on Governor Akeredolu not to nominate Hon Agboola as his Deputy, going by his treacherous and capricious antecedents, the former declined and chose to pick him as second-in-command.

For record purposes, it needs to be emphasized and reemphasized that having taken into consideration the place of unity as a strong enabler of the formidability of a team for the actualization of its set objectives and goals, the Governor conceded so many powers and influence to his Deputy to a level never before seen in the history of Ondo State and that of the entire country, even till now. For those who are familiar with Governor Akeredolu, he likes to carry his subordinates along with whatever he does until a subordinate proves he cannot be trusted like the biblical Judas Iscariot.

The mutually beneficial relationship between the Governor and his Deputy was the talk of the town unlike what it was in the past and, still is, in this clime where deputy governors are mostly treated as mere spare tires by their bosses right from the Second Republic in 1979 till date. Governor Akeredolu decided, in his lawyerly wisdom, to take a radical departure from the norm by carrying his Deputy along in all his gubernatorial assignment in the thinking that they were co-partners steering the wheel of development of the state for the overall benefit of the people.

At a point in their relationship, the Deputy Governor commanded so much political influence courtesy of the latitude of freedom extended to him by Governor Akeredolu that he was misconstrued in some quarters to be the king behind the throne. Virtually all the political appointments in Ondo South were handed over by the Governor to his Deputy to coordinate, first in the annals of history of the state. Several times the Governor was away from the seat of power, several times he handed over the instruments of power to Hon Ajayi in accordance with the spirit and letters of the Constitution in the thinking that the Deputy would extend to him the 100 percent loyalty expected from a well-treated subordinate. How wrong the Governor was.

While the Governor was doing everything he could to tag along his Deputy in the governance of the state, unknown to the Governor, over two years ago, the Deputy had allegedly begun to make surreptitious and subterranean moves to undermine his principal with the sinister intention of rendering him politically useless before the masses of Ondo State so that he could realize his own inordinate ambition of taking over the reins of power either by hook or by crook. He could not just wait for his turn. This act of sabotage was reenacted when the Governor was under the weather and thus could not discharge his governorship duties effectively. But for celestial intervention, Hon Ajayi would have kicked out his boss who was sick at the time from power. How callous! Evidences including video clips of meetings held by the Deputy Governor with the political opponents of the Governor to undermine his principal abound. A time will come when the videos will be relayed to members of the public.

Be that as it may, for members of the public, who are not yet conversant with why the Governor and his Deputy seem to have parted ways, two reasons will suffice, in the interim. In the coming days, more reasons will be revealed so that the reading public can make their own informed judgment of who is the villain between the two.

One is the alleged mismanagement of funds meant for taking care of the welfare of ex-militants in the Amnesty Programme of the State Government and the Federal Government by the Deputy Governor. When the Federal Government defaulted, for whatever reasons, in releasing funds for the former militants, Governor Akeredolu had to step in at a time to provide a financial cushion for the militants who were becoming agitated. The Governor, trusting his Deputy to deliver, being from Ese Odo, the hub of the former militants, entrusted him with the fund, running into millions of naira.

When the Governor confronted him based on the negative feedback he was getting from the ex-militants, Agboola said he had used the money to settle some political scores without recourse to his principal. He thus became worried that the Governor queried him.

Another reason which bears a resemblance to the first one was the way the Deputy Governor handled some urban renewal projects of the Akeredolu-led administration meant to give a facelift to the people of Ese Odo Local Government Area where Hon. Ajayi hails from. Rather than execute the projects to specifications, having been duly financially mobilized, he did a poor job, some he even failed to finish; some he did not touch at all.

For full disclosure purposes, virtually all the capital projects of the Akeredolu-led government in Ese Odo and Ilaje Local Government Areas were awarded to a company.

Again, when the Governor confronted him on the infractions, the Deputy Governor could not provide any tangible explanation to rationalize the shoddy execution of the projects. The Some-Igbotu Road cost the State Government about N600m. The project was handled by the same firm. Ditto for the road linking Agadagbaodon and Amapere running into hundreds of millions of naira, all handled by the firm allegedly belonging to the Deputy Governor. How much more could a Governor concede to his Deputy?

Well, from the foregoing and with what is unfolding before our eyes, it does appear all along that the Deputy Governor, in order to actualize his own inordinate ambition through the backdoor, has been doing everything humanly and inhumanly possible to sabotage the efforts of his principal and the administration he leads. Even at this, the Governor has refused to move against him. And this is in spite of several entreaties to the Governor to wield the enormous powers at his disposal to remove the Deputy Governor. How many Governors in Nigeria can tolerate an inordinately ambitious Deputy? Perhaps only Akeredolu can. The facts of his tolerance of his saboteur Deputy speak for themselves. Interesting episodes ahead in the coming weeks.

Politics / BREAKING: ONDO Deputy Gov AIDES, Caught With Govt Properties by TheHope: 12:38pm On Jun 21, 2020
Let’s suspend this emotion and be logical in thoughts.

The Deputy Gov aides were already caught with Govt properties. Someone even carried the whole of a Govt furniture, claiming he refurbished it. Someone took a Television set claiming the office of the deputy governor bought it as if the deputy governor’s office doesn’t belong to the Govt. They were made to return these items by the security men at the gate.

They call their boss (the Deputy Gov) who later came to the Govt house and they became emboldened with his presence. I think this is shameful and unacceptable.

The governor is not stopping anyone from moving personal effects out of the government house . But, why must it be at night ? Why not do it in broad day light? Who moves things at night?

We all understand the political mood. Let’s not be too emotional in our reasoning. What’s bad, is bad.

All the aspirants in the PDP have protested to the national secretariat of the PDP kicking against automatic ticket for Agboola Ajayi. Their belief is that money alone does not win election. Integrity, sound education and other qualities are also vital components of electoral value.

Against the back drop of this protest, the leadership of the party has advised Ajayi to join the party and participate in the primary like any other aspirants. This development has caused serious setback for the deputy governor and he is in a state of dilemma and confusion now. As event unfolds, we will know his next political moves.

Politics / BREAKING Ondo 2020: APC Group Raises Alarm Over Plans To Doctor Party’s Register by TheHope: 3:57pm On Jun 08, 2020
A group within the All progressives congress (APC) in Ondo state, lbi Giga Ambassadors has petitioned the national chairman of the party ,comrade Adams Oshiomhole over alleged plans by some aspirants in the party to doctor the party register ahead of governorship primary.

Addressing newsmen in Akure on Monday, the deputy director general of ibi giga ambassadors, chief Alaba Eniola- Ajipe who represented the Director General of the group, Prof. Lanre Olu Adeyemi said individuals who are also governorship aspirants had commenced moves to inject their loyalists into the register with the intention of truncating the chances of governor Akeredolu.

Chief Ajipe alleged that the said aspirants had gone to Osun state to collate party membership slips and commenced injecting the fictitious names into the register so as to favor them in case the party adopted direct primary in July.

He pointed out that the 2014 party membership registration remained valid and any attempt to doctor the list could lead to crisis in the party and loss of governorship election in October.

Chief Ajipe however called on the national leadership of APC to ensure that such plans were not allowed to see the light of the day in the interest of the party.

Ajipe said “We write on behalf of the leadership and the entire Members of lbi Giga Ambassadors in Ondo State as a foremost mobilisation group that is propagating the achievements of Mr. Governor in all sectors of the economy since he has come to the saddle in the past three and half years or thereabout and seeking the re-election of His Excellency. Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN for a second term in office to formally inform you of the need to urgently stop the nefarious activities of some desperate Aspirants within our party who have embarked on the process of sabotaging the genuine efforts of the National leadership of our Party to conduct a Primary Election where every of our members would be convinced that the candidate who eventually emerges is a product of free, fair and transparent process which to us would make the Governorship Election come October, 2020 a less cumbersome task.

The said desperate Aspirants and their collaborators in an attempt to have their way if the National leadership of the Party adopts Direct Primary as the mode of electing the Party Candidate in the forthcoming scheduled Primary Election of our Party in Ondo State on 20th July, 2020 have gone to the state of Osun and collated Party Membership Slips which are in thousands and have been injecting these 0ctitious names on these Slips into a concocted Party membership Register which they intend to use in Ondo State towns bordering Osun state as these towns are mostly populated by Osun indigenes living here in Ondo state and doing their legitimate businesses for several years now.

According to our source, the Aspirants have perfected plans to ‘smuggle’ into Ondo State, people from Osun State who would appear as eligible Voters in “their various polling Units’ on the day of the Primary Election if the Primary Election is Direct mode. The other Aspirant has also gone as far as to Lagos state to collate thousands of Party Membership Slips to be used by his supposed supporters thereby designing a new Party Membership Registration Forms which have been distributed secretly across the various Wards in Ondo State. (Attached herewith are copies of the imported Party Membership Slip and the concocted Party Membership Registration Forms being distributed across the various Wards in Ondo State).

We are concerned that this unscrupulous action, if not quickly addressed, portends grave dangers to the fortunes of our great party as we prepare for the Party Primaries in July 2020 and the gubernatorial elections in October 2020.

Sir, we want to put on record that the party membership registration that was done in 2014 formed the existing APC Party Register in Ondo State and it is the only known party membership register that is in existence in Ondo State as at today. The National Party
Secretariat is yet to give a directive for the update of Party Membership Registration in Ondo State.

Thus any illegal injection of names as is currently being done by some desperate elements is inimical to the good image of our party and will no doubt create avoidable and unnecessary crisis in our dear State.

It is pertinent to emphasise here that our alarm is not borne out of cowardice but to guide jealously and safeguard the peace and tranquility that is prevalent in our Party in particular and generally in Ondo State at the moment because Ondo State people are very sophisticated and enlightened and would not condone any attempt by anyone who would for selfish reason overtly or covertly overreach a process thereby putting the innocent indigenes of the state into a sorry state.

On our own part, we want to put on record that we are mobilising for the re-election of the incumbent Governor whether the mode of the primary election is direct or indirect.

However. we are compelled to raise this alarm as we crave for a level playing field as we go into the primary election. We are concerned that if we allow some desperate Aspirants and their cohorts to tinker with the Party Register, it will tell on the integrity of the selection process and may spark unnecessary reactions that will affect the peace that we currently enjoy in Ondo State.

We are mostly concerned that these desperate Elements knowningfully well that they cannot go into a free and fair contest with the incumbent governor whose performances in all facets of the economy is greatly celebrated even by the opposition party in the state. Hence, they have been running from pillar to post in order to circumvent the mode of Primary which is yet to be announced by the National leadership of our Party.

We believe and we know that the party leadership is in firm control of the Party and will stop at nothing to bring about fairness, equity and justice to all members as the ability of the APC

in Ondo State to remain strong to win the forthcoming gubernatorial elections and subsequent elections is without doubt uppermost in their mind.

We hereby register our unalloyed loyalty and we are confident of the ability of the national leadership to do what is just in this circumstance. ”

Politics / Who Killed Pastor Adewale Omojuwa, Former OSOPADEC Chairman? by TheHope: 10:11am On Jun 07, 2020
Pastor Adewale Omojuwa haled from Ilowo in Ugbo ward 3, Ilaje Local Government. The same community with Olusola Oke. He was averagely educated.

Pastor Adewale Omojuwa was a very deep religious person in his early life. He was a professional drummer in the seraphim and cherubim church of God in the riverine. That is what is prevalent in Ilaje today.

He later relocated to Igbokoda and became a dry cleaner at Larada, beside Adeb Hotel.

Being a kinsmen to Oke and also a very clever person with native intelligence, he, Oke, brought him closer to complement him politically. In the days of yore, religion had much influence than what we have today in Ilaje. So, Oke needed Omojuwa more.

In the days of the PDP, Oke made Omojuwa the secretary of the party. He later promoted him to become the local government party chairman. He later became member, OSOPADEC and finally rose to become the chairman of OSOPADEC.

All of a sudden, Pastor Adewale Omojuwa became a serious threat to Olusola Oke when he wanted to go to Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC. The simple reason was that Omojuwa was more generous than Oke. Oke, having realized this fact of life, pretended as if he was in tune with his ambition, as usual. Alas, Oke asked pastor Omojuwa to change his money to dollars that some people needed the money in Abuja in fulfillment of his ambition. Eventually, the money didn’t get to Abuja. That was how Oke collected all the money Omojuwa made in OSOPADEC in order to reduce his political value and influence.

It was during this unrealistic ambition Omojuwa had accident along Ore-Ondo road when he was rushing to go and give his mater some money meant for Abuja. Since that time, Omojuwa never got himself.

When Omojuwa discovered that all the money he sent through his boss didn’t get to Abuja, the man developed blood pressure, high sugar level, diabetes and other associated illness. Here we are today. Who killed Omojuwa?

Adewale vowed that he will never support Oke again in his life. That was why he supported Jimi Odimayo as his DG. Was it not funny to you that Omojuwa did not support Oke? Why did he support Odimayo instead of Oke?

The last straw that broke the camel’s back was the meeting of Unity Forum Olusola Oke attended today after the news of Omojuwa’s death broke out. It means he gives premium to his ambition over and above human life. His attendance gives credence to the fact that Oke is happy over the death of Omojuwa.

Don’t be surprised, Oke is going to give the most beautiful speech and shed crocodile tears at the line in state or burial ceremony.

May his soul Rest In Peace.
