Thanks for clarifying

Apart from alerting the public, I hope you also learned a few lessons from this experience.

Like you've already noted, legal counsel would be helpful

Please speak to your lawyers for appropriate guidance.

You could update the house on how it goes.

Thanks again for sharing.

Thank you. We are definitely going to speak to our lawyers, if the guy with our money refuses to settle for an amicable resolution as he has been proving all along.

Thanks for sharing

Was this part of the initial PRIVATE agreement you had with him: to PUBLICLY humiliate him once there's a misunderstanding?

Of course you could feel disappointed with how it turned out, but what exactly are you hoping to achieve with this approach?

There are more professional ways to resolve contractual issues.

Thanks again

He breached our private agreement by refusing to do the work which we provided him funds for. The professional thing to do is to file a suit against him, but he had not provided us his full address and this will be needed if we are to proceed to file suit. And the purpose of this post is to help us gather useful information to this end and to alert the public so nobody else falls victim.

Could you suggest other professional ways to resolve this sort of issue with someone who was told to return our money or proceed with the agreed work and refused to any of these?

Thank you.

Go to his house.
Go to his school.....and sort whatever issue you have with him.

We are based in Lagos and do not have his full address. On applying to join our team, he claimed he was located at Lagos. Later, he said he was located at Ibadan. This post was made so we could connect with anyone who could help us locate him.

Does anybody here have real life (offline) connection with this guy Timileyin Ajuwon, a student of FUTA? He started working with us recently and was given some money to cover work expenses *for 2 weeks of work. After 3 days of sloppy work, he disappeared and could not be reached on phone or internet, only to reappear claiming he was sick. He was asked to provide a sick report to back his claim. Since then he has refused to do the work and has held on to our money. He refuses to answer our calls or reply our messages, in fact he ends our calls. We are trying to track him offline to recover our money. This is also an opportunity to alert the general public about his conduct, especially those doing business on the internet. His website is www.timileyinajuwon.com.ng and he has a testimonial up in the name of our founder Ahmed Hassan which was never written for him.

Nairaland / General / How To Cut Down Trolls And Haters On Social Media by TheNewsghost: 10:53pm On Jul 12, 2018
Social media platforms overtime have served as online communication channels for sharing contents, ideas, concepts views and opinions with different people across the world and online communities for connecting with people. If used properly, social media serves a good purpose. It is a great avenue to start interesting discussions and meet amazing people. But it is also an online haven for haters and trolls.

Haters here mean those who do not like your opinions or comments because they disagree, while trolls are those who enjoy making you feel bad once they are online.

On social networking platforms such as: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, Nairaland and several other online communities, there are people whose main objective is to make fun of others or show them strong hatred, even though they have never met physically before.

Our discussion here will focus on how to cut down trolls and haters on social media platforms.

Here are a few ideas to get started with - See link https://thenewsghost.com.ng/how-to-cut-down-trolls-and-haters-on-social-media/

Business / Curing Some Maladies Of Small And Micro Enterprises by TheNewsghost: 2:42pm On Jul 10, 2018
In this piece, I have deliberately replaced 'challenges' with 'maladies' to highlight the subtle but devastating nature of their impact on business - just as diseases wreck the body.

Understanding certain peculiar challenges facing micro enterprises and small businesses would allow us to solve the puzzle of why not less than eighty percent of small businesses in Nigeria fail between two to three years of operation. These circumstances appear trivial but have negative impacts on businesses, if not properly managed.

Countless essays have been written on the reasons small businesses fail and how to curb them. Unfortunately, none has aptly identified realistic scenarios and circumstances surrounding their operations which are breeding grounds for failure if they are not optimized.

See some scenarios and what small and micro enterprises can do to overcome such situations - https://thenewsghost.com.ng/curing-some-maladies-of-small-and-micro-enterprises/

Foreign Affairs / After America's 2016 Election Trumped by TheNewsghost: 11:16am On Nov 10, 2016
What has become clear, after America’s 2016 election, is that the majority are incapable of making logical decisions and therefore rendering the concept of democracy futile.

All across the board we have people voting with emotions not logic, fear instead of reason, identity politics instead of policy and morality. Popularity instead of conscience. Herd mentality instead of individual assessment.

So who can you blame for this outcome?

Politics / Rumours Of 'secret' New Nigerian Political Party Spread by TheNewsghost: 11:40am On Nov 06, 2016
Political observers say the heated political situation in Nigeria is suggesting the formation of a new political party.

A ranking senator of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), told journalists that the rise of a new party is inevitable. ‘Honestly speaking, the APC as ruling party has failed. It’s an almagamation of various camps, such as that of President Muhammadu Buhari, the camp of ex-vice president Atiku Abubakar, the one of Bola Tinubu and that of the likes of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, all with distinct philosophy,’ he said. The senator added that, ‘The problems in the National Assembly has already polarized the government and worse still, is the fact that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC is sharply divided.’

The seeds developed by the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center is expected to help combat drought-induced food insecurity that has affected millions of people in southern Africa over the past years due to climate change and its effects.

Nairaland / General / Whistleblower Protection Needed For Anti-corruption Fight by TheNewsghost: 6:15pm On Oct 24, 2016
According to Wikipedia, a whistleblower is a person who exposes any kind of information or activity that is deemed illegal, unethical, or not correct within an organization that is either private or public.

Whistleblowing is particularly important in the fight against corruption. Acts of corruption often go unchallenged when people with relevant information do not speak about it. Accounts of witnesses offer invaluable insights into corruption, and are powerful tools in the fight against it.

However in most countries, whistleblowing carries high personal risk because there is little or no legal protection against dismissal, humiliation or even physical abuse. Several controls on information, libel and defamation laws can deter people from speaking out when they have information.

The Kaduna State government under Gov El-Rufai in line with its earlier tradition of holding town hall meetings on budget proposals prior to presenting the draft to the legislature for appropriation has continued the trend this year by subjecting the draft of the 2017 budget estimates to debate at a town hall meeting.

According to the governor, such rich interactions showcases what citizen engagement can achieve.

El-Rufai noted that cogent and coherent recommendations at the last town hall meeting on the 2016 budget led to the insertion of new capital projects that increased the budget by as much as ₦2 billion.
