We've Lost a Great Friend, NAOSNP Mourns Abdul Imoyo, Consoles Access Bank, Family

The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has commiserated with management of Access Bank and the entire Imoyo family on the demise of the organisation's Head of Media and Public Relations, Mr. Abdul Imoyo, whose sad event occurred on Sunday, December 17, 2023.

The Association, in a statement made available to the media, decried the untimely death of the public relations executive, describing it as a occurrence that will affect the media space.

Speaking in the statement, the President of NAOSNP, Mr. Oki Samson on behalf of the Association, described the late Imoyo, as a great friend, who will be sincerely missed. He recalled the great periods he had been a pillar and great encouragement for the Association, saying his lost is a great blow.

A graduate of the Lagos State University and University of Lagos, Imoyo, a seasoned Public Relations and Communication expert, is known to have brought industry and joviality in the discharge of his duties, creating immense cordiality among everyone he came across.

Abdul is a holder of Bachelor of Science in Public Relations Administration from Lagos State University and a Masters of Administration from the University of Lagos (UNILAG)

His expertise, experience and industrious nature will surely be missed in the banking industry, and among media practitioners.

Nigeria Police Green Initiatives: The Unbeatable Dynamism in Crime Fighting, Environmental and Social Development

"The only thing that is constant in life is change and it is inevitable". This assertion triggered the Nigeria Police Force to think outside the box for enhanced policing skills, styles and innovations in discharging it statutory duties as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999) as amended.

The Nigeria Police Force has, in an unprecedented move, positioned itself at the forefront of environmental consciousness and crime-fighting dynamism through the implementation of the Nigeria Police Green Initiative (NPGI). This groundbreaking sustainable development program spearheaded by the country's foremost internal security and law enforcement agency is a momentous leap towards innovative, eco-friendly solutions with far-reaching social, economic, and environmental benefits.
Unveiled at 3the Twenty-Eighth Session of the Conference of Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Dubai, UAE, the NPGI symbolizes Nigeria's commitment to global sustainability goals. It's a demonstration of the country's proactive stance in catalyzing widespread environmental shifts for both national and global climate targets.

At the heart of this initiative is a multi-pronged strategy. The NPF plans to revolutionize its energy consumption by transitioning to renewable sources, specifically solar and gas for patrol vans and powering police infrastructure like barracks and stations, and host communities. This bold step not only ensures a reduced carbon footprint but also brings light to communities for effective policing while actively contributing to the protection of our environment.

Furthermore, the NPF intends to lead by example in sustainable transportation methods, aiming to convert its fleet to electric and gas vehicles. This forward-thinking approach not only diminishes vehicular emissions but also advances healthier lifestyles among police personnel and the broader populace.

However, the NPGI doesn't limit its impact to internal operations. It pledges to engage local communities, raising awareness about climate change, and fostering climate adaptation and mitigation efforts. Surprisingly, I have read and heard critisms from those who do not understand, or have failed to believe in our intentions and plans to be in tandem with the global mechanisms of renewable energy and Go-Green Initiative, as we protect lives and property and the environment. The misunderstanding and misconception of the Police's green initiatives by some individuals, no doubt, could be linked to trust deficit and wrongfully perceived insensitivity on the part of the police which are already being given due attention by the present Egbetokun-led leadership.

We make bold to reiterate that the green initiative of the Nigeria Police Force would not only reposition the police institution in our dear county, but also inject new ideas and more innovations into our social, political and cultural settings as a multidimensional country.

The journey to actualising our plans to emplace a police force that is professionally competent, rule of law compliant, service driven, and people friendly that will strive hard to complement the agenda of the government towards economic recovery, social integration and political development in Nigeria, is not far at all. This is achievable.

Shiloh, the annual event, which takes place in Canaanland, Ota, waited until the second day when Bishop Thomas Aremu, revealed Dunsin Oyekan as special guest minister during the Encounter Night. Wednesday night (December 9), Dunsin Oyekan rendered soulful worship to GOD inside the Faith Tabernacle.

Dunsin was born in Ilorin, Nigeria, to the family of Gbadebo Oyekan, the General Overseer of Evangelical Baptist Church. He began playing the guitar at age 10, encouraged by his father who once led ‘Spiritual Singers’, a music group that focused on experiencing GOD through worship. Dunsin studied Industrial Chemistry at the University of Ilorin, Kwara, Nigeria and, in 2014, GOD called him fully into the worship ministry.

To many, he has cemented his legacy as one of Africa's greatest Gospel exports.

Dunsin’s life is dedicated to bringing the GOD dimension into the world through sounds imparted to him by the Holy Spirit. His passion is worshipping Jesus and leading others closer to Him through music. For over two decades, he has birthed revelationary songs, sang in choirs, and served as a music director. The Owase Community Professionals’ Forum (OCPF) once again convened on August 5, 2023, marking another pivotal moment in her journey towards actualization of its objectives among which is to reposition Owase community youth for productive social and economic living.
The event that was held in August centered around Youth Transformation Programs with the focus to empower the upcoming generation of youths to live an impactful life making meaningful contributions to the development of the community and the society at large

Building on the momentum initiated during its official inauguration in 2022 by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, OON, the Olubaka of Oka Land, the OCPF continues to serve as a beacon of hope for Owase Community and Oka land as a whole. Spearheaded by the visionary leadership of Dr. Benard Omoyeni, the forum has rapidly evolved into an instrumental platform dedicated to advancing human capital and socio-economic development of Owase Community of Oka Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria.
The Owase Community Professionals’ Forum (OCPF) established in 2019 has evolved as a transformational force within Owase Community, the forum is driven by the collective efforts of accomplished sons and daughters of the community spanning various profession with the mission to consolidate the skills and resources of illustrious Owase Sons and Daughters who have excelled in their respective chosen careers and professions, to propel the community towards socio-economic prosperity.

Since its inception, OCPF has spearheaded impactful initiatives, spanning from crucial infrastructure improvements such as industrial borehole repairs and face lifting of Owase Community hall and vital support during the COVID-19 pandemic through the provision of agrochemical supplies and relief efforts. These endeavors underscore OCPF's unwavering commitment to advancing human capital, fostering job opportunities, and fortifying the infrastructure of Owase.

The historical trajectory of OCPF, tracing its origins from conceptualization in April 2019 to its official unveiling in August 2022, showcases a resolute dedication to progress. Anchored in strategic planning, the forum's initiatives encompass the establishment of endowment funds, strategic partnerships, scholarship programs, skill development initiatives, medical outreach, and systematic evaluations. These concerted efforts aim to uplift every facet of the Owase Community.
The youth empowerment event of August again demonstrated OCPF commitment to its core vision. Gracing the event were a distinguished personalities, including High Chief W. A. Ajakaiye, the Olowase of Owase Oka; Prof. Bolanle Ogungbamila, Director of Academic Planning at Adekunle Ajasin University; Pastor (Dr.) Benard Omoyeni, National Coordinator of OCPF and MD/CEO of Palmadex Global Integrated Services Ltd; Pastor Shola Ologun, Administrative Manager at Multichem Industries Ltd; Mr Dare Owolabi, MD/CEO Jumabot Hotels and OCPF Board of Trustee Chairman, Prof. Francis Gbore, Vice Chancellor of Sam Maria University; Mr Sunday Ajobiwe, MD/CEO Damien Press Ltd and Hon Kunle Tiamiyu of the National Open University of Nigeria., Abuja. Others are, ASP Margret Amoko. Mr Clement Akerele, Owase Community Development Secretary, Pastor Stephen Osim, the Resident Pastor of the Living Faith Church, Oka Akoko and Prophet Adebayo, the founder of the Mountain of Testimony Prayer Center. Their presence emphasized their dedication to nurturing and empowering the youth within the Owase Community. The event's key highlights encompassed lectures by Prof. Bolanle Ogungbamila on 'Recovering Owase Youths from Socio-cultural Decadence' and Pastor (Dr.) Benard Omoyeni's insights into 'Building Impactful Career and Business Life.

Speaking at the event, Pastor (Dr.) Benard Omoyeni in his welcome address emphasized the need for participants to leverage the empowerment program to advance their lives, encouraging them to absorb knowledge for productive living. He underscored the significance of the event, urging everyone to pay keen attention to discussions on youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and effects of drug abuse. Pastor Shola Ologun, the OCPF Program Committee Chairman echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the value of the opportunity of the event which was not available to them while growing up at the community. He urged the youth to fully embrace the event's offerings, emphasizing the need to strive for greatness with determination while steering clear of drugs and immorality. His encouragement focused on utilizing the program to better themselves, highlighting the success stories within the OCPF as proof of what can be achieved even with limited resources and opportunities.
In his goodwill address, the Olowase of Owase Community, High Chief Wlliams Ajaikaiye expressed his delight at the platform provided by the Forum to emancipate the youth and the community from the myriads of the socio-economic and cultural issues militating again the growth and development of the community. He expressed his appreciation and goodwill to the leadership of the Forum for coming to the aid of the community to salvaging it from decadence while giving back to their root.

The event’s focal point were elucidated through impactful lectures. Professor Bolanle Ogungbamila expounded on “Recovering Owase Youths from Socio-Cultural Decadence”, highlighting the evils of drug abuse. His comprehensive lecture outlined the negative effects, prevalence of drug abuse among Nigerian youths, and its connections to social vices. Professor Ogungbamila proposed solutions centered on education, empowerment, and functional support systems to counter these issues.

Subsequently, Pastor (Dr.) Benard Omoyeni delivered a lecture titled "Building Impactful Career and Business Life." He emphasized the importance of youth empowerment, linking it to poverty eradication, fostering education, and creating job opportunities. His lecture focused on practical steps for starting up businesses, developing careers, and the essential aspects of a well-rounded life—spiritual, financial, emotional, and intellectual wellness. Pastor Omoyeni emphasized the spiritual aspect of financial wellness, advocating for diligence, spiritual intelligence, and relying on God for success.

The lectures collectively highlighted the challenges faced by youths and provided a holistic approach to tackling these issues. They stressed the significance of empowerment, education, and maintaining a balanced life. The fusion of these insights aimed to equip the participants with the tools and knowledge necessary for a successful and impactful future. The event was well attended with over 200 youths in attendance. Key highlights of the event was the assurance given the youth by the OCPF National Coordinator of the Forum’s willingness to partner with funding agencies, NGOs for provision of the needed supports in the areas of education, job creation, employment and business startups among others,

HISTORY OF OCPF
With a vision to create a formidable platform to advancing the human capital development and socio-economic development of Owase Community, OCPF was inspired by God on April 14, 2019 through the pioneer and the present National Coordinator, Dr. Benard Omoyeni. The assembly of sons and daughters of Owase in Nigeria and disapora was convocated and the OCPF was birthed when the maiden online meeting was held April 28, 2019.
To drive the vision of the OCPF effectively, the forum has consequently since inception taken giant strides to becoming viable, credible and formidable body in advancing the cause of the Owase community through the passage of OCPF constitution in June 2019, election of Executive officers, June 30, 2019, courtesy visit to the Palace of Olubaka of Oka land, HRM, Kabiyesi, Oba (Dr.) Yusuf Adebori Adeleye OON and High Chief Williams Ajakaiye, the Olowase of Oka land on August 3, 2020 to share the vision of the Forum with the Kabiyesi and Olowase respectively and to receive royal blessings from the duo, registration with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as a Non Governmental Organization (NGO), July 25, 2021, launching of its official website www.ocpf.com.ng and the formal unveiling of the Forum to the public at the inauguration event held August 5, 2022.
Having a strong determination to create opportunities for the people of Owase Community towards achieving their dreams and aspirations, OCPF have been engaging and intend to engage further; 
- the creation of endowment fund that will be funded by the members and support from other well-meaning individuals, corporate bodies, development partners and NGOs
- partnerships with other NGOs and Donor Agencies to generate needed funds for socio-economic and infrastructural development of our community; 
- introduction of Scholarship programs to support indigent students and those deserving from primary to tertiary level; 
- building of entrepreneurial and Information Communication Technology skills among our people especially youths through training, seminars and mentorship; 
-the provision of medical outreach periodically; 
- carrying out quarterly self-assessment/peer review and audit to review performances, are part of the strategies being adopted by Owase Community Professionals Forum to accomplish its set visions and objectives.

In the world of business and in the charity space both locally and internationally, her reputation stands her out for enormous goodwill and love towards societal development. As an economic policy expert, the widely-read Dr. Ochei is adept at properly dissecting national issues. At a Lecture Series organized by a publishers’ forum in Delta state, Nigeria, Dr. Ochei addressing the country’s fiscal matters noted that ‘Strengthening public financial management and enhancing the efficiency and equity of public spending will build trust in the system and improve compliance and revenue collection. It can help people and businesses feel that economic activity will pick up and alleviate their financial discomfort. Therefore, there is a strong need for government at all levels to balance revenue generation and economic growth.’

She added: ‘The government needs to ensure that the tax collection process is efficient, transparent, and accountable to promote trust and confidence in the system. Thus, the government needs to balance revenue generation with promoting economic growth and development without harming the economy or specific sectors.’

As a remarkable philanthropist, the member of the Institute of Directors (IOD), Doris Ochei has the knack for spotting needs and opportunities which many do not sight or perceive. This is how she could spot the long-abandoned Onicha Olona Market. She singlehandedly resurrected a local market which was abandoned into decrepit state over 20 years ago. Not only getting the market back to activity, she ensured that the streetlights were installed to facilitate night trade and commerce. Apart from that, she empowered 89 market women with N50,000 each to enhance their trading activities.

Focusing on the multi-million naira project, Dr. Doris Ochei initially subscribed to restoring a bad road in Delta state and then in the process, she observed that there was an abandoned market. ‘The road leading to the market was decayed, in ruin and wrecked. The market, the Onicha Olona market was originally built by the Aniocha North LGA of Delta state in 2003. But the people for whom it was supposed to bring succor for business – an open place where they are to gather in public for buying and selling of merchandise, especially farm produce could not access the location.’

‘As a result, what was supposed to bring help and relief to them was in an unpleasant condition. Frustration set in and the site was accordingly abandoned’, reported a journalist.

The wife of Maj. Gen. Raymond Ochei, Dr. (Mrs) Doris Ochei saw the situation as unbecoming and empathized with the people. This led to the reconstruction of the road which has since been named after her as the Doris Amaka Ochei road, Onicha Olona. The market, on its part, was rebuilt and made fit for night business with the installation of streetlight.

A community leader also reminisced about the market, ‘This market was built 20 years ago by Mr. Callistus Nwawolo who was the Local Government Chairman then. When the market was completed, the road was dilapidated and it discouraged traders from coming because it was a difficult terrain. The people resorted to trading at the centre of the road in town. But Dr. (Mrs.) Doris Amaka Ochei stepped in and uprooted all the trees.’

The Mother General of the Anioma Nation, HRM Obi Martha Dunkwu who unveiled the plaque of the reconstructed Onicha-Olona market hailed the President of DAO Foundation for legendary philanthropy and kindheartedness which saw her embarking on such a massive project. The Omu Anioma then presented the Traditional Akwa Ocha to Doris Ochei as a mark of encouragement and appreciation.

In a letter of commendation to the President of DOA Foundation, the Chairman of Aniocha North LGA, Delta state, Hon. Kevin Okwechime expressed: ‘I write to appreciate the philanthropic gesture of your Foundation, Dr. Doris Amaka Ochei Foundation, which recently undertook the rehabilitation of the [i]Council’s market in Onicha-Olona. There is no doubt that your modest contribution to communal self-help effort in this regard would ultimately complement the Local Government’s developmental aspirations of stimulating the rural economy through commerce. The Local Government therefore immensely commend your patriotic spirit/goodwill and urge your Foundation to remain steadfast in its mission to impact on community service and humanity at large.[/i]’

Doris Amaka Ochei is not only popular on the outside, she is popular to friends and associates such as those with whom she graduated from secondary school. She is a very active member of her old school association, Ezemu Girls Grammar School Old Students Association (EGGSOSA), Ubulu Uku, Delta state. There, she takes up important roles including lectures and trainings. She also built an ultramodern, multipurpose hall for the Ezemu Girls Grammar School which is her alma mater.

Personalities like Doris Ochei can never be hidden just like the Biblical ‘City set on the hill’. She was honored with the Global Icon for Community Development and Humanitarian Services 2023 on 5th August, 2023 by the African Diaspora Living Legend Award in Frankfurt, Germany. The press release by the Awards Committee noted about Dr. Mrs. Ochei, ‘Your visionary leadership at Doris Amaka Ochei Foundation (DAOF) and your commitment to sustainable development as exemplified by the rehabilitation and expansion of Onicha Olona Modern Market which has inspired a wide range of income generating and livelihood enhancing activities did not go unnoticed by the Award Committee members.’

‘The rebuilding and rehabilitation of the road leading to the market further demonstrated your humanity, acumen, and tenacity that eventually created an enabling environment for wealth creation and poverty alleviation through DAO Foundation.’

‘Your activities and humanitarian works are in tandem with the United Nations Resolution A/RES/69/16 to promote the recognition, justice, and development of people of African descent worldwide’, the Awards committee asserted.

Not only did Doris Ochei made herself proud with her giant strides, the organizers of the African Diaspora Living Legend Award, the African German Information Center announced the Ochei Family as Global Icon of Anioma Culture and Heritage for beautifully presenting Anioma culture with their full Anioma cultural attire at the event.

More laurels, locally and internationally, will definitely come for Dr. Doris Ochei, by the Grace of GOD, as she continues on the trajectory of betterment of society.

The Head of the INTERPOL National Crime Bureau (NCB), Force Criminal Investigations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Sikiru Lanre Bankole has retired from the Nigeria Police Force in grand style after crossing the retirement age mark. The retirement Thanksgiving celebration which coincided with his birthday held at the Kayode Egbetokun Police Cooperative Event Center, Abeokuta, Ogun state, Trek Africa Newspaper can report.


The special event had in attendance high-ranking police officers, both serving and retired and a large number of the creme de la creme in the society. They include the AIG in charge of Zone 2 (Lagos and Ogun), AIG Ari Mohammed Ali, Board member of Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan; AIG Alapini rtd, DIG Johnson Kokumo (rtd), DIG Bode Adeleke rtd, AIG Hakeem Odumosu (retd), AIG Kunle Asafa (retd), CP Ebun Oluwarotimi Adelesi (retd); Wife of the retiring AIG, Mrs. Modupe Bankole and CEO of Badinson Security Limited, Mr. Matthew Ibadin.

In his prayers for the newly retired police officer, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan declared upon his life, 'I usher you into a new beginning. Dr. Ogunsan eulogized the celebrant, AIG Sikiru Lanre Bankole (retd) as a 'leader, mentor, inspiration, and a very great man' who is well-grounded in the guiding laws and principles which govern policing both within Nigeria and in the international front.


The retired Head of the INTERPOL NCB, AIG Sikiru Bankole was engaged into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1990. He holds a Degree in Law and is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He has the knack for working with various people from different backgrounds, cultures, and races.
The affable personality, AIG Lanre Bankole (retd) has attended several leadership and strategic courses within and outside Nigeria including UN Logistics Officers Course, Ghana; Workshop on Financial Crime Investigation, Badagry; UNODC & Interpol Conference on Drug Trafficking, Spain; Workshop on Africa Border Security, South Africa; International Conference on Drug Trafficking, Taiwan; INTERPOL General Assembly, Chile. He served in various operational, investigative and administrative capacities within the Nigeria Police Force including as DCP INTERPOL and CP INTERPOL, FCID Abuja and CP Ogun State Command.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, delivered a compelling speech at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai, outlining the significant strides to be made by the Nigeria Police Force in environmental sustainability through the Nigeria Police Green Initiatives (NPGI). The motivating motto, "Saving People with Environment," underscores the Police Force's commitment to addressing environmental challenges and fostering sustainable practices, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.
The core mission of NPGI aligns with global efforts to combat climate change and contribute to a more environmentally friendly society. The IGP emphasized the crucial role law enforcement plays in ensuring a safer and more sustainable future and called for collective support to address climate challenges.
Recognizing the global shift towards sustainable energy, the IGP highlighted the Police Force's active involvement in facilitating energy transition initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint. As part of a key developmental strategy, the IGP announced initiatives such as tree planting in all Police commands and formations, using gas to drive Police patrol vans, a continuous campaign for renewable energy initiatives in Nigeria, and a strategic approach to light up communities and police stations aims to create well-lit and secure environments, contributing to a reduction in crime rates and fostering community development.
