happney65: The average rich people do not want to see poor people or those that live in the lower class..They don't even want to help them one bit by giving them wage raise..They believe it is about them alone and others can go to hell. They so much hate and dislike artisans and others.. They believe if you are not rich, you do not deserve to live which is wrong..Give these people living wage, everyone is happy,You and I It is the language of the oppressor Its just like those people that travel abroad, then keep telling you tales of how things are very hard abroad, yet they buy cars every year and send home, they have properties everywhere in a short time period. The only reason they keep lying is so that whenever they need you for a ridiculous errand you would be there, or when the come home, you can be there driver/errand boy or something. Fine i am not saying money is easy too make, but when comfortable people get mad, about poor people trying to be comfortable too. Then seems those comfortable people need to be killed. |

DapKing: So increase in minimum wage is funded how? Does minimum wage decrease national debt?
National debt will keep on increasing as long as we use Fiat currencies and engage in deficit spending Stop saying what you don't know please Just stop In fact I am tired of explaining over an over to someone that is so oblivious to facts |

Who pays for it?
Biden or the citizens themselves
I always knew you were a dummy Minimum wage, national debt how do they correlate? The tax cut trump gave that increased the national debt by 2 trillion Who is going to pay for it? |

happney65: Exactly.A living wage is what is being asked for..In these times,A $15 wage is perfect for an average American..When the minimum wage was increased in Nigeria,I know so many families that were able to afford most things they could not afford before..It is simple mathematics, when you earn more, the money goes back to the Economy to the same economy that gave you and it keeps on rotating and everyone is happy..Happier people,Happier families
It is those so called people who hate the middle class and poor people that will be against it..It is simple as ABC I keep asking myself if the GOP is actually the party if the working class, like they claim. |

Ibime: $15 minimum wage is too much
$12-13 should do it. According to inflation, it should be around $25 Biden proposing $15, I don't think it's a one-time thing I think it's a gradual increase. Look up how minimum wage moved I believe it would most like move now too I think $9-10 in coming years it should get to $15 So people can ease into it |

happney65: Why would they?Asking for a simple rise in minimum wage is just the right thing to do in these times we are. This isn't socialism..A $15 minimum wage is okay.. Like it was raised in Nigeria 2019 and some states like Oyo and others pay while some almost 20 states are still not paying yet their leaders live extravagant lives
Bunch of Bastards Exactly I remember in 2009 when Obama wanted to increase it, Republicans were shouting that it would cause inflation bla bla Inflation is constant, the price of things must go up Same as automation, it is constant. Development of tech to replace human is going to happen at a particular time Till then, let's pay people livable wages. This same person that don't want to increase wage, don't want to do universal healthcare, believes education should be kept expensive, believes if you are pregnant you must have the baby all while opposing increase in wage In Pennsylvania for example, both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are cities in PA minimum wage generally in PA is 7.50, but in Philadelphia it's $14 while in Pittsburgh is 7.50 Big mac in both places is the same amount $4.00 Now if an uneducated single woman has a baby or two kids At least she would want to stay in a two-bedroom, for comfort and convenience Both Philly and Pittsburgh have the same average in two bedroom cost So a woman in Philly can basically do 1 job on a 40 hr shift, paying $15 and pay for her two-bedroom comfortably and do something tangible with the rest, leaving the other job she had to do to meet up for another person While in Pittsburgh at 7.50, if she works 40 hour week, she can't even pay rent, so she has to work two jobs and gigs to meet up. people that understand economics should understand where I am coming from. Increasing the minimum wage doesn't mean the person would start buying properties, most likely the person is going to spend all of that money back into the economy. By feeding, paying debts, paying loans, paying rent. And still, have a little something to save for a major health issue As we know, almost everyone in America is one health problem away from going bankrupt in America Three things that bankrupt people fast in America is, health care, divorce and various baby mamas |

LordReed: Hopefully the Dems don't fućk up. The last time the Gop lost both the presidency, house and senate in the space of 4 years was in 1932 for the next 20 years democrats dominated. FDR did 12 years direct, he won a record of 4 presidential elections straight, all while in a wheelchair disabled. Republicans became scared, they went ahead and codified a law that would be only 2 terms per person. He brought about the minimum wage, removed America from the great depression which was 15-20X worse than what happened in 2008 as we all know democrats build the economy and republicans destroy it, it can't be coincidence. edi287: Agreed. But we all know majority of Democrats don't want open borders. Republicans keep throwing that accusation around when we all know that isn't the point.
Anyway my point is if Bernie goes full on anti immigration and talks about about the "browning of America" - more than half of the people calling him a "Communist", "socialist" etc would vote for him. Exactly, he anoda trump on the opposite side of the spectrum |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by Timiofak(m): 8:50am On Jan 22, 2021 |
edi287: The likes of Ann Coulter have already said they'd become Bernie Bros if he turns anti immigration. Bernie Sanders isn't really a pro immigration guy. He has come out against "open borders" many times in the past. I heard someone said Bernie would be open to something similar to the RAISE act if it came with amnesty for the people here already. Open borders is ridiculous I believe there should be borders and control But not inhumane treatment to asylum seekers and illegals. They are human being too, not that they would be treated like animals. People in south America face a lot of issues, so if you see them manage to run away and make it to the U.S it's not like they are comfortable, if they were comfortable they won't be trekking too the u.s too do mediocre jobs. They just want too eat the best thing is review their case, and put them on a type of probation. Without immigration there is no America, that's just what it is. |

OjoMadiba: Trump starting a new party will be a one way ticket for the dems to win every election, personally i don’t think it’s a good idea floating another party now,
Yes, there is need for a new strategy for the GOP. Look, TImi, the GOP can’t kick him out, in fact, he saved the party, he is the most popular republican ever, someone in the GOP has to appeal to his base now, weather you like Trump or not, that man has the numbers.
30% His base did not turn Up for the senate rerun in Georgia, it’s cost the GOP the senate. Yes he has the numbers, sanders had the numbers. As much as I love him, I believe his supporters would be exactly like maga fanatics. So why do you think the smart democrats are pushing him away What you are trying too say is trump is the American tinubu, godfatherism. so come 2024, if it's his son he nominates, then it's over. Plain lunacy. That isn't democracy, that's more like monarchy. |

Lmao, that's if he doesn't destroy the Republican party by starting his own party. If traditional republicans are smart they better kick him out sharp, or else he would take there party away from them. With his deplorable base. |
