Application Fee
The Chinese universities has some advantage in this regard as most will carry out preliminary evaluation on your application for completeness and competitiveness and sometimes interview before you are asked to pay the application fee. The application fee ranges from 200 to 800 yuan.
Note: 1 Yuan or RMB is roughly 50 Naira.

Scholarship
There are various and different types of scholarships available for international students in China. Some are full funding while others are partial funding. The most popular ones are
1. Chinese Government scholarship
2. Confucius Scholarship usually for language student
3. Provincial Scholarship: offered by various provinces e.g. Beijing Government scholarship, Shanghai Government scholarship, Jilin Government Scholarship and so on.
4. MOFCOM Scholarship by the Ministry of Finance.

The process of application is similar for them and the same document that will be used for admission is usually used.

Note: Scholarship application will be done first before applying to the school since the completed application form will be submitted during school application. However the choice of school must have been made before applying for the scholarship as the name of school and CSC code for the school will be asked during application.

Also for undergraduate program, the CSC scholarship is usually for those that want to study in Chinese i.e. those whose language of instruction is in Chinese. English taught undergraduates can apply for other scholarship(s).

The scholarship application ends for most schools by March or April. The CSC scholarship can be applied for in two ways:
1. Type A- This method is through the Chinese embassy. You will have to go to their embassy as they are the ones that select for this type.

2. Type B-In this case you apply to CSC yourself after you have researched the school you wanted and probably gotten acceptance from your supervisor.

In conclusion on scholarship, you can have multiple application with same email or different ones as you like, but I think it is limited to three (3). That means you can apply to CSC for 3 different schools. But it is not the number of applications made that matters but making your application solid, getting supervisor etc.
Thanks a lot for this thread FA13. It's truly appreciated. Please I have a question concerning the boldened. I hope you can help me out when it's convenient. I saw a school on Campuschina in which the CSC scholarship is available for my interested undergraduate course in English. Could this have been an error or is it really available in just that school for English undergraduate program? Isn't the CSC eligibility uniform across schools in China? I'm really confused. Thanks in anticipation of your reply

It is uniform across China bro.. it’s a must you do Chinese 1 year if your course instruction medium will be Chinese.. how will you be able to cope if you don’t have the basic knowledge of Chinese?.
As I explained to earlier you don’t need to do 1year Chinese again if your admission is English taught.. you will do Chinese throughout your medicine program
Okay. Thanks for the clarification. I truly appreciate your help.

Let me answer your questions bro.

1. The csc scholarship for medicine is available but it is mostly a scholarship whereby you have to study in Chinese medium not in English medium.. so if you get a csc scholarship it’s mandatory you do 1year Chinese course before you start your major.
2.No you don’t need to do 1year Chinese course again before you start your major if your medicine admission is to study in English medium. You start your major directly.meanwhile, you will do Chinese course in your major as you proceed in your course.. the fact some schools requires that you must pass hsk 6 before they can graduate you. So take your Chinese classes seriously while doing your major in English.
2. You can use any or both to get normal admission but if you are applying for csc upload your bsc to your application for better chances to be considered.
4. Use the English proficiency of the highest certificate you will be using at any point in time of your application/admission..

I hope this helps..
Thanks a lot. This more than helps. I'm sincerely grateful. But I would like a little clarification if you don't mind, concerning the language issue.
So, if I understand right, if my medicine admission is in English, I don't need to do one year of Chinese studies but the csc scholarship available for Medicine is just for studying in Chinese so I'd still have to do the one year of Chinese studies right? Is this uniform across all universities? During my research, I saw about two or three schools in which the scholarship was available for Medicine English medium. This was what actually contributed to my confusion. I apologize if my questions are tiring. Thanks once more.

1. I learnt there is no CSC for medicine students, best hope is a provincial scholarship (shanghai, Beijing, etc) which pays yearly.

The remaining questions can be answered if you scrutinize websites of Chinese schools and know their application procedure which could differ for each school.

To everyone here: GOOGLE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. Dedicate time daily, even if an hour or 2 no matter your busy schedule and browse away. Reason why many stay away from this thread is because majority of questions asked are lazy questions people can get themselves.
DON'T USE AGENTS!!
Thanks for your response. And also, I know how to use Google smiley. The truth is that Nairaland is my last bus stop. I've done a lot of research, an hour, a couple of hours is an understatement. I've sent a lot of mails to several universities as well. I brought my questions here because I haven't gotten adequate responses and I would like to have all my facts together in time before application. I trusted that I'll be able to get answers here because there are many that have gone through this and many who will be able to help with their knowledge. I wasn't wrong. Thanks.

3 and 4 I don’t have much answers in it !!

That’s why they said you all should join the WhatsApp group so that you can be getting more update bcuz here in this thread nothing like notifications to notify me that someone have posted anything if not anytime anybody have the strength to check but WhatsApp no how no how you must be online to check and read messages thank you
Thanks a lot for your response. Wow. So, just to clarify, it doesn't matter that I'm opting for the course in English? I still have to do the one year of Chinese studies?

Good evening everyone. Please I have a few questions and I would really appreciate if anyone can help me with valid answers. I apologize for the length of the questions.
1. I would like to apply for the Chinese government scholarship while applying for undergraduate Medicine in English. Is the scholarship available for undergraduate studies? I have a bachelor degree already but I want to study Medicine.
2. Do I have to do one year of Chinese studies before the medicine program begins even though I'll be studying in English?
3. Please for anyone who knows about medicine admission in China, can I apply with a bachelor degree certificate rather than my SSCE? Or should I stick to my SSCE?
3. Should I get a English proficiency certificate from my university or I have to get from my Secondary school?
Thank you all very much.
