NEW YORK – Rapper Nicki Minaj was mourning the death of her cousin who was fatally shot over the July Fourth weekend as police in New York hunted for his killer Tuesday, TMZ reported.
Law enforcement sources said Nicholas Telemaque, 27, died after suffering from "multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso" early Monday in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Shortly after Lady Gaga‘s appearance as a guest mentor and performer on American Idol, Mother Monster is taking her talents elsewhere on the Fox reality-competition circuit. Now, Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe has confirmed that Gaga will be making an appearance on that other show he executive produces, So You Think You Can Dance. Rather than a mere performer or mentor this time around, though, Gaga will be serving as a guest judge, helping determine the fates of the poor kids dancing for $250,000 and the title of “America’s Favorite Dancer.” Lythgoe cited Gaga’s performance expertise as a reason she was being brought on the show. “We can discuss technique for days on end,” Lythgoe said. “But really, the public want to get, and coerce these contestants, to make sure that they know how to perform.”

As the first female headliner in the festival’s history, B more than delivered with her 90-minute set, covering Alanis Morissette, Prince and Kings of Leon, digging up old Destiny’s Child tracks and previewing new songs off 4. She talked about her historic performance with the BBC after the show, while sporting wellies—a festival staple given the notoriously muddy conditions—and managing to make the bulky footwear look fashionable all the same. (The network even made “Crazy In Mud” souvenir buttons.) B revealed that she worked on preparations for two months leading up to the festival and sought advice and suggestions from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and husband Jay-Z. “I don’t know if I would have been asked to come if he didn’t do the performance,” she said of Jay’s headlining show at Glastonbury in 2008. She’s being modest. How could one of the world’s largest music festivals overlook one of the world’s biggest stars?

If interview etiquette isn’t at play here, a comment like this also calls to mind the overwhelming amount of time the typically private B spends professing her love on her new album. With the exception of “Best I Never Had” and “Run The World (Girls),” 4 is loaded with songs about commitment and dedication (to the point of references about being “up in the kitchen” for her man). She was by no means a man-hater over her last discs, but definitely a promoter of self-love above anything else. Do her songs resonate less (or seem more boring) now that you know she’s in a stable and positive relationship? Has she lost her fierceness? Maybe it’s just a sign of growing up and evolving, but still, we feel fairly certain that Sasha Fierce would never not take credit for the undeniable awesomeness we witnessed last night. video below:

What’s the most obvious treatment for a sugary love song by Justin Bieber and Chris Brown? This is 2011-the apocalypse! Not one of those knockoff versions with a lot of dingy streets standing in for wreckage, either. The action-movie version, with lots of explosions, and people with impeccably styled hair running around chasing buses and someone getting hit by a fleeing car.

So how best to approach the world ending? If Lady Gaga is her hair, when she goes bald, does that mean she ceases to be? Apparently Gaga isn’t one for such metaphysical debates, as she performed Born This Way‘s “Hair’ sans cheveux as a piano-led torch ballad during a live stop at the Paul O’Grady Show in the UK. During the song’s famous lyric of self-identification, Gaga ran her hand over her bald scalp and paused dramatically, and about half way through, she stopped to grab an aqua-colored wig from a stand on her piano, finishing the song with it on. There’s some sort of message being conveyed here, and as soon as we figure out what it is, we’ll be sure to let you know what it is.

Oh, and also, the stage was on fire. When you’re talking about a live performance and “stage on fire” isn’t the lead, chances are it’s probably a Lady Gaga gig. video below:

VIP (Vision In Progress) is a Ghanaian Hiplife group, made up of Promzy, Prodigal and Lazzy, and they will be Amplifying the Big Brother Stage during the Sunday Eviction Show.

The trio hails from the Nima suburb of Accra and they have a signature tune of a growling dog in their songs.

Confidence Haugen, one of Ghana’s representatives in the Big Brother Amplified house will be returning to Ghana today at 5pm from South Africa after a grueling two days of continental interviews. In an interview on an Accra-based radio station the day after her eviction, Confidence said “I just want to come home. I miss Ghana”.

DUISBURG, Germany – Two young hackers were convicted Thursday of stealing new songs from stars such as Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey and offering them for sale on the Internet.

A court in the western German city of Duisburg found the defendants, aged 18 and 23, guilty of dozens of counts of violating copyrights and hacking confidential data, a spokesman said. Their names were not released.

The teenager was handed an 18-month sentence at a young offenders' institute while the older defendant received an 18-month suspended sentence.

The two used Trojan horse software to gain access to the computers and email accounts of the managers of high-profile artists, took unpublished songs and offered them for sale or download in 2009 and 2010.

The new material came from top-selling stars including Carey, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Leona Lewis and Ke$ha. Prosecutors say the two earned more than €15,000 ($21,000) with the scheme.

In addition, the 18-year-old downloaded explicit private photos from Ke$ha's computer and blackmailed her to give him an audio "shout out" which he could use to boost his own status in the hacker scene.

"The court considered the fact that both defendants are attested to be highly addicted to the Internet to be a mitigating factor," the spokesman said, adding that full confessions given to the court had also counted in their favor.

Defense attorneys asked the court to call the affected artists as witnesses but the judges rejected the bid.

The 18 year old, identified in the German press only as Deniz A., had sent a letter of apology to Lady Gaga in December that was published in the daily Bild.

"Dear Lady Gaga," Deniz A., who reportedly called himself DJ Stolen, wrote.

"I am ashamed of what I have done. I did not think about the consequences."

The court said it would review his detention within six months and consider converting it to a suspended sentence.

Beyoncé will indeed move forward with plans to release 4 at its regularly scheduled time. Last week’s full album leak, and the subsequent mixed fan reactions and disappointment from B herself, led to rumors that Columbia Records executives were nervous about the disc’s commercial appeal. With no signs of stopping from Adele and Lady Gaga, as well as a continuous push from upcoming releases like former Destiny’s Child group member Kelly Rowland, would Beyoncé actually have a flop on her hands this summer? While Sony (Columbia’s parent company) has released no official statement on the matter, B’s camp has since confirmed the preexisting release date, squashing any rumors of the contrary. “Beyoncé’s album, 4, will be released on June 28,” her reps exclusively told VH1 this morning.

A little less than two weeks away, we’ll have to wait and see if anything did change since 4‘s June 7th leak. Maybe you’re stronger than we are, but we couldn’t resist taking a crack at reviewing the early version. (Saying no would be like passing up dessert at a Dairy Queen. We are powerless.) NEW YORK (KTLA) -- A Brooklyn inmate has confessed to shooting rap star Tupac Shakur.

Dexter Isaac, an associate of Rap Mogul James "Jimmy Henchman" Richmond, claims he shot Tupac at Quad Studios in Manhattan 17 years ago.

According to a statement he gave to AllHipHop.com, Isaac says he was paid $2,500 by Richmond to shoot the West Coast rap icon.

Lady Gaga’s “The Edge of Glory” will premiere Thursday night during Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance at 8 p.m. EST, Mother Monster confirmed today. Selena Gomez and the Scene’s third album When The Sun Goes Down will be released June 28, Hollywood Records announced via press release. For those who have been paying attention, that’s the same day Beyoncé’s album 4 hits stores. (Ring the alarm, there’s a rumble a brewin’!) But does this spell immediate disaster for Justin Bieber’s girlfriend? Heck no. Gomez is confident enough to compete with Queen B herself, and “who says” she won’t come out on top? (Their release dates will be after the impending apocalypse—anything’s possible.) Gomez will also pull a Lady Gaga and release tracks from the album in piecemeal via the iTunes Countdown program, beginning with “Bang Bang Bang” on June 7, “Dices” June 14 and “Love You Like A Love Song” on June 21.

While we’ll have to wait about a month to see who wins the battle of album releases, why not judge each lady on her newly revealed cover art? Gomez goes the flapper route for the When The Sun Goes Down‘s cover, while Beyoncé plays up her sex appeal with an opened fur jacket and little else, reminiscent of the pantsless look she sports in her new video for “Run The World (Girls).” (They both have that staring-sexily-off-into-space look down.) Feeling better after her brief hospitalization last Thursday, Jennifer Hudson took the stage in New York City on Tuesday, June 14 for the taping of CBS' "The Early Show". Wearing a white sleeveless top, black mini skirt and red heels, the former contestant of "American Idol" delivered a strong and steady performance at the gig.

In addition to the "Early" concert, J-Hud dropped by Ed Sullivan Theater for a performance on "Late Show with David Letterman". Ifeanyi Michael a.k.a IFAN is a singer-songwriter and instrumentalist who hails from Anambra State, in the South-Eastern area of Nigeria. His aptitude for being an entertainer began at an early age, when he shuffled between the different facets of entertainment – Acting, Dancing, before finally settling on music. Jennifer Hudson was rushed to a New York hospital Friday morning due to food poisoning, TMZ reported.

The Grammy and Oscar winner was scheduled to appear on both ABC's "Good Morning America" and CBS' "Early Show" in order to promote her new album, "I Remember Me."

In between performances, the 29-year-old singer complained of "abdominal pain" and became "unable to perform," her rep told the Pop Eater entertainment blog.

Lady Gaga is political, Britney Spears loves to party, and Beyoncé — well, she knows all about matters of the heart. Her latest album, 4, which drops June 28, is a girl-power-filled ode to the power of love: its highs, lows and all the sublime moments in between.

If you didn't listen to the full album when it leaked on Tuesday and have only heard singles "Run the World (Girls)," "1+1" and "Best Thing I Never Had," you're only getting part of the picture. There are some really surprising moments on the album that her singles only touch on.

4 is all about throwback jams, in the vein of R&B power girls like Mary J. Blige and SWV, with a little Mariah Carey thrown in for good measure. With fewer dance-floor fillers and more swirling ballads, Beyoncé's voice is the true star of the album, as evidenced on "I Care," a power ballad that recalls slow jams like the ones Phil Collins used to spill his heart on. B's voice is huge and owns the song as the instrumentals swirl and crescendo around her.

"Party," which features Andre 3000, is a, well, party jam at its very core. For anyone who attended a house party in the mid-'90s, this would have been the song to get the bash started. As Beyoncé sings, "So in love/ I'll give it all away/ Just don't tell nobody tomorrow," you'll be transported to a time when pop princesses cared more about the heart than the synth.

She kicks it even more old-school on "Rather Die Young," harking back to '70s soul. The song is about how you can't fight what the heart wants, even if it isn't right. Likening her lover to James Dean, it's all about the sexiness of bad boys and the good girls who love them, but instead of going hard, she keeps the music soft.

Perhaps the most surprising song on the album is "Countdown." Full of video-game bleeps and B doing her best Sasha Fierce (we thought she retired her!), the singer gets sassy and futuristic on the track. While it's not like the other songs on the album, it does have a "Check on It" vibe.

Beyoncé gives fans a musical kick to the head during "End of Time," a bombastic track, complete with in-your-face bass line and a marching band. B keeps things melodic, sharing lines like, "Take you away from here/ There's nothing between us but space and time."
