rexbuton: there is a vicious attack on fact based discussion these days on Nigerian fora... we deliberately deceive ourselves just to feed our ego and sentiments.
take it or leave it, the North only need one of SW/SS/SE to win elections. It would be difficult for SS and SE and SW to combine and win the north in an election, except with near total mobilization of voters. the. north knows this and that's why recently they launched house to house child registration. they are planning ahead. Another advantage they have is being contiguous with lesser developed Islamic countries, majority of whose population come to Nigeria for trade and to seek greener pastures , and the borders are relatively porous. in the south on the other hand, Nigerian - Cameroonian relations are not cordial, and the borders are tightly manned. it is tempting to think that our poor relations with them may have been planned after all. Fulani from northern Cameroon enter Nigeria freely, even benefiting from our healthcare system. the Atlantic ocean is another border country, hopefully they could lend us some mer-people for elections.
in summary, the north has an unfair advantage, the Yoruba use diplomacy and the ability to influence public opinion , as tools in compensating for their numerical disadvantage. the east on the other hand loves to play opposition and she is very very poor at playing opposition. The time has come to restrategize and look inwards I like your analysis. |

GrandFinale2017: ok dummy let's go by Regions.. The North makes up 19 states (middlebelt inclusive). The South west makes up 6 states. The South South has 6 states. While the South East has just 5 landlocked states. All the states of SE combined with all the states of SS and Ekiti but still couldn't give GEJ a returning seat. We Igbos don't count in politics, we are only good in commerce and trade. Whenever discussions on politics arises i think we igbos should keep quiet cos we are minorities Bro, I agree with you, as painful as that pill may be to swallow. Politically, Igbos have not been able to summon the fortitude to speak with one voice; their weakness. But like you rightly said, Nigeria's commerce is majorly propelled by them. I was in a town, visiting, ( I won't mention the name) and I noticed everywhere was deserted - markets, streets, etc. My brother, it looked like the end of days...only for me to discover that the Igbos were all at the Stadium celebrating Igbo Day!! For crying out loud these n*gaz control the commerce in most parts of Naija. They must learn to use their strength to their advantage and not struggle in a race where they are ill-favored. They must understand the interdynamics of politics and the economy and take full advantage of it. My 2 cents. |

zinachidi: Na true shaa, but dosen't change the fact that I don't like the man That moment when someone you hate speaks the truth. Bros, this goes to show and prove that the call for secession was actually sponsored by some self-seeking individuals with zero feelings for yearning of the average Igbo man. Obviously no thought was given about the boomerang effect a call for Biafra would have on the chances of Igbos getting full and deserving national leadership. Did they think FG would just hand them their country like that? If they did, every region would join the train na. Smh. |

Mike4S: A synopsis of a story that was submitted and shared in Facebook.
A young girl once vowed that she would never marry a poor man. Changing men was akin to throwing out old shoes and buying a new pair. This continued until she got the right man. The flirtation later blossomed into a permanent relationship. Luckily to her, the young man became more popular than before that people encouraged him to test his political prowess. The clarion call was heeded to as the man tried it and won. The lady who inveigled the young man into marrying her was very happy to be called "first lady". Soon the Governor made an oversea incursion: in order to bring his elder brother, who was involved in illegal migration, home. Just when the Governor was about to come back, their plane "missed". A de facto government that saw his ex officio replacement take over government emerged. The wife was not happy as she was stripped off her position. She did not obey the law of financial dictum and soon she was at the precipice of bankruptcy. Her lifestyle was such that she abhorred dressing like others. She was the originator of most dresses and never put on what has been hackneyed. This, coupled with her wacky hairstyle and excessive makeover that had in many times earned her indecent proposal, were the remote cause of her downfall. In a strange paradox, the beauty she engaged in made her look ugly before causing her to look beautiful. This made her to spend the entirety of many days at home. When she later saw her aesthetic remark to be fair, she started venturing out like others. Soon the beauty faded again and she returned to her ugly self. This, coupled with her inability to pay her bills, caused her to sell her husband's house; which was yet to be willed to her. She was the talk of the day for that singular act. She was publicly vilified by fans and foes. Just as she used to recoil from any man whose pocket got dried, she soon surprised the populace by sharing an invitation card...inviting guests to her wedding with a Korea-based man. No sooner that she shared the card than the new lover arrived. She released a bombastic that startled everyone on hearing that her latest lover has arrived. In order to solicit compliment from the man, she made up herself and headed to the airport. The Korea-based man who had not seen her before did not hide his surprise on seeing a face that did not match his 'taste.' The young woman seeing, the perplex in the new lover's face, tried to hypnotise him but to no avail. The Korea-based man who was angry with her look accused her of faking her beauty. The woman's look was different from the one that moved the Korea-based man in one of the social media (twitter). The man staged a walkout and the young woman, who had used all her feminine wiles to win the man, was helpless. When it dawned on her that what then happened was the finality of her marriage, she released a paroxysm of grief that sounded like that of a wounded animal. This did not fall on a sympathetic ear as the 'run away' lover did not turn back. The young woman agonised it throughout her life as there was no more marital prospect for her. The missing husband later returned from Europe and did not marry the gold digger again.
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION? Lol. Are you Hon. Patrick's brother? Easy on the big words biko. If you're looking for honest reviews (for this contest purpose) maybe you should show your work to friends and family first, then to an expert outside this forum. When you're not in a contest with people here, then nairaland is good place to ask for reviews. My 2 cents oh. 1 Like |

liznificent: Perhaps it’s kinder to live with no knowledge And be content in the cage Than to know it all And not pour it all
It would be harsh to have it bustling And neglect it without hustling. More harsher to grow comfortable in the blankets of doubts And ignore that tug at heart. More harhser to ONLY TRY to get it out all right When all it actually needed was a big fight
It would be tragic if this gift of greatness turn burden And I live each day burdened Weigh down, mightily handicapped by the harsh reality Unable to cast it all off my shoulders From me, greatness evaporating uncontrollably Till the day I finally fall.
Please don’t let me die With this great gift of thy Please don’t let me die; an unfulfilled dream Washed away from the shore of this realm Don’t let me die, the same as I came Rather let me depart with gain
It would surely be kinder to go back exhausted; all out and empty Than back, a luggage full of untapped greatness; futility Much kinder that eyes should close and blood stiffen with light of fulfillment at heart And smile on lips for dues duly paid And lines of square neatly met
So let me rather be a burnt offering; Redemption to the world suffering Smile, joy and pleasure to hearts Fulfillment and inspiration to generations unborn The torch bearer of darken souls Rose to bring light to the farthest poles
Please don’t let me die, a victim of time Whose great flight is on high Please don’t let me die, a casualty Cut down in the war between dreams and reality Don’t let me die, the same as I came Rather let me depart with gain I love it...i just kinda got sucked in to it 2 Likes |

Sitting down with some of my people Somewhere in the busy streets After work, I see the people To home they trudge, they retreat
Their faces covered with sweat and grime The places from where they've spent time Only to make a naira and a kobo Some have to become like the hobo
Make way for the man Make way for the man! Lest he bump and strike you With his headpan
He sights from afar his abode He can't even smile enough Sufficient for the day, I was told Is the burden and evil thereof
