Soon the naira will be at 5000 to a dollar like play like play and you will need about 20k to buy a medium sized loaf of bread all because of our foolishness. We see light yet we deliberately choose darkness and complain when darkness sinks it's fangs into our flesh.
They stole political power and ran away with it now they don't know what to do with it anymore. How foolish can one be?

PoliticsRe: Hardship: Nigeria Almost On The Road To Venezuela – PDP Governors by themanderon: 12:50pm On Feb 13, 2024
Even the Venezuela has stable 24hr electricity while we have nothing here.

I am very angry that these guys have not been able to turn on the heat for these criminals in Apc. They took great delight in maligning Jonathan but the pdp are going too soft on them.

kay29000:
Exactly what i tell people when they compare us to other oil producing countries. They'll say see Saudi Arabia...see Qatar...we don't have the amount of oil those countries have, and we also can't compare our populations. Saudi Arabia population is 35 million, and Qatar population is just 2 million...Nigerian population is 100 times the population of Qatar.

We have too many mouths to feed on our oil welath, not to mention the men that have 9-10 kids that they can't feed...dead weight.
You are now shifting the blame from the years of mismanagement, misrule and corruption of our leaders to the people? No wonder politicians will continue to take docile and easily manipulated Nigerians for fools.

Apc was supposedly elected to work to better the lives of the people but they have taken it upon themselves to keep giving untenable excuses upon excuses. If the job is too hard for them let them resign and get their stinking bodies out of power but they won't do it.
PoliticsRe: Bayo Onanuga: Nigeria’s Wealth Overestimated, Country Very Poor by themanderon: 8:33am On Feb 13, 2024
Overestimated but they are busy buying cars worth millions for themselves and living lavish lifestyles at the expense of the ever poor and docile people of Nigeria.

Dangote Refinery and Portharcourt Refinery, I don't know which of them is going to win the contest of;

We will,

Will begin,
Will start,
Whenever you see those words and phrases you will have a very loooooooong wait. It's the language Nigeria politicians use to deceive the masses.

The last time, we were informed that it's the quality control regulators that are yet to clear the jet A1 fuel and diesel produced for delivery into the market .

Does it take eternity for a product to meet regulators specifications?
This is Nigeria. Nothing ever works as intended.

Even though this news put a smile on my face but "in weeks" tu ni? 😦

NNPCL won't need to spend billions of dollars importing petrol, jet fuel, kerosene, diesel etc once the PH and Dangote refinery start selling. this will lead to the naira breathing some fresh air soon.
You may be surprised naira will keep rising abi no be Nigeria again? Which economic law has ever worked here?

I wanted to say the damage is not up to even 500 million. But I remember Naira keeps falling in value and the school management will likely eat through padding of expenses.

And guess what! Students will pay the money or government allocation will be diverted.
The students will pay with abeg.

Seems you don't know many of these African countries are doing tremendously better than Nigeria?
Our politicians have eaten the future of the country. Nothing is left again.

I understand what you mean but in safety management, there is what we call risk analysis. It helps to identify and reduce the risk of hazard to the barest minimum. Some accidents are avoidable. That's my point
Ow ok.

RUBBISH TRASH. Even your Jesus self go give an account of his own lies to God.

No man is GOD.
I have only borne witness to what you and indeed all humans that ever lived will face after death. You can mock or say whatever you want to say it changes nothing.

Your religious brainwashing is complete and permanent. Emancipate yourself from your mental slavery.
One day you will stand and give account of all you just typed before this same Jesus.

Due diligence. I was just about saying this.
I mean I know not everyone would but I definitely check the history of aircraft models I will be travelling with.
Hahaha. Check from now till eternity what will be will be. There are aircrafts that have been made newly that still crashed. There are some that have been in operation for decades yet they are still functioning. Even the said copter that killed him has been in service for some time and people have been getting on and off the craft.
Life is full of uncertainties. What about someone that was full of life just a few minutes ago but suddenly dropped dead the next minute? I have seen someone who went for a routine medical checkup and after seeing the doctor she came out and was waiting for her driver, but while waiting she suddenly collapsed and that was it for her as she died right there in the hospital.
Life is a mystery.

Meanwhile back to the reality facing us in Nigeria at the moment.........

Man down
Wife down
Children down, all in a snap.

The rate at which aircrafts are crashing in the US lately is alarming.

All the wealth, millions of dollars left behind will now be inherited by family members who contributed nothing to his life.

LIFE!
It is written in the Bible that he that acquires wealth does not know who will gather them. Life is a mystery. Let us live well and give our lives to Christ so we can be assured of life after death. Nothing is in this world ooooo.

The way I used to admire this man's dexterity.what a world! His wife and kids exited with him the very same day.
At times I wonder what is the essence of this life. All his wealth, money, intelligence gone within an instant.
Truly everything in this world is vanity and vexation of spirit. Haa Herbert is gone with the wind! So sad. Rip to the dead.

...I hope our thieving politicians will learn from this. All the money they steal will be left behind in this world while their pathetic and wicked souls will burn forever.

Hamas doesn't have a monopoly of violence and terror. Israel is showing them just that. Natenyahu is ready to sacrifice all Israeli hostages in his quest to destroy Hamas. Even the dead are not resting in peace.
I only pity the poor Palestinians who are cought up in this vignette of violence.

malali:
The Past Nigerian administration lack revenue generating ideas, they have been running the pocket money economy system. Instead of taking revenue generated from the oil boom since late 70's till date. They have just looted the money and used the rest to subsidize lifestyle of Nigerians (fuel subsidy). Now they can barely afford the subsidy and also pay salaries, pension and also politicians. So they are transferring the subsidy to the common man, this will free up cash for them to loot, and run the government. Eventually even without paying subsidy there still wont be enough cash to run the government (We are already in this stage, thats why they keep borrowing money up and down, which devalues our currency). See some countries that have also used the same oil to prosper their nation as a whole.
Norway: Norway has built a sovereign wealth fund, known as the Government Pension Fund Global, which invests proceeds from oil and gas production. The fund is one of the largest in the world and has investments in various sectors globally, providing a stable source of income for the country.

United Arab Emirates (UAE): The UAE, particularly Dubai and Abu Dhabi, has diversified its economy beyond oil by investing heavily in sectors such as tourism, real estate, finance, and technology. Dubai, in particular, has become a global hub for trade, finance, and tourism.

Qatar: Qatar has leveraged its natural gas reserves to become one of the world's leading exporters of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Additionally, Qatar has invested in various sectors, including finance, real estate, and sports, to diversify its economy.

Singapore: Although Singapore does not produce oil itself, it has established itself as a major trading and refining hub for oil and petroleum products in the Asia-Pacific region. Singapore has also diversified its economy into sectors such as finance, shipping, biotechnology, and tourism.

Malaysia: Malaysia has developed a diverse economy, with thriving manufacturing, services, and tourism sectors alongside its oil and gas industry. The country has also invested in infrastructure projects and technology to support economic growth.

Netherlands: The Netherlands, home to one of Europe's largest natural gas reserves, has invested oil and gas revenues into developing a highly advanced economy with strong industries in agriculture, manufacturing, trade, and services.

These countries serve as examples of how strategic planning, prudent investment, and diversification efforts can help mitigate the economic risks associated with dependence on oil revenues. By investing in other sectors and fostering innovation, these nations have been able to thrive beyond their oil wealth.
All the money made by Nigeria has been invested in politicians to give themselves and their families a brighter future while ordinary Nigerians perish in hunger.

Ideally, this is a good policy but then again this is Nigeria where nothing works the way it is intended.
