Susom:Congratulations !! |
walton1:This is awesome, if you don't mind we can exchange contacts. |
noscarn91:Wow, the information right here is golden. I think you meant 350 a month for the accomodation, i was planning on getting a campus acomodation but everyone i know have advised against that saying it would be too expensive so i think i would just go for this. I would definitely carry out my research on the temp jobs and places you listed. Thank you very much and i hope you wouldn't mind if i contact you later on in the event i need your advice on somethings. |
Joycers:No i did not receive any mail like that. Yes it is my first time applying . |

Hi everyone, I just got back from the Ikeja vac and i am happy to tell you all that i was granted . I will give a detailed outline of my application process as soon as possible. |
cumulus:If you may What exactly do you mean by "escalation". This is in reference to your timeline wherein August 4th indicated "escalation". Thank you. |
cumulus:Congratulations !!! |
Question1:Just click on the link below and follow the instructions after. https://contact-ukvi.homeoffice.gov.uk/app/visa_application/checkvisastatus That is the link above . On the page there is a box for imputing your reference number after imputing that, then you click on "check application status". The reference number to be used will most likely start with GWF, if your application has been decided the page will show a "decision made" message, if not, the message will be "reference number has not been recognised". Good luck to everyone still waiting for a decision. |

Hi Everyone, Following @cumulus announcement i have been tracking my application process (practically every five minutes) using the ukvi provided portal and to my surprise, the last time i checked my status had changed to DECIDED. I am now waiting for the notification mail from tls contact and i am nervous as hell concerning the actual decision. The ukvi site works, just keep on checking using your application number (GWF). |
cumulus:Wow!! Congratulations. Everyone, i think this a good sign, that means we would start receiving "decision mails" Once again congratulations. |
danielloso19:No, i haven't heard anything nor have i been contacted by ukvi. Concerning lectures starting before the visa is granted i really don't know how to go about that because different schools have varying levels of "grace" that can be granted in situations like this. In extreme situations the admission might just have to be deferred, however, we hope it wouldn't get to that. You should keep your school in the loop and constantly update them about the situation of things. I too had my interview since the 10th of July yet i have heard nothing. In the end we can only wait as we are at the mercy of the UK Government. |
danielloso19:Oh, if your course doesn't start till September then there is no cause for alarm. Let's just all remain optimistic and hope for the best before the week runs out. |
danielloso19:I doubt if it is a bad sign, however at this stage the best course of action you can take is to request for a two weeks (or more) extension from your school explaining how you might not be able to meet up with the actual resumption date due to circumstances beyond your control (you should explain in detail how ukvi has been stalling in its decision process). This will give you ample time to prepare yourself , because as it is right now 20th is less than six days away. You should also be optimistic, you might just get a decision before the 20th. What i can't just fathom is why it is taking so long. No need to fret, it's a nationwide issue that we are all hoping would be resolved soon. All the best. |

I doubt if it has anything to do with the centre of submission, the lady you are talking about is probably an exception to the issue at hand. I met a guy who applied at the vi "vac" on the 7th of july and till this very moment he has heard nothing from ukvi. |
Ebwese345678:I would reiterate, i did put a call through to ukvi. On another note when did you apply ?? |
Ebwese345678:Yes, i am for tier 4 (point based system ) , post graduate studies. |
Hi Everyone, I stumbled on this page while i was seeking answers on why it is taking so long for a decision to be made on my student visa apllication to the UK, and i must say, you guys have done amazing things on this forum. To the crux of the matter. I applied for a visa on the 6th of july after which i paid the necessary fees and my appointment was slated for the 10th of july at the ikeja vac (Etiebets place or thereabout). On the 10th of july I was interviewed and the necessary documents were submitted. On the 11th of july i got a confirmation mail from (tls contact) indicating that my application has been received . On the 19th of july i got a mail from "sheffield" that my application has been received for decision making. Following the timeline set above, i understand that decisions are made withing 15 working days for standard visa applications and in my own case it has been close to 30 days (non working days inclusive ) and yet i have not gotten any form of reply/message, either from "tls, sheffield Or ukvi. Since the lapse of the expected 15 working days i have been worried sick . I have tried contacting the responsible parties by placing a call through, but there has been no conclusive reply, i have also tried to track the process using both the tls portal and the new (trial) ukvi checking system but all to no avail. I just want to know if this is normal or is there any other person in a similar postion. Thank you. |
