The much expected debate on 2016 budget suffers setback on Tuesday as the Senate has adjourned midway into plenary due to the death of Baba Onwana, member representing Nasarawa/Toto federal constituency in the House of Representatives on Thursday last week. Budget debate which was listed as item 3 on the Order Paper was laid by the Chairman, joint Committee on Appropriations, Senator Danjuma Goje before the formal announcement of the demise of Hon. Onwana by the Senate Leader, Ali Ndume. Goje on his part expressed firm belief that the 2016 budget would serve Nigerians while urging Senators to consider it in the interest of Nigerians. “Mr. Senate President, Distinguished Colleagues, in accordance with the procedure of the Senate, the Senate do receive the Report of the Committee on Appropriations on the 2016 Appropriation Bill”, Goje noted. But while the debate was about to start, the death of Baba Onwana, was announced, leading the adjournment of plenary. Details shortly… http://dailypost.ng/2016/03/22/debate-on-2016-budget-suffers-setback/?utm_source=dlvr.it_dp1&utm_medium=facebook |

Message to the Youth: By Senator Ben Bruce (Mr Commonsense) Youths of Nigeria, I want to communicate with you today. I noticed that there are too many divisions amongst our youths and as a stakeholder in Nigeria and parent of Nigerian children, I believe I ought to intervene. Youths, do not make the mistakes my generation made. Do not see yourselves through tribal and religious lens. My generation of Nigerians did that and look where it has led us. You must do better. It is foolish for any youth to fight another youth over APC or PDP. Let me ask you, what is the difference between the APC and the PDP? Half of the members of the APC are former PDP members and vice versa. Let me ask you youths a question: Do the APC and the PDP fight over you as you fight over them? How many ministers have they given you? How many ambassadors have they given you? How many heads of parastatals have they given you? That's right, the answer is ZERO! So resist the desire of vested interests to control you and use you to fight other youths on social media and in real life. What youths do not realize is that you are victims of divide and conquer. You make up 60% of the population yet account for 0% of the federal cabinet! Your price should be more than a plate of rice and a handshake. Work together not against each other! Come on Nigerian youths, be smart! If you think after you have been used to fight each other these vested interests will hand power to you, think again. Their kids who are abroad will do same to your kids! It is time to end the hate and come together for Nigeria's good. Long after we are gone, you will be around. So learn to get along. As I have said and I will keep saying, the youths are the leaders of today if only they will resist being used by vested interests. How old is Trudeau, the Canadian PM. He was 43 when he became PM. You can be much more than a thug or Twitter overlord. You can be like Trudeau's. My name is Ben Murray Bruce and I not only want to make commonsense, I also believe in the Nigerian youth. cc. passingshot, tonyebarcanista, omenka, aminat508, cramjons |
They have government in their grip, held onto
power since independence,built more universities
in their region yet have millions of illiterates, have
produced more Army Generals than the rest yet
cannot rid their region of untrained boko haram
that never went to Jaji and NDA.
Have billionaires and the richest people that
stole billions ,yet they have their young ones
,their aged on every bustops, entrance of
mosques and traffic lights begging for alms.
They have more ministers of health, they had all
the UNICEF,UNESCO,UN,USAID all the foreign
intervention agencies in their region yet they are
ravaged by polio ,blindness and all kinds of
diseases. Their education is free for them but
their children run away from education but prefer
to beg on the street and do menial jobs like
pushing water in trucks,repairing shoes,local
manicure etc.
Their leaders have brainwashed them and made
them poorer out of all they have. But they will
blame PDP and GEJ.
Now we have a new ruler ,I hope he will
transform the region into Dubai... With all the
billions they have voted for rebuilding of North .
Northern youth open your eyes and ask your
leaders why are they punishing you and selling
stories to you instead of developing the North
and the mentality of the North.
Biafra is not your problem, igbos are not your
problems .the problems are your religious leaders
and your political leaders who prefer that you
remain tools of violence in their hands rather
than be liberated. At the snap of their fingers or
release of a religious lie you hit the streets with
daggers and cutlasses to kill. But soon the story
will change ,the creation will turn against their
creators.
I beg you to use the Billions mapped out for
feeding cows with imported grass to educate the
North and feed your hungry ones, who will never
taste imported corned beef but rather you will
feed your cattle with imported corned grass. |
