The founder and advocate of 'Free the Sheep movement' daddy freeze is a prophet sent by God in our time with a message to the house of God. Yes, he might be different from the regular prophets we have around. Who is a prophet in the bible? "Answer:In a general sense, a prophet is a person who speaks God’s truth to others. The English word prophet comes from the Greek word 'prophetes', which can mean “one who speaks forth” or “advocate.” Prophets are also called “seers,” because of their spiritual insight or their ability to “see” the future. Prophets come in all shapes and character in the bible examples; Abraham - wealthy business man Samuel - priest and political ruler David - king and army general Daniel - political ruler John the Baptist - loner, the greatest prophet until his time Jesus - The greatest of all. Both a prophet and the Son of God. Prophets have one thing in common, they are sent with a message and the message theme 'always' lead people back to God. I implore Daddy Freeze to take heed and run the race and finish well. A prophet have the ability to make or mar the destiny of people. Walk and live in a manner that bring glory to God. My one kobo. |
* A local government's poverty-relief programme has urged Christians to swap posters of Jesus for portraits of Chinese President Xi Jinping. * Officials reportedly visited poor Christian families and 600 villagers "voluntarily" removed images of Jesus and many put up pictures of Xi. * Some say the changes were not voluntary and that aid is dependent on the removal of religious symbols, a claim local officials deny. * However, an official did say they are asking religious posters to be removed from houses' living rooms, where people should not forget the "party's kindness." Thousands of Christians in an impoverished county in rural southeast China have swapped their posters of Jesus for portraits of President Xi Jinping as part of a local government poverty-relief programme that seeks to “transform believers in religion into believers in the party”. Located on the edge of Poyang, China’s largest freshwater lake, Yugan county in Jiangxi province is known equally for its poverty and its large Christian community. More than 11 per cent of its 1 million residents live below the country’s official poverty line, while nearly 10 per cent of its population is Christian, according to official data. But as the local government redoubles its efforts to alleviate poverty, many believers have been told to take down the images of Jesus, the crosses and the gospel couplets that form the centerpieces of their homes, and hang portraits of Xi instead – a practice that hearkens back to the era of the personality cult around late chairman Mao Zedong, whose portraits were once ubiquitous in Chinese homes. Under Xi, the ruling Communist Party has made ending poverty by 2020 a top priority. The campaign is not only crucial to the political legacy of the country’s most powerful leader since Mao, but also serves to consolidate the party’s control over the grass roots of society, who despite their vast numbers have been largely neglected in China’s decades-long pursuit of economic growth. In Yugan, the officially atheist party is competing for influence with Christianity, which has spread rapidly in both poor rural villages and prosperous cities since the end of the Cultural Revolution more than 40 years ago. By some estimates, Christians in China now outnumber the 90 million members of the party. http://www.newsscrollngr.com/index.php/art/item/12335-christian-chinese-villagers-told-to-rely-on-communist-party-not-jesus-to-escape-poverty

Japan Railways runs a train for only one passenger for over three years. A high-school girl takes the train from Kami-Shirataki station in the northernmost island of Hokkaido, Japan and the same train drops her back from school. She is the only passenger to travel in the train and Japan Railways has made the decision to run the train only for her. Japan government was planning to shut the station down due to its remote location, until they noticed it being used by a school girl on everyday basis, which is why they kept the train moving until she graduates. Japan Railways even rescheduled the train according to her school timings. The girl is supposedly going to graduate soon, after which the train service will be shut down permanently. People are saluting the Japan government for their step of keeping education as top priority and made a comment of Facebook post, which shows the CCTV footage, 'Why should I not want to die for a country like this when the government is ready to go an extra mile just for me. This is the meaning of good governance penetrating right to the grassroot level. Every citizen matters. No Child left behind!' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-3395828/The-train-company-stops-station-everyday-pick-ONE-passenger-school.html

I'm sharing this because it is thought-provoking. I wish you could forward it to every youth known to you, so they can have a piece of it. And let the sleeping giants rise. "My Dear Nigerian Youths", by Prof. Isa. I am very angry and that is why I am addressing you. You are the source of my anger and I want to vent my spleen- maybe not at you directly- but at the arrogance of your ignorance. You sit in front of a computer and rant all day through social media but with every click, you make money - not for yourself - but for Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook). With every megabyte of data you spend complaining and maligning, you make stupendous bucks for Etisalat, Glo and Airtel. Over the next two years, the number of Nigerian millionaires will jump by 47% but most likely you will not be among because you are too busy whining and complaining. And yet about 60% of Nigeria’s 170m population are below 35 years. Oh, what a waste! By the way, Mark Zuckerberg was 19 when he started Facebook. Africa’s youngest billionaire, Ashish Thakkar, is 31. He escaped from the Rwandan genocide and relocated to Uganda where he started an IT business. Collin Thornton, who made his millions by fixing bad computers and setting up Dial-a-Nerd, is 35. Adam Horowitz, an 18-year-old entrepreneur, started 30 websites in 3 years before he became successful. The only thing you have ever started is an online petition. Have you heard of Jason Njoku? He’s 33 and the founder of Iroko TV. He received $8m investment into his company just a few years ago. What he does? Sharing the same Nollywood films that you spend hours to watch online. He didn’t just hang around waiting for Buhari to make something happen or blaming Jonathan for not making anything happen. Kamal Budhabhatti was deported from Kenya but while on the flight, he thought of the opportunities in Kenya. He found his way back after 6 months and today his company is valued at $30m. He’s 36. Have you heard of Chinedu Echeruo? Apple just paid $1b for his app. He’s a Nigerian like you and all he did was attempt to fix a problem. But for you, the only thing you attempt to fix are your nails- and your hairdo! Chinedu moved to New York in 1995 and found it difficult to navigate the city with ease so he developed HopStop to fix the problem. Stop listing all the problems - we know them already but what are you doing about them? Awolowo was 37, Akintola was 36, Ahmadu Bello was 36, Tafawa Balewa was 34, Okotie-Eboh was 27 and Enahoro was 27 at the time of independence of Nigeria. In 1966, the first coup was led by Kaduna Nzeogwu (29) and stopped by Murtala Mohammed (28), TY Danjuma (28), IBB (25), Sanni Abacha (23) and Shehu Yar'adua (23). It brought in Yakubu Gowon as Head of State at 32 and Olusegun Obasanjo at 29. You are in your 40s and you still sag your trousers. Of course, you know Linda Ikeji. You’ve spent hundreds of hours on her blog laughing and commenting while she smiles her way to the bank. She’s just built a house for her father in the village- just by you clicking on her gossip and sharing. Your day is not complete without a stop by at her blog. She was as broke as you are but she turned a hobby into a business. Are you that void of understanding? You think those politicians have any regard for you? That is why I referred to the arrogance of your ignorance at the beginning of this diatribe. You have a false estimation of yourself. You have an over bloated ego. You are only as good as an election ticket - pure and simple. You are only good to be used and discarded like a used ballot paper. Who keeps a used ballot paper anyway? That is why they only remember you every four years. The word CHANGE belongs to the masses not to selected few, my friend sent this to me & I couldn't resist the urge not to share this Awake the entrepreneural spirit in you, and the time is NOW! Parents share this among our youth. Pls read this article patiently and carefully. |

A senior Egyptian judge hanged himself in custody on Monday a day after his arrest in connection with an investigation into a corruption case, his lawyer said. Wael Shalabi, secretary general of the council of state, an administrative court, was taken in for questioning on Sunday, his lawyer Sayed el-Beheiry told AFP. After questioning him, prosecutors ordered that he be detained for four days pending further investigation, he said. Shalabi’s arrest came days after the Administrative Control Authority responsible for tracking corruption in state institutions arrested the council of state’s chief procurement officer, Gamal el-Labban. The public prosecutor’s office issued a gag order on publishing details of the case shortly after news broke about Shalabi’s death. “He faced a lot of pressure” during interrogation on Sunday when he “denied accusations that were directed at him”, Beheiry said. “He went to the bathroom, attached his scarf to the water-heater and hung himself. http://www.newsscrollngr.com/index.php/k2-foreign-news/item/6718-judge-hangs-himself-amid-corruption-scandal

Traders and street hawkers in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Wednesday resisted attempts by officials of the Ministry of Works to restrain them from displaying their wares along the roads. Having prepared well to make huge gains in the ongoing yuletide, the traders considered the action of the task force a “disturbance,” and an attempt to deny them of their season’s profit. They also engaged in street protests, burn fires, and even vandalizing the office of the Commissioner for Works, Funmi Ogun. http://www.newsscrollngr.com/index.php/k2-home-news/item/6486-angry-ekiti-traders-destroy-government-police-property

People danced in the streets in southern Nigeria on Wednesday, celebrating news that a British court has ordered the release of a former governor convicted of stealing more than $70 million from Nigeria's treasury. James Ibori, governor of oil-rich Delta State from 1999 to 2007, was halfway through serving a 13-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to money-laundering and fraud. British High Court Judge Juliet May on Wednesday ordered his immediate release based on supported allegations that police investigators took bribes and prosecutors covered it up. http://www.newsscrollngr.com/index.php/k2-home-news/item/6490-street-dancing-as-uk-court-orders-ex-gov-ibori-freed

The Federal Government yesterday said staff of some agencies are yet to get November salaries because they had exhausted their budgetary allocations since October. The Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun told State House reporters after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting that the affected agencies had more staff than the budgetary allocation. She said: “Let me explain how the salary system works. All the agencies have an allocated IPPIS which is the salary platform. If for example an agency has a N12bn salary for the year, we insist they continue to pay until that N12bn is exhausted. http://www.newsscrollngr.com/index.php/k2-home-news/item/6491-why-we-owe-workers-salaries-fg
