Igbo language and Yoruba language used to be one language several thousands years ago but it splitted into two relatively recently. The book even estimated the period of the split (this was several thousands years ago).

By the way, Yorubas and Igbos were not the only people sampled in the book, rather more than 1,800 (see attachment) ethnicities around the world were sampled, including many other ethnicities in Nigeria

There are genetical differences between Igbos and yorubas,like skin tones,bod mass etc,I don’t have to go into all of that,but I am not swayed by some book you call useless “facts” that connotes the opinion of some “writer”..

When I read what he said, I was like Habaaah this can't be true!

Then, I said to myself if this is true, then they'll be Igbo and Yoruba words that sounds same. And I decided to research it.

Lo and behold, I found many Yoruba and Igbo words that not only sound the same but also means the same thing! Examples below.

When we say African leaders should emancipate themselves from the shackles of the west, this is what we're talking about.
