Why do we pretend not to know these things are happening on a daily basis? Those saddled with solving problems in this country are actually those benefitting and ensuring the continuation of the problem. From the very top to the bottom everything and everywhere stinks of corruption and rottenness.
The country has a long way to go. Even the customs boss is busy loading bags of rice making money from the smuggling he was meant to stop. Crazy country full of crazy people.
Watch how the customs will spin the story. We await their funny version of the story.

Every successive government from the time of Obasanjo has been telling us stories about this power sector without ever finding any meaningful solutions to the lingering problem now these ones have made the situation worse you don't have electricity and you can't buy much fuel to run your generator as before.
PoliticsRe: Economic Crisis: Obasanjo Urges Devolution Of Power, Resources To States by themanderon: 9:29am On Mar 01, 2024
Lysandre:
You don't understand anything about structural organization. The structure maximizes results even if the people's performance doesn't improve. BTW behaviour will change, and I will give you a simple example; once you move resource control to the states you will have revolutionized the economic options states have, even if it is driven by greed some states will exploit some of those resources. Restructuring will allow us to move from one oil revenue stream to at least 2. Even if only one state begins to exploit local mineral resources that is more money and prosperity(there is no way the politicians will steal literally 100% of what is generated, the same way they don't with oil). So even if Nigeria remains exactly as corrupt by simple virtue of restructuring there will be noticeable improvement.

I don't understand people like this, if you think that way about Nigerians then surely you must think there is no hope, why then do you even bother discussing our politics?
A system is only as good as those who practice it whether democracy, communism, socialism, true federalism etc.I have been in this country long enough to understand the psyche of the average Nigerian.
Many years ago one of my lecturers then in the university said why is it that any system that works well in other countries tends to fail when practiced here even from the first day and I found out the reason. It's us the people. Something is fundamentally wrong with our foundation and for the past 64 yrs we have been trying to patch it but the more we try the more failures we are recording.
We practiced the parliamentary system it failed we went so many years with military rule then back to presidential system now we are talking about going back to parliamentary system but truth is if we don't change our corrupt ways no system will ever function as intended.
We saw how inec raised our hopes about a free and fair election last year only for the same inec to.muddle up their own laws and promises they made before the election. So hope you understand what I am saying.

Did he have that much supporters to give him the so-called victory he got in 2023? He will simply rig his way in with or without the support of the people.
The Nigerian system is corrupt and rotten to the core.

@topic all you wrote up there is nothing but a waste of time. Even if the court give interpretation they will simply change it if it doesn't favour them.

FoodRe: Help! Is It Possible To Save My Egusi Soup? by themanderon: 10:10pm On Feb 29, 2024
thymetraveler:
Omoh yesterday I prepared a delicious egusi soup, garnished with chicken breast, pomo, goat meat, titus fish, dry fish and okporoko (stock fish)--in addition to other essential ingredients like spicy (knorr and star), pumpkin leaf, etc etc.

Had a go at it yesterday evening and it was really good smiley
Then I warmed it like around 11:00pm.

This morning, I warmed it like around 8:00 am; I would have frozen it in my freezer but I was expecting a fellow friend who'd told me he would be coming around so I didn't see the need for freezing it yet.

Now, this evening, I just remembered it when it was already 9:50pm--that's the thing sometimes with remote work; one could get engrossed in it sometimes especially if it's my kind that has to do with coding/programming and code analysis.
I just totally forgot sad

By the time I got to the soup, I saw it was almost starting to "foam", and I quickly put it on fire. After warming, it doesn't have the fresh taste it had anymore. Tastes a LITTLE bit sour and lacking flavour sad

Has anyone experienced this? What did you do to the soup (or what can be done)? Food experts.

Mods...
.
Otilo. My guy e don go. Bacteria has corrupted the taste of the soup.

A Nigerian lady has cried out online regarding her mother’s attitude of constantly rejecting her suitors, claiming that her husband is to come from a faraway country.

Sharing the plight she facing anonymously she revealed that she is always having dreams about her mother preventing her from getting married.

Her post read;

“Mommy’s in the house help my life o. I’ll be 24 years old in a few months. I noticed that anytime a suitor comes for my hand in marriage my mom would turn them down, saying a prophet told her my husband is not in Nigeria and that he’ll come from a faraway country. I didn’t take it seriously then cos I wasn’t ready, but now I’m ready, through with service I’m working and also a tailor. A man came for my hand in marriage my m said no o, that he’s not my husband that have I forgotten that my husband will come from a faraway place? Most times I see my mom in my dream telling me I will not marry. Pls help me o, what should I do? I really love this man o he loves me too, and for the past 2 years we’ve dated he’s been the best. Please, I need your advice o. My friends are telling me to do court even people that know my mom advised me to do court o. My dad no kúkú get say. What should I do? I’ll be I’m the comment section. Thank you [sic].”
You need serious prayers. There are forces beyond you trying to ruin you using your family members. It might be generational. They use deceptive prophesies to keep you chained and before you know it you are past your prime with no "abroad" husband and you cannot reverse your age to get new suitors.

I don't understand why Nigerians require dollars to buy something in Nigeria in the first place. Isn't this a crime?
In fact this is one of the reasons the naira is trash today. In some countries of the world you dare not spend what is not their legal tender but here anything goes. Was it not politicians that were busy sharing dollars last year during their conventions?
If they want the naira to grow ban the use of dollars in Nigeria and sell your crude in naira to your international customers. If they want your oil and gas let them convert their dollars to naira. Do this and watch the naira appreciate in months as this is the reason the Russians were able to survive Western sanctions till date. They made the Europeans buy their oil in roubles and it's value rose exponentially.
I know the government will not do these things because of vested interests.

No wonder they feel they owe no one any explanation for their wrongdoings.
Upgrade the living conditions of the people by making policies that would aid economic growth and things would naturally balance itself out.

PoliticsRe: PMS Price Per Litre In Nigeria & Some African Countries - StatiSense by themanderon: 10:51am On Feb 29, 2024
We should not be comparing just prices. Our Nigerian naira is just a worthless currency at the moment and among the worst-performing currencies in Africa.
It shouldn't be compared at all. Most of those listed countries have better performing economy than ours so there should be no comparison please.
Let us also compare their electricity supply and see we don't measure up. Ordinary Benin republic here has 24hrs supply yet I have not seen light in my area for almost 4days now.
All these APC e-rats would just gather themselves together to make stupid and baffling comparisons.
Nigeria is failing miserably when it comes to everything good in Africa. Step out of Nigeria and you will weep for what our leaders have done to us.

I don't like complaints. I love solutions.
A workable solution will not work in Nigeria. The truth is every sector of this messed up country lies in the hands of cabals. You need a strongman kind of president to dislodge these cabals and only a person like Obasanjo could have done this but he failed.
HealthRe: My Son Looks Like 7up's Fido Dido, Help!!!! by themanderon: 11:32pm On Feb 28, 2024
blazer2018:
Hi guys, please I really need your help.

I have a twelve years old son who is very lanky, he looks d*mn too malnourished for comfort. He was very robust from birth till around the age of 8, when all of a sudden he started depreciating, initially, we thought it was a normal thing, as he was growing taller too, but now, I can't even bring myself to post his pictures on my status. He looks just like 7up's Fido Dido.

Now, this is a boy who eats whatever he wants, he's well fed, and lacks nothing. But with his looks, you will doubt that he's even fed at all. Although he looks far from being healthy, but he rarely falls sick. He's so skiny that whoever sees him, asks us what's wrong with him. Another thing, he always leaves his mouth opened, something that has now affected his teeth. We tried every tricks in the book to stop this, but to no avail, he can hardly keep his lips shut for more than 30 seconds.

Now, he's is a very hyperactive boy and finds it difficult concentrating atimes, but he's well above average in school.

Kindly help with solutions to this problem, it brings tears to my eyes as we have done everything we can think of to reverse this. Recently, a doctor suggested we place him on egg regimen, he now eats 3 eggs daily, but there seems to be no changes whatsoever.
Recommended medications, specialist or hospital we can take him to, preferably in the South West would be highly appreciated.

He's my only child, please help a desperate father!!!🥺
It's only a phase he will soon outgrow.
