Family / Re: Advise, My Father Sold His House And Moved To The Village Now He Wants To Leave by TheMohican(m): 12:45am On Jan 27
Klass99:
Tell him to sell the village house, like he did the town house and rent a 3 bedroom apartment.

You pay the piper (meaning you do the heavy financial lifting) yet you are allowing him dictate to you what kind of house to get. Can you not act like your siblings even a little to force him to adjust his attitude and expectations?

If I were you, I will not rent him a new place, he will stay in that village house where close to N2 million was spent installing solar power. You will continue to renew his rent each year if you let him leave the villa, do you have the means to sustain that? You go taya o!

Renting when he owns a house in the villa is not a wise use of money. A good father leaves an inheritance for his children's children, what is your own father doing? Financially wrecking you, like you rightly said.

Modified to add; You are too old to care and too old to be worrying about what your cousins will say or do. Screw them! Their opinions should be the least of your concerns, the preservation, wise use and multiplication of your resources should be your priority, or don't you have children of your own to take care of and plan for?

Nawaoo, you thought this up and believed that you had advice worth sharing?

Ok seriously, yes, it’s possible to give your first fruit to the lord. But know what your bible says about tithes, as things are I don’t pay every month.

Hello guys,

For some days now I have been on a serious dilemma whether to resign from my federal government job that pays me above N200k for my current position and migrate to the UK or stay in naija and set up a business to augment my salary. I will be 34 years next year, I feel traveling to the uk for studies next year September will delay my chances of getting married, as I have planned not exceeding 34 years without getting married.

I belong to the school of thought that believes can make it in Nigeria despite all odds. However, considering the economic realities of the country, I have recently contemplating of japa and maybe get a Nigerian lady for marriage after my studies.

Please I earnestly need matured advice from you guys to know how to start the coming year.

Cc:Justwise

Stay in Nigeria. You can make it.

Asaba natives weren’t killed in their thousands because of their igboness only for their killers to come and say they aren’t igbos

Politics / Re: Obi Is Beginning To Disappoint Me by TheMohican(m): 10:51pm On Nov 06, 2022
NwaIdeato:
Now hear me out, I'm still a loyal, dedicated and unapologetical Obidient, but I'm beginning to feel that Obi is simply too nice (r maybe too naive) for the Nigerian laissez-faire brand of politics which encourages mediocrity and "anything goes"...my point is, why does Obi have to attend every damn media hosting? It's becoming clear that despots like Tinubu and Atiku don't care about answering to Nigerians and can pick and choose their own narratives since they have all the political muscle to rig their way into power anyway, so why can't Obi just say "fucck it" and also play by the dirty rules of Nigerian politics by shunning all media outlets and doing his own "BIGMANism" since he's also a major contender as well? Obi is just too nice and unfortunately been honest, accountable and transparent doesn't pander to the principles of some Nigerians who have come to accept tyrannical attitudes from our political leaders because of ethnic and religious sentiments.

You have a point

Usenokpevbo:

Economically, Enugu is not among top
My top 7 economically are

1. Lagos

2. Kano

3. Ph

4. Abuja

5. Onitsha

6. Benin city

7. I would still smuggle Asaba before Enugu. Don't underestimate Asaba, its proximity to onitsha is an advantage

Calabar and Uyo are mere aesthetics, they have no economic value. Infacts the only three cities in the south of Nigeria that can stand or defeat Benin city economically are Lagos conveniently, Onitsha and Ph arguably. Benin is about twice the population of Enugu and it would knock out Enugu anytime anyday

First off, Onitsha isn’t a state capital, neither is Abuja.

Secondly only a man with a false agenda would put Asaba city before Enugu, I’ve been to both, and although ENUGU AS A STATE is nowhere compared to Delta state, Enugu (the city) is ahead of Asaba… once more I’ve lived in both, and even when I schooled in anambra I often spend days and weeks in both, Asaba isn’t a bad city by any standard but Enugu is better, it’s more open, has better road networks, has more upscale neighborhoods and is larger. What Asaba is mainly Nnebisi road and a few other nice places.

FFS when did Asaba even get a shoprite?

Rated by who,??

Rated by common sense my dear, you can’t compare Enugu as in coal city, with many states in the North, you can’t even compare it with Asaba, in the entire SS/SS the only state capitals that are comparable to Enugu are Uyo and PH, even Calabar no reach Enugu.
