It's a terrible thing to be jobless in one's 40s with mouths to feed. I would recommend the FG job. If 95k is what is stated on your appointment letter, then your total pay will be significantly more than that. Before I left Nigeria, I was working in a federal government establishment. My offer letter stated 76k, but my take home after tax was around 108k. This was 10 years ago.

It's not a cruise.... It's a producing pharmaceutical company, also has subsidiaries in retail and restaurant businesses. GM is as good as a director position. That aside, my only fear is job security, I have no doubt of performing and even exceeding the set targets cos I'm a workaholic. I'm only scared of setting things up fine and they ask me to go cos it has happened to me in the past. It's a one man biz. I'm 41 and I may not get opportunity to even rise to be director in FG job cos of retirement age but at least FG has job security. I have been out of job for over 2yrs and it's been crazy surviving

I'm a federal worker in the aviation industry on Level 9. Everything I have achieved since I started working in 2016 is through my side hustle. The salary from government can't even feed my 2 year old daughter for a month talkless of paying my rent and settling other bills. Once I hit 10 years on the job, I plan to Japa because the system is nothing to write home about. You won't believe we have not been paid May 2023 salary because of technical glitches from the CBN.

Bottom line? Grab the 500K job with your full chest!

Exactly the point, I have taken a private job before that I set the company up personally from the scratch because the owner has no experience at all about the biz. After helping to set up the biz and even got him lucrative deal with state govt. He sacked me that he no longer need my service and gave me one month salary in lieu.... That is why I am so careful about this one too, cos once beaten twice shy but at the same time I need good pay to cover the lost years and plenty debts hanging on my neck

We are entitled to certain allowances but we don't get them. We can barely even feed not to talk of saving to start a business. Are you aware that this month, no federal worker has been paid due to glitches in CBN. I have a very sure opportunity to leave this country but I can't even get 800k to process it, loans everywhere. Meanwhile I once had a private job where I earned 250k and I was leaving way better than this, just imagine how you'll live with 500k and even save enough to japa.

It's better you go for the federal govt job. The advantage is that, you have job security, you will have enough time or freedom to engage in other businesses that can fetch you money.and if there's any season you didn't get much money from your business, you can fall back or rely on your normal monthly salary, you can still travel abroad when you grow to a certain level in the federal work, you have anough freedom to further your education either in Nigeria or abroad, you will grow to the level of director as you get your promotions every three year. Unlike the govt work, if you chose the other job, you will enjoy 500k every month at the begining but your job security is not guaranteed, you can be fired at anytime. And if that happens you will go back to where you are coming from. Unlike the govt work, You will not have time to do other businesses, you need to understand that salary alone is not enough to take care of family and leave a wealthy life except you want to leave an average life. if not, You need to engage in businesses to make enough cash. One of my fear based on my past experiences is the pressure that comes with one man biz and how they are quick to sack especially if the biz isn't going as they wanted temporarily. I already have other biz outlined that I want to do personally if I shld pick the govt job. I'm already 41yrs and I may not be getting to the role of Director before retirement age plus I really want to japa and the 500k can help me gather enough money quicker to foot the bills.

For a federal Government job as medical worker, no matter your other qualifications they will start with you from level 7 and the pay is 95k monthly. I understand your point anyway about japa but I'm just scared of job security in private sector ( I can just be sacked after 2 months for whatever flimsy excuse) knowing I have been at home for 2 years without job

I wasn't called for interview,I have done all the interviews and it was successful. I have already received offer of employment from both already. I'm just confused on which one exactly is the best choice

I just got two jobs:
1. Federal Hospital Job - ₦95,000 monthly
2. General Manager of a subsidiary of a big pharmaceutical company - ₦500,000 monthly.

I have been out of job for 2yrs before these employments, I have really suffered that in those 2years, where my family have disowned cos I have been so poor and hopeless.

It's the salary bro, net pay is around ₦87k-90k and I'm a family man, responsibility is plenty... Going from 200k to 90k is huge, even when 200k isn't even enough. The 200k job is in Ibadan while the federal job I just got is in Ekiti, I was thinking with masters and yrs of working experience it will get me a senior role and not entry level... But obviously, it seems I am going to take it cos my wife kill me if I don't with the way things are going 😂😂

I recently got a federal job, I applied with masters degree and 13yrs work experience but I was given entry level appointment of CONHESS 7, step 2. Someone told me that they would regularize me to the appropriate grade level later on.... I'm not sure if I should take the job even though it is federal job.. Many of you may have not heard of a company called Sendme food technology limited but it is quite known in Ibadan for supplying proteins (meats) to customers via doorstep deliveries. They started has the cheapest available meats in Ibadan to catch the people's attention until they gradually started increase their prices. The concept is quite nice and interesting but the work environment is the most toxic I have ever seen in my years of experience... The CEO is quite young but the company has a culture of employing highly experienced staff and put them under people who has little or zero experience, imagine a 10yr experience staff reporting to a corper or an undergraduate... The company uses money to attract experience hands who later either get sacked or resign in frustration because the environment restrict them from being creative or bringing their idea and experience to use. Only what the CEO says is final and right, you dare not argue or suggest anything outside the scope given by the CEO...of you are looking to grow, Sendme isn't the place for you as an experienced person but if you are fresh graduate and wouldn't want to stay idle, it's the place for you just that you would be programmed in a way that you would believe only the CEO has the best answer to everything killing your creativity skill. Their staff turnover is crazy and the experience staff constitute more than 90%.... Average time spent in the organisation but experience staff is 2months, some have spent less than 2weeks... They will bring you from your steady job, sell to you the kind of job dreams you have and render you useless in the end...

I know 2 people who have worked there, they all have similar stories to tell. CEO insult the staff at will, call them names and even abuse their intelligence... If you get a job offer there, it's better you double check and think deeply if you are will to work in such a toxic environment where your dignity as a person would be trampled upon

You speak like you are one of their staff... Let me school you about biz of borrowing since you seem not to understand. Once borrower defaults, the first thing u are expected to do is to contact the person and find out why and then give the person grace of certain number of days to pay up, u don't just go about harassing his contact and even embarrass him, what if he had an accident or something terrible happens to him is that how you would just go about defaming his character? The problem is majorly caused by these Oride bikes with ₦50 ride anywhere in ibadan and now ₦100 anywhere in Ibadan... Ibadan is known for anything cheap/affordable... I know a couple that use to take bolt/merry taxi often but since emergence of Oride, the couple have now abandoned us... U should target peak period, especially when it is raining, that's when the will start looking for us. As soon as Oride promo is over, things should get better
