Just found this article interesting. No copyright intended. Excerpt from the article Having the ambition to fix Nigeria as an Igbo is not a problem. The problem is, will other tribes tolerate you when you want to cut their excesses? . I don’t know much of Nigeria’s political history, but I can remember when Prof Dora Akunyili of blessed memory was the director general of NAFDAC, how she fought against adulterated drugs. Igbo traders in the Drug and Allied market at Bridge-Head Onitsha were mostly affected. A lot of goods were seized and burnt. In fact the battle affected more Igbos than other tribes. Nigerians applauded her. She successfully completed her service at NAFDAC, and was later appointed as Nigeria’s Minister of Information during the regime of Late President Umaru Yar’Adua. She carried forward the energy to rebrand Nigeria. And it wasn’t too long, she’d already given Nigeria the slogan we use today; Nigeria, Good People, Great Nation. Then, when you tune to NTA, you hear her talk about MDG goals, Agenda 2020…and all the promising projects which gave hope that Nigeria was driving somewhere. She was very keen to save Nigeria. Her Nigeria rebranding campaign gained global attention. Everything was going smoothly until the then President Umaru Yar’Adua got ill and was flown out of the country. For weeks, Nigerians were kept in the dark as to the health situation of the president. Even as the Minister of Information, Dora could not give the exact account of the situation of the president as she had no access to the President. Tension was everywhere. It was at that hot moment that Prof Dora, tabled a memo advising the Federal Executive Council to accept that Yar’Adua was no longer fit to lead. And requested that power should be handed over to Jonathan who happened to be the Vice President at the time... Source: https://opdato.com/the-ambition-to-save-nigeria-as-an-igbo/

Nigerian pop artist Chidinma popularly known as Mis Kedike has early this morning shared an inspiring words via Instagram. She urged women to stop worrying about being ‘Miss Together’ and pray to God… In her words as shared on her Instagram; Are you so convinced that your life could be different that you are willing to stagger to the altar and pray while others sleep? There are women who need to stop worrying so much about being ‘Miss Together’ that they stifle their emotions when they pray. There are women who need to stop weighing everything they do against their need to uphold their reputation. God is not impressed by the right club, the right crowd or your social media life. He wants women who will humble themselves who will come to Him and cry out to Him with no concern for what people will think or say. The power of life and death is in your tongue, refuse to be silenced and speak life, after you’ve prayed speak God’s words of life to yourself. Don’t allow yourself to be intimidated into remaining quiet about what you want God to do for you. Give voice to those things! Go ahead and Cry! The people living in Awada Onitsha, in the early hours of today took to protest against the high electricity bills usually brought to them by EDDC. They took the protest into the premise of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Onitsha; a state television station in the area. According to one of the Protestants, when he was interviewed by a staff of ABS, he said, “EDDC does not bring electricity to us but they bring exorbitant Electricity bills. We can’t afford to be paying such bills anymore. The electricity bill for a flat in Awada is between N17,000 to N54,000 per month in spite the poor electric power supply. They should provide for us ‘Prepaid Meter’ or no more payment” Another person laments that the electricity bills are more than their house rents which according to him, “House rent for a flat here in Awada is between N15,000 to N25,000/ month”. He therefore calls on the government to come to their rescue. Source: www.kokofacts.com/awada-community-protests-against-high-electricity-bills-by-eddc-see-photos

Every human being born as a different individual naturally. No other person has the same DNA, eye pupils or fingerprints as you. People are born with own states of mind, own intelligence level, own ways of thinking, in a word, with own individuality. If you want to actually turn a dream into reality, you have to be a little different. If you want something in your life to change then you have to change the way you approach it – you have to think a little differently, act a little differently and just BE a little differently. –Anonymous There’s nothing bad with being different when the process is natural and obviously when the differences are positive. It is something admirable because it requires courage, patience, dedication, determination to stick to the path of being different. Everyone doesn’t possess enough confidence and will power to deal with his differences. Consequently, everyone can’t be different, rather ends up his life being an ordinary, average person. Diabetes: Watermelons can be a good supplement for diabetic patients. Diabetic patients, who are supposed to have a low energy and low sugar diet, often complain about starving since they don’t get to eat their staple diets, which gives them the feeling of being half fed. In spite of being sweet in taste, a thick wedge will give you very few calories, since ninety nine percent of its total weight is composed of water and roughage. Moreover, the various vitamins and minerals such as potassium and magnesium help in proper functioning of insulin in the body, thus lowering the blood sugar level. Arginine, another component found in watermelons, is very effective at enhancing the impact of insulin on blood sugar. Diabetic patients can also have curries, steaks, and salads made from water melon rinds, which are even lower in sugar. Impotence: Arginine, present in watermelon, is beneficial in curing erectile dysfunction, and the stimulating nature of the chemical can boost libido, reduce frigidity and give a kick start to your love life, after you enjoy a few slices of watermelon together! ...and more Source: www.kokofacts.com/see-what-watermelon-can-do-to-your-body

Impotence: Arginine, present in watermelon, is beneficial in curing erectile dysfunction, and the stimulating nature of the chemical can boost libido, reduce frigidity and give a kick start to your love life, after you enjoy a few slices of watermelon together! Kidney Disorders: Watermelons contain a lot of potassium, which is very helpful in cleaning or washing out the toxic depositions in the kidney. Moreover, it is helpful in reducing the concentration of uric acid in the blood, thereby reducing the chances of kidney damage and the formation of renal calculi in that organ. Added to this, being high in water content, it induces frequent urinating, which is again helpful for cleaning of the kidneys. Also, the anti oxidants present in watermelon ensure good health of the kidneys for a long time, and reduce signs of premature aging like wrinkles and age spots on the skin. High Blood Pressure: The good amount of potassium and magnesium that is present in watermelons is very beneficial in terms of bringing down blood pressure. Potassium is considered a vasodilator, meaning that it releases the tension of blood vessels and arteries, thereby stimulating increased blood flow and reducing the stress on the cardiovascular system. The carotenoids present in these fruits also prevent hardening of artery walls and veins, thereby helping to reduce blood pressure and the chances of blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, and atherosclerosis.
