HIstory of Excess Crude Account ECA Obasanjo left $20 billion Rotimi Amaechi, Babatunde Fashola led by Bukola Saraki in 2008 instituted a lawsuit against the Yar'adua government calling for the sharing of the $15billion ECA. Yar'adua in 2009 opted for out of court settlement. By end of 2009 it had dropped from $15billion to $6.5billion. Okonjo Iweala was not finance minister. Money was disbursed by Accountant General Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo. YarAdua Left $6.5 billion = Jonathan Inherited $6.5billion ECA Governors insisted that the $6.5 billion ECA be shared. In January 2010, Jonathan acceded to the governors' and shared $2 billion from the ECA. Despite the almost $4billion shared between January and May 2010, the Governors led by Bukola Saraki demanded that the left over $3billion ECA be shared. In August 2010 the FG under Jonathan bugged and withdrew the $3billion from the Excess Crude Account, leaving behind a meagre $460 million. Ngozi Iweala Era 2011 - 2015 Under Okonjo Iwaela as the Finance Minister the government started having renewed battle with the governors led by Chibuike Amaechi. In October 2011 Babtunde Fashola set up a team of SAN, threatened and demanded that the $1billion saved in Sovereign Wealth Fund be shared along with the billions in ECA. Jonathan proposed out of court settlement. Despite the out of court settlement, the Governors were so determined to share the money, instituted another lawsuit again two months later asking the Supreme Court to stop the FG from saving $2billion in SWF but instead "share the money”. Between 2011 to 2014 federal government took N3.29 trillion while the 36 states received a total of N2.92 trillion. They received N966.6 billion in 2011, N816.3 billion in 2012, N859.4 billion in 2013 and N282.8 in 2014. Government Grew ECA From $450m in 2010 to $9billion in 2015 As at August 2010, the ECA stood at meagre $450million. However, the NOI/GEJ increased this money to $9billion at the end of 2015. Now here are the key players. Rotimi Amaechi (APC/South South) is your Minister of Transport. Babatunde Fashola (APC/South West) is your Minister of Power, Works and Housing Busola Saraki (APC/Middle Belt) is your Senate President. Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo (PDP/North East) is Governor of Gombe State. Wake up from party and regional affiliation, Join the revolution. China plans to scam Nigeria

I'm not a finance expert. Just got this. How true is it?

Some Nigerians are jubilating over $2b loan from China and the so called Yuan trading deal. - Akani Balogun

China wants to lend us 2 billion dollars, but they want to give us in Yuan and not the dollar itself.

They are not handling us cash, but service exchange; meaning if we want to buy iron rod, we buy it from Chinese company and they pay the company on our behalf. If we want to construct railway, they will construct it for us and take the money out of the loan. In the end, we are bound to award contracts to them, cutting out competition from others and fairplay to others(non Chinese company can't bid or compete to reduce the cost.) They get to value the contract and determine the price, meaning they can sell something worth 200 Naira for N2000 and we don't have a choice 'cos it is on credit.

The worst of it is that China want us to pay back in dollars, that is not all, we are moving our foreign reserve to fake currency(Yuan) a currency that is manipulated openly by the Chinese government. Did anyone ask Lamido Sanusi what happened to some of our reserve he moved to Yuan few years ago? They sold us Yuan at 4 to a dollar, only to devalue their currency few weeks latter to 9 Yuan per $.

Many Nigerians don't know that even Chinese company don't want yuan, nobody want it, Chinese foreign reserve is in dollars, China is the largest holder of US bond, they want dollars by all means.

Also, China have more lobbyists in Washington DC than any other nations on earth, begging Washington politicians to always make policy in their favour, how can such country save us from USD?

Has anyone asked why China hasn't built any refinery in Nigeria?? They have the money, they want the profit, but never did it.

If China does anything against Washington interest in Nigeria, USA have too much political power over China, they will just tell them not to do it. China will continue to inflate the contract price, refuse to complete the project and deceive us further.

I don't blame Chinese leaders for trying to scam us, I blame our leaders for not being smart enough. What do you expect when you have political hacks negotiating on behalf of Nigeria against smart professionals from China. I was thinking Nigeria political leaders will do research about Chinese lobbyists in Washington and understand the interest they are protecting before believing in Chinese version of Trojan horse.

We are the only one that can help ourselves, let's implement true federalism system and free market. Development is a culture and not a product, we can't buy it no matter how much money we have or borrow.

fraud and nothing else, that Dieziani is not named
in Panama papers. Okay na!!! Okay.
We are waiting for Buhari's Dubai Papers to see
their names as even London papers do not have
Goodluck and Okonjo-Iwealla's names and even
Dieziani, one year later we are awaiting charges.
So again, we await the release of Dubai papers
and American Papers that Oshiomole said named
past corrupt government officials.
