Was anyone here chosen for China of which China wasn't his/her first choice?

I already said this with certainty long before that the strategic partnership is a free tuition scholarship and PTDF will just spend only living allowances, therefore, saving costs.

PTDF will still need the strategic partners to accept the people who they recommend. So just because u received a mail as regards Germany doesn't mean u should start celebrating. If u don't meet what the partners require, u will be removed.

The UK Scholarship is controlled solely by PTDF.

No one is refuting the fact that you said strategic partnership PTDF entered are with free tuition schools.

But let me bring to your notice that not all the schools under the F/G/C scheme are tuition free. An example is IFP france. you can check that out.

But for Germany... its university are tuition free schools under the DAAD scholarship and for China, you get sponsored by CSC.

Should you know anything about france, I would love to hear it from you. I respect your kind assistance here and may God continually bless you

PTDF had contacted some guys recommended for Germany because they were asked to register on daad which is the Exchange students portal to Germany.
Waiting for China and France nominees. The reason why the Germany candidates were contacted now is for them to register on daad, for the china, PTDF recommends candidates to China Scholarship Committee CSC to be reviewed by CSC.

This is useful info from one of the chinese universities PTDF listed on F/G/C application portal.

Approval and Notification

a. Recommended application documents from dispatching authorities will be reviewed by CSC. The applications will be regarded as invalid if the application documents fail to meet the requirements or the applicants are ineligible.

b. Qualified applications will be forwarded directly to .....china university.....for recruitment. CSC reserves the right to make necessary adjustments on the university options, specialties, program categories and duration of study.

c. Scholarship applicants accepted by Chinese universities will be officially awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship with the approval from CSC. Each applicant can only be granted one scholarship program.

e. CSC will send, before July 31st, the List of Scholarship Winners, Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) to the Chinese Embassy (Consulate General), who will forward the documents to the dispatching authorities for overseas study or the scholarship winners.

f. Students are not permitted, in general, to apply to change their specialties, host universities or the duration of study as specified in the Admission Letter once they agree to accept the scholarship.

g. If applicants fail to register before the deadline for registration, their scholarship will not be reserved.

very sure. so u never checked the F/G/C university u applied to . Its just bilateral sponsporing. Those sholarships are there in F/G/C but you need a government agency like PTDF to recommend you to them. In fact most Nigerian research institutes are not exploring the opportunities, may not to loose their staff but some do it , like NAEC etc. many of the guys are outside there. PTDF just incorporate that to expand their responsibility to candidates who can not meet the UK ones which is very competitive and full-funnded by PTDF.

with/without PTDF for example, You can secure admission to IFP in France..... But the only clause is that you need to be sponsored by an organization (i.e. taking IFP france as a case study). Prior to this year, many had be getting admission into all this schools be it in france, china and Germany.... but the point was sponsorship to go study there.

Don't mislead yourself. No one can say that SOP us not important. I can recall that on interview day, interviewers were recording our performances and sending directly to the PTDF HQ.

Once you are certain that you have chosen your centre, Click the submit button.

Then go and check your profile summary page as if you want to reprint your application slip, it should certainly be reflected there

Though I was confused about the interview panel to choose. I'm going for

Environmental Monitoring,
Environmental change and
Environmental Engineering

in different universities though. And the panels I'm to choose from are

Engineering,
Environmental Science,
Environmental and Management.

I had to choose Environmental and Management.

That is the closet panel related to your field i think you can chose. To me, you have made a good pick. Just prepare and make sure you have your research proposal, masters thesis and every other necessary docs with you.

Truth is: Shortlisting has been done. Hence those that got the mail are shortlisted and are asked to chose their preferred centre for interview.

I noticed something.

If you also log in with the France/germ/China pin, it will open and ask you to choose a centre. I thought it was the final application profile that was supposed to show

I was earlier having similar problem of logging in, but have finally succeeded in logging in to choose my centre.

Please, when you selected ur preferred centre, were you logged out automatically after you clicked summit? And how can you confirm your selection??

Yes. I was sent a mail and I have selected a centre. My PIN is also contained in the mail sent to me.

Ellacity... There was nothing wrong with the question the guy asked. That was a good observation from him. The program language for some of the IFP course is French and PTDF said from their writeup that the programs are English-taught. @mfarad was right with the question. Hence the reason he asked.
