Typical revisionism. Nigerians, by saying Nigerians I mean the representatives of the old regional sub groups demanded and were granted independence and ability to freely form political alliance. The ibos, in their quest to dominate, lord, and control everyone thought northern region is the weakest link due to the obvious reasons that they are behind other regions in progressive index decided to form political union with northern region. The ibos refused to aligned with other southern subgroup, in particular the south western region because by their own admission, the southern subgroup are too sophisticated to be controlled, subjugated and relegated into the political back seat to a driverless political vehicle they designed to make them above and superior to everyone.

When they aren't achieving the set objectives of consolidating power, they went on rampage, greed-fuelled adventures of killing every other political leader bar their own under the cover of eliminating corruption. At that instance, they cancelled the healthy regional governance enjoyed by everyone and ushered in unitary system of governance. The chain of events led to the civil war and subsequent successful military take overs and the distrust among Nigerians.

The ibos, borne out of greed and insatiable lust for power destroyed the solid political foundation the British empire handed over to us.
