5 YEARS IN SCHOOL - how you can get high CGPA, make great friends, find love, and make money in school easily

Let me just talk about making friends

When you gain admission into the university, most times you won't be lucky to get into thesame institution as your friends.

I, for example, didn't know a single soul when I gained admission.

This meant, everyone was a stranger, and spoke a funny language.

To survive, I had to master the art of making friends - but I didn't know back then, so I struggled, and often times slept in the common room in hostels (with giant rats attacking me in the night )

Anyway, after some years in school, I began to master this art of making friends, and it's actually quite easy.

The answer is not to try and be more social and talk to more people, the answer is in working on yourself

For instance, when you practice the habit of smiling, you would be surprised just how many people that can attract.

The thing is, people respond to the kind of energy you put out - if you're always grumpy, then everyone would instinctively frawn at you, but if you are cheerful, then everyone would reflect that happiness back at you.

So, my secret formula is:

Rather than being anxious to make friends, try to be more authentic
- go out to the places you love and do the things you like
- and you would begin to notice a particular set of people share thesame interest with you
- Now, all you need to do is wear that smile and be warm to them.

In school, this is not very difficult.

For a start, you share thesame classroom with most of your departmental mates: this means you would constantly be in contact with people.

The best friends are those who meet us where we are, because those are the ones that share the same interest with us.

Your only task is to be warm to the people who come around you.

All you have to do is to show your genuine interest in the person, that is if they interest you.

This means, you have to look out for positive traits in the people around you, and when you find it, point it out to them. Maybe it’s your course mate who has a nice writing, all you have to do is compliment their writing.

Compliment their intelligence, their shirt, shoe, etc. If you personally love wearing a good perfume, then compliment someone who wears a nice perfume. Friendships start when they return the compliment. When they say, “aww!! thanks, you smell nice too. What perfume is that?”

Strong bonds develop with time. It’s all about being pleasant. It’s about being nice. It’s about being friendly. Don’t expect it to happen instantly nor try to force things.

Just be cool, be yourself, and keep doing the things you enjoy doing. when you come across people with similar interests or have a common problem or task, do well to be nice to them. When sharing ideas try respecting the opinion of others, no matter how absurd. Friends are never won by arguments. State your point, if they think it’s worth it, then they will agree, else let them be Focus on becoming a better person. Focus on building good habits, and chasing your dreams.

Embrace self-development, and everything would soon fall in place. “Self-development” is the process of trying to be a better person, by learning and practicing good values and habits, respectively. With constant self-development, you’ll find the right people flocking to be friends with you. You would find people who would pull you up, and support you when need be. Your friends are always a reflection of who you are: If you stay indoors all day, then the people who match your character are also indoors. If you work out in the gym, or play football in the field, then that’s where they are. If you love going to the bar… you get the idea.

So, focus on becoming a better person, and doing cool things (like learning a skill) and you would find like minded people. All that is left is you being kind to them.
