Many have said that there is no insecurity in the East and that it's outsiders that are spreading a false story about insecurity in order to give the East a bad name.

He knows better than you the implications of not telling her before selling the house.no one wants to be on the wrong side of a financial benefactor that’s why many people maintain good relationships with friends that have more even if it’s not genuine and only show their real character when such friend go broke.

There is even a high chance that he wouldn’t have bothered about not telling her if she had gone broke or lost her job as his boss.

Strictly speaking, you don't necessarily have to inform her about the sale, because if she gave it to you freely she expects that you will make the best decisions about the gift, else she will it be borderline controlling.

if she gave you the proper documentation et al, then you should be fine.
