You make a very valid point.

I hope a system is put in place to ensure for every fx given for this purpose, the exact quantity of product is brought into the Nigerian market.

Against the backdrop of this hope lies the gnawing monster called CORRUPTION, which brings is right back to the number one problem of this country! embarassed

And he can only do his own bit when it appears easier to blame Buhari.

And why do you people imagine Nairaland is the only place these issues are discussed?

I'm really confused o.

And if I don't say what you people like to hear, does it give you indigestion?

You people keep saying what you don't know. The incidents have been rampant EVEN BEFORE Buhari but the reason it seems worse now is because of social media penetration and politics of religion and ethnicity!

The worst of this on record we've ever experienced happened under Good luck Jonathan! Makurdi was nearly overwhelmed with displaced persons and individuals like myself even took a couple of strangers in as a way to show empathy and solidarity.

When Suswam at some point went to visit some of the scenes of the incident, remnants of the attackers even shot at his convoy and they had to turn back!

That was when the infamous Gana militant group was born!

These happened under Jonathan.

You people should ask questions if you aren't well informed about issues rather than making all these "politically correct" remarks.

PoliticsRe: Fuel Price: Oil Marketers Backpedal, Begs FG For Tax Holidays by tigerclaws: 9:52am On Jan 04, 2018
[s]
omenkaLives:
As a matter of fact, giving them tax holiday is better IMO.

Tax holiday means the government isn't paying claims into one's account as is normally the case. You show your bill of laden, the government works out how much import duty you are to pay and then reduce that duty by a certain percentage agreed upon by both parties.

If the businesses owned by the importers are the subject under consideration and not the products being imported, those businesses are given certain tax cuts that would be the equivalent of the subsidy that would have been paid their owners upon importation of petroleum products.

An interesting example of this mechanism is the agreement between Dangote and the FG on some roads in Lagos and Kogi states. He builds the roads in exchange for tax cuts which would amount to the tax he would have paid the government were he not the one constructing the roads.

In addition, I feel by this way, corruption in subsidy administration would be reduced to some extent. Uhuru would mean a total abolition of the subsidy regime.

Some of you kids simply imagine Nairaland is the only place that exists online.

Ever heard of twitter? Ever heard of facebook?

There are certain elements on this forum I'd please only over my dead body and I strongly suspect you're from that stock of elements.

So, young man, if my comments and opinion hurt you and your likes so badly, you might as well help yourselves by not reading them.

Tell your useless demigod FFK we don't need his sympathies. The lives of benue people aren't meant for his political games.

The question I asked isn't out of place. Why didn't he condemn the massacre in Rivers state?
